3 Chapter Three The Bonding

I left Louey in peace for the day. He was very lucky to not have burst into flames at the slightest touch of the sun's rays. When I returned to check on him that afternoon he still was asleep slumped back in the chair.

I draped his jacket over him. His face was so peaceful as he slept. I found myself admiring him.

His long eyelashes, how they curled ever so slightly at the ends. His alabaster skin is so fair and even.

His red lips. He was beautiful. Anyone would fall easily under his spell. My breath hitched in my throat as I ran my fingers through a lock of his brown hair.

It was like cool clean silk between my fingers. Without warning his eyes opened. I gasped as I snatched my hand back.

His piercing yellow eyes held no malice. He smiled then sat up.

"What time is it? " he asked as he scratched his head.

"It's 2:30 In the afternoon. " I replied, still blushing.

Louey yawned and stretched then crossed his legs. " it's too early for me to leave the basement. "

Then he pulled me into his lap.  His strong hands held me close. Louey then snuggled me.

"Come rest here with me." He said sweetly.

I could feel the heat rise in my face. I was blushing feverishly. I enjoyed being this close to him. I tucked my head under his chin as I ran a few strands of his hair between my fingers.

Louey stroked my hair and gently kissed my forehead.

"It's been a long time since I have gotten to know a mortal. Yet it feels like I already know you." Louey said as he gazed down at me.

My heart was tying itself into knots . I sat up and turned to look at him. "Why don't we get your coffin? "

Louey frowned. "There is no way I could get it. It's in another country. "

"How did you manage that?! I thought all vampires need to rest in their coffins in order to rejuvenate their power!" I shouted.

"I've been fine up until now.. I may have to retrieve it soon." He said pushing my hair to one side and kissing me on the neck.

I shutterd and jumped down from his lap.

" what do you mean by until now."

I asked as I regained my composure.

Louey smiled weakly. "I was able to use the full extent of my power only after feeding from you. Before that I haven't used them in several years. So when I do use them it takes a lot out of me.˝ He said with a sigh.

I frowned. " I'll have to call Talon and have him fix that." I said as I grabbed the phone out of Louey's Jacket pocket.

"Can he really get it for me?" Louey asked me as he stood up for his chair.

"He's our lawyer. He can do anything."

After I finished talking to Talon who was very happy to hear from me. I hung up the phone and put it back in Louey's jacket.

"He said he should have a temporary fix for you by sunset tomorrow." I smiled.

"He works quickly!" Louey chucked".

I looked at him, his skin seemed paler and his eyes had a dull orange tint to them.

"Are you hungry?" I asked him as I headed towards the door. His eyes lit up and his fangs rested on his bottom lip.

" I'm famished. He said as he covered his face with a hand.

"All you had to do was tell me!" I said then went upstairs to get him a blood pack.

As I walked through the house I peeked out the window  the sun was slowly setting. I looked at the clock on the microwave.  7:21. I opened the refrigerator and grabbed a bag of my blood I had father draw for me and poured it into a coffee mug and proceeded to put it in the microwave.

I then set it for 45 seconds. I then felt a shift in the air. The smell of blood began to fill my nose.

"How intoxicating!"

I turned to see Louey behind me. His eyes red with blood lust.  He grabbed me his right hand, grabbing me by the waist, as he crouched down to my eye level.

His eyes were crimson as he looked at me."You're so beautiful when you're frightened."

Louey said as he drew closer to me, his left hand brushing my hair out of my face and away from my neck. Just then the microwave began to beep.

Louey quickly turned his attention to it. He  opened the microwave, grabbed the mug and chugged its contents. I looked at him. He slowly lowered the cup from his lips and let out a deep sigh.

"Thank you....  I almost bit you." He said placing the cup in the sink.

" It wouldn't have mattered much if you just drank more of my blood." I said smiling at him. He frowned.

"Why do you keep feeding me your blood?" Louey questioned. He stood like a tower over me. Gazing down upon me with kind, but concerned eyes.

"Isn't it a gesture of affection?" I asked as I batted my eyes lovingly.

Louey smiled, but then crossed his arms and covered his face with his right hand.

He shook his head and chuckled as he peered at me from between his fingers.

˝Yes it is but only from a vampire to a vampire. We creatures of the dark...  most of us view humans the way they see cattle." He said Sternly.

I hung my head. Vampires see humans as we view cows. Louey kneed down in front of me, and took my hands into one of his enormous palms and closed his other hand over mine.

I caught a chill. His hands , although soft, were cold as ice. Goose flesh began to cover my arms and travel up to my neck.

I shuttered.

"Do not be saddened my pet when you give your blood to me, you are offering yourself to me symbolically." He said sweetly.

"Your hands... they are so cold." I said fighting the urge to pull away from him.

Louey quickly released me.

"I'm sorry I sometimes forget that I'm a walking corpse."

"Louey said with a toothy grin.

"At least you're a beautiful one!" I said smiling up at him.

I caught a hint of color rise in his cheeks.

Louey then took my hand and led me to the living room where we sat on the couch and watched cartoons.

After a few episodes I noticed Louey looking at me. He was laying back into the couch, gently played with a lock of my hair letting the strands slide between his long elegant fingers.

"Adel why is it that you do not act your age?" He asked inquisitively.

I turned to look at him. His piercing yellow eyes, although frightening we're kind.

"I'm not sure, but it may have something to do with me not being one hundred percent human." I said shyly.

Louey looked upon me with astonishment. "You're not completely human? How is that?!" He asked me as he sat up.

My mother is mortal. She is the top hunter in her sect. My father.....  I stopped and looked at Louey.  He is a vampire human half breed. " I finished.

"Hence the blood packs." Louey said as it dawned on him. He continued to look at me in disbelief.

"Do you have any powers?" He asked.

I hung my head. "No only my enhanced intelligence". I replied.  "I'm sorry if I cause you some discomfort. I know I don't act my age ,and it confuses you. I can see the... longing in your eyes. I'm sorry I'm simply a child".

Louey took me into his arms. "Do not apologize sweetly. It is I who needs to remember my place. Yes you are right. I have had impure thoughts because of how you behave, but that's my problem. I hope you can forgive me".

Louey said as he kissed my forehead. He then got up and walked into the kitchen.

"I will only if you'll forgive me. I asked as I got up and hugged him. "I'm.... curious.. and sometimes I push you to see how far you'll go." I said as I pulled away from him.

"So you're not the only one at fault." I pulled the sleeves of my shirt down till they covered my hands.and tucked my hair behind my ear.

Louey looked at me with one of his odd eyebrows up and a silly smile.

" Well then be careful because you could get your wish. He said walking back into the living room.

He then sat down on the couch and picked up the remote and changed the channel. I stood in the doorway looking at him.

"Well do you forgive me." I asked

He patted the seat next to him and I went and sat down.

"All is forgiven." He said.

I leaned into him and continued to watch cartoons with him.
