Chapter 16: Dungeon Raid Part 3

Ryo, Axle and Aiko we're going down a stair spiraling down before they reach another large door, but the large door's design was different than the previous ones, it had a design of a large spider's head and it's fangs were spread wide open ready to devour its prey.

The door itself had an ominous aura that made Aiko tense but she didn't show this weakness to her master. Ryo on the other hand was thinking of a plan to deal with a spider boss, since it's already obvious that their facing is the final boss, so it must be the largest here.

" Aiko, when we enter this room, ready your explosion ball. " Aiko was a bit confused but she'll still do it.

Ryo pushed the door open and they entered it, once inside the room that was dimly lit by glowing crystals Aiko prepared her explosion ball. Just as Ryo thought, inside was dimly lit and it was full of spider webs, lots and lots of spider webs, he wasn't bothered by this, since he isn't scared by them but more likely to be slightly fascinated by this, because he had a girlfriend in college that wanted to become an Entomologist and she sometimes show him what she learned and fun facts about that insect. Ryo smiled at his memory with her, too bad that they broke up because of their future jobs, but they still became friends in the end.

They slowly walked while being vigilant of their surroundings for any potential ambushes, even with dim lights, they could still see much better because of the large amount of stat points on intelligence, well, besides Axle since he could only see red lights and silhouettes that were trying to hide in the cover of darkness, Aiko was the one that could see the most and she saw lots of spiders crawling and observing them, she shakily look at Ryo waiting for his order, this made Ryo chuckled.

" Okay, Aiko, fire it over there. " Ryo pointed at the roof of the cave, Aiko looked at Ryo questionly to which he only smiled. Aiko then fired the explosion ball and when it hit the roof it exploded sending chunks of rocks everywhere while bright lights assaulted their eyes making them cover it, the spiders that were hiding in the darkness released a pained screech and started to scatter everywhere while some of them were crawling towards Ryo.

' good, that worked! Now for the second part. ' Ryo then turned around to look at Aiko who was rubbing her eyes cutely.

" Aiko, get on Axle and take the grouped ones down, I'll cover you. " Aiko nodded and got on Axle while he grabbed both of his daggers and channeled Mana into it.

They didn't see the boss spider anywhere, it might appear later since there are only level 10 to 20 little spiders here, well, they're not really little like normal size spiders, they're more like the size of a large adult dog.

Ryo swung his breeze dagger, releasing ten breeze waves hitting and slicing up any spiders that got hit by it. A spider jumped behind him and launched its webs at his back, he managed to turn his body dodging it and pointed the electric dagger at it and used electric current sending an arc of electricity at it, the spider spasm a bit before dying.

Ryo, Aiko, and Axle had been killing the spiders until they felt rumbling on the ground and had to stop. At the darkest part of the room, eight furious red eyes shone in the dark, each step it took the ground shookt.

Ryo's face paled along with Aiko, in front of them was a spider standing at three stories high, it had a black slashing pattern on its back, green saliva hanging down it's fangs with a slight purplish hue in it, the giant spider roared furthering their fear, Ryo had to snap out of it and used Appraise on it.

The spider compresses its webs, making a ball of web, it also occasionally pulls rocks into for a more solid ball, and damages. }

The spider shot out strong silk webs to snare their prey to the wall, floor, or ceiling. }

Damage:500( 50 venom damage per second. )

Cost: 250 Mp

If you got grazed by the Broodmother's fangs, first the venom will paralyzed you for 10 seconds, which is enough for it to devour you, but if not, the second phase is death from the venom injected in you. }

Cost: 200 Mp

The ultimate skill of the Broodmother is to give birth to freshly hatched babies, but it needs to store their eggs in order to use this skill. }

Ryo was shocked to see its unbelievable stats, he gritted his teeth and looked for a way to deal with this. The Broodmother screeched an angry screech before she used her ultimate skill, she gave birth to hundreds of spiders on the spot, the newly born spiders started to surround them and ready to attack.

A brave spider launch towards them but it didn't get close because Ryo used breeze wave slicing it to pieces, the spiders didn't appreciate that so they charge at them to try to overwhelm them, the Broodmother didn't just sit still and watch her babies die so she occasionally fire silk ball mixed with rocks and silk webs to pressure Ryo to make mistakes.

Aiko started to fire multiple spells at the incoming spiders and Axle was galloping around to dodge both the spiders and the Broodmother's attack

Meanwhile with Ryo P.O.V

' Damn! There's more of them, this is bad. ' I gritted my teeth, and started to think, since Aiko might run out of Mana soon.

Five spiders hastily crawled towards me so I used earth spikes to impale them, another one tried to sneak up on me but the blood lust it gave me alerted me so I used my electric dagger to slice it.

We killed Spiders after spiders until some of them were left and moved to their mothers side, I looked to my side and saw an exhausted Axle and Aiko that had multiple scratches on them that had a slight purplish color, there's no doubt about it, they got bit and now venom is draining their stamina quickly since they are forcing themselves to move, and I think I also got bit.

Now that there's more room for the Broodmother to move and we're exhausted from killing the spiders and dodging her attacks, she crawled towards us and raised her right front sharp leg and brought it down trying to impale us, we quickly move away from there and she only pierced the ground.

