On the elevator ride to Rowen’s apartment, Hayleigh thought long and hard about how she was going to dispose of her professor’s body.

There could only be one possible explanation as to why Rowen was being a full-blown asshole to her: he had to be angry. At what, she had no idea, but she would soon be wringing the answer out of him until his eyes popped out.

The elevator doors opened. She was furious enough not to care, but god forbid if it had something to do with that night. He’d been acting like a decent person up until then—which in retrospect had been too good, too unbelievable to be true. Of course he’d be back to being a dick after getting what he wanted.
