Useless School

As Leonidas sat there waiting on Kathlyn a group of boys approached him. These guys don't look like the cliche ugly noble slobs, but he didn't take chances and talked to them naturally.

"Are you the Duke's son?" One of the kids asked. This seemed to gather the attention of other kids who started listening to our conversation.

"Yeah, I'm Leonidas Leonhart." He said introducing himself.

The kid in question smiled.

"If you're looking for a group to join, you should join ours. I'm Charles D'vore from the D'vor family. We can-"

Leonidas heard the sound of a carriage and raised his hand for the kid in front of him to stop talking as he looked over to the left. He saw a white, black and gold colored carriage stop im fromt of the gates and then watched as the coach went to open the door and helped the girl out of it.

Kathlyn stepped out in a short sleeve whit shirt under a black vest that had white lining. She also wore a bowtie that was tucked under the vest. She wore a skirt that was just at her knees and black thigh high socks that matched her black shoes.

Her black hair was curly and two strands were over the front of her shoulders while the rest was in the back. The other students stared at her as she walked through the gates with her head down.

The moment she got through the gate, groups of girls and some boys rushed at her and immediately got loud as they all asked questions one louder than the other.

Leonidas moved the boys in front of him out of his way and shoved his way through the crowd. Once he got there he cleared his throat to speak.

"Can all of you give the girl some space!!" He said as his yellow eyes glowed. Everyone quieted down and backed up.

"Thank you. God, to think you all are nobles. No wonder you need this school." He said in a tone loud enough for everyone to hear. It wasn't just kids there, but people up to 12 years old. Even in his past life at the age of 12 he wasn't so mindless.

Kathlyn wrapped her arms around Leonidas's right arm as he glanced at her.

'Shy as ever. I wonder if Ashton has to take these classes.' He thought with a sigh.

*BONG*

The sound of a huge bell ringing was heard and everyone started back with their chattering as they walked into the building. The doors were automatically let open with magic stones and were set so that when the bell rang a magical trace would be sent to the stones, opening the doors.

'Maybe I should learn a thing or two about magic circuits?' He thought as he and Kathlyn walked into the building.

"Thank you for coming here." Kathlyn said in a tone low enough that only he heard.

"It's cool. After all, I could have denied, but nah. It's not how I operate." Leonidas said.

"So you don't want to train right now?" She asked with a tilted head and innocent thinking expression.

"Oh no, I do. In fact I wish I could train right here right now, but nah. I have priorities." He answered.

"I-I see." She said in a rather dejected tone. He smiled and looked down at her as his eyes widened. She seemed like a sheet of paper being dragged along with no soul.

….

The school day went on and Leonidas was completely bored. He felt he could die if he didn't do something that had to do with magic, swordsmanship, or at least some type of show of strength.

He had learned how to sit properly, how to enter a room, how to greet people, how to dress, how to hold utensils, how to drink tea properly, leave tables without a fuss and keeping clean, how to fold napkins, how to SHAKE A FUCKING HAND, and lastly, how to walk down stairs.

Finally they were at the last thing. Dancing. Dancing was something Leonidas could never get the hang of, but luckily that was past life/modern dancing. He was a rather "old fashioned" person if he had to say himself.

He liked dressing formally and could do slow dancing and other formal dances. Even then, those skills passed over to his new body. At this time they were in the huge ball room, which was common for prestigious schools for nobles.

This, like most other classes, were for both boys and girls. Well boys and girls of this age group.

"Everyone partner up." The teacher said loudly. Everyone avoided Kathlyn and Leonidas simply because they thought it would be weird for them to dance with either the Princess or the honorable son of the Duke. Well it wasn't like they wanted to dance with other kids anyway.

Leonidas was already taught the proper way to ask a lady for a dance, but followed as the teacher instructed. He stood up straight and put his non-dominant hand behind his back and bowed as he put his right hand out.