' Damn this giant bitch! Arya, is there any antidote in the shop? ' I asked while dodging a slash from the Broodmother.

[ Yes there is, just for 10,000 Kp. ]

' Good, buy three of them. '

After Arya said that I summoned them from my space ring and three small balls the color of pinkish-purple appeared on my palm, I was just about to run towards Aiko and Axle, when I slipped on the blood from a dead spider and the pills left my hand and rolled away.

I hastily grab the pill near me then the second, then third, but when I was distracted the Broodmother lashed an appendage and I was going to tank it, but someone did it for me, Aiko and Axle pushed me out of the way and they were the one that got hit, now they got thrown and landed on the ground hard making them go unconscious, my blood boiled and rage filled me.

" Damn it! Damn it! I'll fucking rip you limb from limb!! " I shouted at the Broodmother that had an amused glint in her eyes, but something was much more furious than me, it was inside my space ring and it surprised me because I knew what it was.

I summoned the katana that had a glowing red fiery aura around it. It was filled with rage and wanted nothing more than to cut the spider and burn it to a crisp.

" You're angry too huh? But, even though I wanted nothing more than to kill this bitch, I'm underleveled to wield you. " I said to the sword and it only made it much more angrier than before, but thankfully Arya talked to me.

[ You don't have to worry about your level master, you've surpassed it already. ]

" Really?! "

[ Yes! So unsheath that equally raged sword and fucked this overgrown bitch up!! ]

I smiled at this and stood up, I strapped on the katana to my left side. I slowed my breathing since jumping at it head first because of my rage will only kill me, using my thumb to push the tsuba, I grabbed the handle of the katana then started to draw it from its scabbard.

Now that it was unsheathed, I can finally see its red-black blade, a fire hamon designed on the edge. The sword didn't try to suck my Mana to kill me, but instead it was filling me up with basic instructions on how to wield a sword/katana.

I have a satisfied grin on my face since the katana is working with me, I flashed my demon eyes making me see clearly in the dark, somehow. I then spread my legs, one foot in front, bent and one foot stretched at the back, I then positioned my katana to my right side then took a large gulp of breath and closed my eyes

" Flame Breathing, First Form: Unknowing Fire. '' After those words subconsciously left my mouth the sword started to draw Mana from me and it was coated with waving flame, I pushed my front foot, making a circular crack on the floor before dashing straight at the Broodmother and leaving a trail of fire, all the little spiders that were left, tried to pull a pincer maneuver on me but I just slashed them if they get to close.

The Broodmother used its front leg to impale me, I disappeared in a show of speed but the Broodmother sensed me and lifted her third limb to block my attack when I suddenly appeared to her right side. The katana clashed with the Broodmother's leg but to her surprise, her leg didn't last long and got cut off, it didn't bleed much since it was cauterized by the flame of the katana.

The Broodmother screeched and I landed on the ground and moved to its underside so when she turned her body to lash at me, I was in position to her left side, ready to cut another leg, I jumped towards the joint of the front left leg and readed my katana.

" Flame Breathing, Second Form: Rising Scorching Sun. " I slashed in an upward way cutting the leg off cleanly, but I underestimated the force of my jump so I went past it than what I intended to do, when I was starting to fall down I turned my body and the Broodmother's fangs was spread wide open, ready to snatch me mid air, well, too bad since I was ready to deliver another slash.

" Flame Breathing, Third Form: Blazing universe. " I slashed down wards with enough force to slice three of the Broodmother's left eyes and send me a couple meters back to give us some space.

The Broodmother screech again and now she was more pissed than ever, it lunged forward at me slashing it's front right sharp leg, I had a bit of a hard time dodging since we almost match each other's agility and I'm almost drained from the sword continuously drawing more Mana from me, I needed to end this quick so I dashed out of their for more room, the spider snapped it's head at me and started to spit web snares and silk balls, I clicked my tongue and raised the katana.

" I'm ending this. Flame Breathing. " The sword started to draw a dangerous amount of Mana from me.

" Fifth Form. " I was starting to get coated with flames around me, I dashed forward towards the Broodmother and then started a series of slashes, cutting the incoming web snares, and web balls. I jumped up and now I'm at the top of the Broodmother's head. The Broodmother was charging a large web ball and then fired it at me.

" Flame Tiger! " The flame that was coating me started to take the form of a tiger that was ready to pounce at its prey, I cleanly sliced through the web ball then the Broodmother's head. The Broodmother's head resisted a bit but it got sliced in the end.

The Broodmother's head was split open and its legs gave up and her body fell downward with a thud, now that that's done I sheathed the katana before storing it in the space ring. I then swallowed one of the antidote pills that I forgot to consume before I wobbly walked towards my unconscious friends and made them swallow one in their sleeping form, and after that I flopped down and rested.

Blue: you're creating a pattern of the way your battle started, the mc gets beaten down and then in the hardest of moments, your mc gets a sudden power boost, like any other mc in a web novel, and then beats their opponent.

Author: ohh, my bad.

( Blue_robin, give me some advice for future battles that don't have this kind of patterns, but I might still use this kind of tactics in future power ups for my lead characters. )
