1 Prologue

Prologue Magic is the core of this world. Everyone get's something, whether it be Fire, Water, or even the ability to have animals do your bidding. Everyone has magic but the way people use it varies. Some use it in day to day life, using their fire to heat up a cup of coffee, some use it to water the crops on their field.

Others, however, use it for evil, terrorizing people for personal gain. But we have something just for that in this world; Heroes.

Heroes are the ones who fight for justice, help the world, the ones who keep this world safe. They keep balance. Without them evil will take over and there would be no one to stop them.

Many love the thought of being a hero but not many can actually be one. Something big is on the horizon and we count on the heroes to be there to stop it.

"Hey, Akira? Can you pass the milk?" A honeyed female voice could be heard from the kitchen as a red haired, irritated teenage boy came walking into the kitchen.

"Ughhh. Why couldn't you have gotten the milk yourself?"

"Because my ears heard you coming out of your room and I didnt want to get up." As she points at the cat ears on her white sweatshirt.

"Those aren't real cat ears Ayami. You were just too lazy to get off your cheeks and get your milk." He retorts in an annoyed voice as he opens up the fridge.

"But-" As that singular word comes out of her mouth she is quickly interrupted by Akira

"No. You know I'm right anyways so what's the point in trying to explain yourself?" He says rhetorically as he closes the fridge and hands Ayami her milk.

Ayami puffs her mouth and takes the milk from Akira's hand. She proceeds to pour her milk and take a spoonful of cereal.

"I didn't hear a thank you." Akira says as he looks towards Ayami the sun bouncing off of her white hair. He doesn't get a response so he leans in while holding his hand around his ear

"Thank you." Ayami says in a low voice "Can't hear ya!" "Thank you! You big dummy!" "Yooou're welcome." Akira says with satisfaction.

A rough elderly voice could be heard coming down the hallway as well as the sounds of a wooden cane hitting the floor. "Why is it that everyday I'm taken out of my slumber by two bickering siblings?" "I don't know grandpa. Ask her." Akira says as he points to Ayami

Ayami quickly strikes back with her face still puffed up saying "Wha-! If anything, you should be asking him! All I wanted was milk!" "Well it doesn't matter anymore. Finish your cereal and get your butt on the field." Their grandfather said.

Akira "put on his black hoodie with red around the neck and base walking by Ayami scruffling the top of her hoodie causing it to fall off. "Cya on the field." "Yeah, Yeah." retorted Ayami.

She finished her cereal and put on her shoes. As she walked out the door she was greeted with the sun in her eyes. Once the image started to clear up she was able to see the vast land in front of her. Lots of grassland with crops scattered along it, along with a couple houses here and there. This tiny village was surrounded by trees leading to a forest.

Ayami takes a seat on the porch of her home watching Akira and her grandpa do field work. She sits there and takes in the peaceful aura that this day is emitting. Wind blowing through her hair, sun falling on her skin. She was always more of a cold weather person but she doesn't mind days like this.

"You okay Ayami?" Akira's voice called out

"I'm fine, don't worry. I'm just… what's the word?... Chilling?" Ayami replied "Uh… okay." Akira said with a slightly confused face.

Ayami spent the rest of her day on the porch basking in this good weather, running laps around the field, hanging out with her brother Akira and looking at the daily hero magazine.

Hero that goes by the name of Camellia has taken down another bunch of bad folks! She's one of the best hero's around and not many can stand against her! Stay tuned for the next Hero Magazine to see what amazing things our world heroes have done!

Ayami looks at this magazine with the sight of determination as she closes the magazine and gets out of her bed. She opens her closet revealing a light blue double sided scythe and a holder for it. She picked up the holder wrapping herself with it then picking up the scythe, putting it within the holder, keeping it on her back.

She walks to Akira's room and doesn't get the chance to get a word out. She walked in and he already knew what she was doing. He then went to open a closet in his room revealing a large, black hammer with red on both flats. He picks up the hammer and places it on his shoulder, proceeding to walk out of the house with Ayami.

They exit through the back door that leads to the forest. They run from the door to the forest trying not to get spotted. Once they make it to the forest they slow their pace, starting to walk instead.

"Y'know we've been doing this for a pretty long time but we haven't gotten many chances to use what we learn." Akira said,

"Somebody will do something eventually. We've been safe since that day but it's not going to stay like that forever. If something ever pops off we are the only ones in this village who would be able to stop them." Ayami replies.

"I mean, you're right but still, not many people fall upon a village in the middle of the woods." Akira retorted.

"Hey! Stop being negative for a change! I'm sure something will happen sooner or later and when it does.." she turns her head to the left sending a menacing stare towards Akira.

"Because it will! We'll be there to help as I said before."

They came across a very large lake taking up the surrounding area besides a little grassland around it. Ayami then extends her arm towards the lake and freezes the lake over. She hops on the lake and slides to the middle of it.

"Hop on." Ayami said

Akira, very confused at Ayami's action, exclaims in a whispering voice "What are you doing?!"

"What? It'll unfreeze in due time. If anything, you can just thaw it with your fire. It's not like anyone is coming out here anyway." Ayami retorts

"Still you shouldn-"

Akira was cut off by the sound of bushes rustling.

"You heard that too right?" Akira asks Ayami

"Yeah." Ayami says as she slides on the now frozen lake towards the sound of the rustling. Akira following behind her

"Ayami puts her head over the bush to discover a cat

"KITTY!!!" as she hops over the bush and goes to pick up the cat

The cat didn't oppose Ayami unlike most strays would. It actually welcomed Ayami allowing her to pet it.

Akira, late to the party, looks over the bush and finds Ayami petting this grey and white cat and says.

"Hey, what are you doing? That cat could have some disease or something. You don't know what this thing could have!"

"Cmonnnn it's a kitty!!" Ayami then exclaims, her face turning into that of a cat. Pet itttt.

"I refuse." Akira stated

"Pettt itttt."

"Nope."

"Pettt itttt."

"Ughhhh Fine!"

Akira gives in to Ayami's wishes and attempts to pet the cat in her lap. The cat then hisses at Akira and tries to bite him. He moved his hand fast enough to not get bit but he was in shock.

"IT TRIED TO BITE ME!" Akira exclaims

"I guess it doesn't like you. It's doing lovely with me." Ayami replies, giggling at Akira's shock.

The cat then gets out of Ayami's lap and walks away.

"Wait nooo, where are you going kitty?" Ayami asks the cat

It turns back around and walks around Ayami. Ayami then picks up the cat one more time and scratches the cat's chin.

A posh adolescent male voice comes out of the cat.

"That's the spot."

Ayami was scared that she just saw a cat talk. So in reflex, she tosses the cat causing ice to freeze the grass beneath her.

Akira also being startled, lets out a gasp causing a tiny flame to burn beneath his feet. Then proceeding to stomp out the fire in fear that he'd start a forest fire.

The cat, no longer being in sight, Ayami and Akira are now scared. They both see a silhouette of a tall, lean, figure. Presumably a male.

Both Akira and Ayami pull out their weapons because they're in a state of shock so they feel as if they're in danger.

The silhouette then clears into an actual image. They are greeted with what looks to be a teenage boy but not quite. This boy had fangs, one as if he was a cat. Also having ears that looked like a cat. His dark grey hair shining in the moonlight. Wearing a black buttoned up shirt leaving the top two unbuttoned with white pants.

The boy then opens his mouth and says as he waves his hand

"Hey."