"May I have a dance?" He said in a soft tone. Kathlyn put her left hand in his right and used her right hand and gave him a courtesy bow. They both raised up and Kathlyn put her hand on his shoulder while his left hand went to her waist.

"And begin. 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, spin, 2, 3, spin, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, spin, 2, 3, elegant swan." She said as the music went on.

"Very well done Princess Kathlyn and Sir Leonidas. That was splendid. Amazing job today everyone. D'vor, work a bit on your posture. Don't lean on her, you should lead." She said.

Moments later the bell rang signaling the end of the schoolday.

"Remind me again why you're going here. From what I saw you seem to have mastered all of that perfectly." Leonidas said.

"Well, it was because I had some friends here…" She said lowly.

"What happened to them?" He asked. He saw her eyes tear up and sighed.

School had just let out and Kathlyn came out from the back door of the school and was speed walking around the side, to meet the "friends" she made on her second day there.

Just as she was getting around the corner she heard their voices. She went up to the side of the wall and stopped to listen in. She planned to jump out and surprise them, but instead was stunned hearing them talk.

There were three upperclassmen and they came to her on the second day she attended the academy.

"Hey, if we asked, do you think she'll hand over a bunch of gold?" One asked.

"Forget the gold, have you seen the type of jewelry her and her mother wear? I want that." Another spoke.

"Both of you are wrong, the clothes are the best. I heard it's made with S-rank mana beast hide. Imagine how much they could go for and how good I'll look with them." Another said with a giggle.

"Hey where is the little thing anyway?" The first one spoke.

"Meh, she'll be here in a while. What if we got her to buy…"

As Kathlyn heard them talking her eyes teared up, but instead of crying she wiped her eyes and walked around the other side with a neutral facial expression as she clutched her hands together in front of her. One holding the other.

She heard the girls calling her name and seeing that she was ignoring them it spreaded a small rumor about the princess thinking she was above them and that she looked at everyone as anys.

Following that week, she was reprimanded by her parents who got wind of the rumor, but after some investigation they saw that she didn't and that the other girls were just jealous and started a rumor.

They tried apologizing to her but she just went on and on telling them she was fine. Of course they didn't believe her and saw that she was only actually happy when she was on scroll time with Leonidas and Ashton.

Hell they could hear the kids laughing all the way from the main room. And so one thing led to another and now she's in her current situation.

—Current Time—

Of course she didn't tell him any of that and instead stayed quiet about it.

Even though she didn't speak, he understood the situation and what most likely transpired.

"Let's just get you homeschooled. Tell your parents that you can just be over at my house while we practice and train. If they have doubts that you mastered everything, we can give them a show, right in front of them." Leonidas suggested.

"But what about making friends?" She asked.

"Well, while I'm sure there are some good people in this fine institution, I doubt they'd want to do something against the social norm and try to hang out with us after we've already made it clear that we don't want to be bothered. After all. People love to follow social conformity." He said.

"…huh?"

"Nothing. Let's just go home. I already sent a letter scroll to my parents that I'd be riding with you. They already let the king know, so let's get going." Leonidas said as he started walking.

"Oh yeah, that thing about friends. Me and Ashton should be good enough right?" He asked. She smiled and ran over to him as they got into the carriage.

A/N: I'd like to clear something up about Kathlyn. She won't turn out much like she did in the manhwa.

People are saying she is lifeless then say Tess is the best girl without thinking. Tess and Kathlyn had the same situation, they both had problems with making real friends and closed their heart off.

The only difference was that Tess had Arthur while Kathlyn didn't have anybody like him. If Art didn't save her she would have come out just like Kathlyn, but as the Elf model.

Her personality will be reserved towards others and a bit shy, but otherwise happy and slightly playful with Leonidas and Ashton. As I said in the synopsis there will be no bs drama and Ashton will have somebody already.

Anyways that's all.

Fun Fact About the Author: Surprisingly he can play the piano and flute extremely well.
