CHAPTER 7

Why you don't let everything go?

"I never thought you'd bring that up!" Sounding broken he backed off a couple of steps. "Then why did you brought that up?! You started and I'm no sorry for it!" I kept my straight face up watched him losing color. Disappointment on his face, he glared with annoyance pacing towards me with the most dangerous aura one could ever have. "I'm expecting, you know what you just did and what can be the consequences of everything!" He declared with the sternest voice which pierced deep in my ears. In defense, my eyes were closed tightly to control them from showing all the emotions that I could barely find a need to reveal. "I guess we should have this conversation when we are sober." I heard his sharp intake of air which was a warning to himself that he was losing it. He usually did lose his temper of which I'm scared the most. He lost that once when we were young. It was my prank which turned out to be the worst nightmare of my life but he promised not to be a monster again.

"Hey, no cheating! Go, I'll find you." Teen Rowan told to me. "Okie Dokie!"  Nodding adorably I ran into my playhouse to hide. "1,2,3..." I was able to hear him counting. "...and 10. I'm coming for you I hope you're hidden well." Searching for me he teased so that I would show myself. But I ain't kid anymore to fall for his trap. "You can't find me, Rowie." I giggled with chubby cheeks arching out with slight dimples on each side. We weren't toddlers nor adults either, but we loved to play kiddo games with each other since forever. "Where are you? Well, I can see you?" I heard his heavy footsteps at the entrance of the wooden playhouse. Exciting chuckles making my hiding easier but still suppressing it I tried to move deeper in the shelves. "Okay, now first clap!" Oops, he'd know the location if I clapped. "No cheating come on..."

"Master Rowan, your parents are here to pick you up." My gardener interrupted, no saved me from being busted. "No, I'm not leaving. And tell them they don't have to pick me up after their business' done. I can go on my own. I'm not a kid anymore." He roared and stormed out of the playhouse. Of course, he never liked his parents or their attention in his business. "Hey... Hey, wait! Rowie!" Calling him out I tried to stop him from leaving. "Rowie..." it took a lot of energy to reach his speed. "That's not fair!" I struggled for wind. "Gotch you." He sneered making my eyes pop out. "Wait, what?" He turned, staring straight into my eyes with hands crossed. "That's cheating!" I squealed with my baby face. A smile appeared on seeing me frowning. "Aww, so cute baby!" He said pinching my cheeks. "I'm not a baby, I'm nine years old, and don't you dare to bully me." I snarled with hands-on my waist making him laugh profoundly. "Well, I sacrificed my win to tell you that you behaved very wrong. They're your parents. How could talk so rudely? And..."

"I don't like them! That's the bottom line." He interrupted with the blooming face. "Rowie..."

"How I'm supposed to care for them when they can't take care of each other?" He barked making me speechless. "You know what they say when I ask 'em why they are together? They say that 'They don't want me to grow up in a broken family' and that hurts." Pointing towards his chest. Growling painfully he shed a tear of agony. "By the way, you won't get that cause you've blinded yourselves by your own beliefs that are bullshit so don't trynna correct me in a way that you want. Leave me alone!" He declared with his back to me. "Rowie, wait, I didn't..."

"I said, LEAVE ME ALONE!" Pushing me in rocks he left me with bleeding palms, scar for the life. I sobbed bitterly in the pain of both physical and emotional.

"Does that hurt?" A deep, pained voice brought me back to life. We were in the office, preparing for the meetings for new musicians. Rowan was supposedly attending it too. He asked as he saw me being somewhere else. "Uhhh!" My mind sighed. I admit that our company is working together as partners but that doesn't mean he should be here every time. Just like my tail! "Fuck it!"

"Huh?" He looked up at me with confusion. "Did you just cursed? No, you usually don't do it." I felt everyone's gaze on me including Logan and Darcy.  Embarrassment taking over my face turned tomato red. "No. No. I mean kick it! Kick this cup. I hate this color. This is so... Yuck looking color." I tried to cover up, unfortunately, failed terribly. "I'll just look for the meeting room, excuse me." I stormed out with blooming checks leaving behind all the suspicious gazes towards nowhere. "Why is he everywhere we are?! Did he forget his deal? I'm sure he's aware of the consequences of every move he does!" Father growled in suppressed pitch. "Don't worry honey, we should have a word with him. We should know what he's up to." Mother consoled seductively. "Yeah, we need that. We need to talk to him before he tells everything to Matilda. We can't lose her. Just a few more months and I'll make sure she isn't..."

"Good morning Miss Matty!" Arnold, mother's chauffeur horrified me. "Who's there?" Mother yelled through the crack of the door. Taking a deep breath I followed in with Arnold wishing them morning to see both the old faces turned palest of their skin color. Even my heart thumped inside, trying to register the things I overheard. "Uhh... Ahem. I'm here to see you guys ready for the meeting. And yeah, Mr. Ryder asked for few docs of previous projects. Just for the routine." Made up few things to break the silence that threatened to make existence. Leaning them alone I left the soon I finished my talk. A Million things ran up to my sense, making an effort to link up things that weren't supposed to exist. "Who were they talking about? What consequences? What deal? And importantly what's gonna happen in few months and to whom?" Everything stormed up with many questions more. But with all that one thing more tired up "was that related to Rowan in any way?"
