Cyklos Circuit

I left the estate with some trouble in the form of getting questioned by my brother. His name was Ian and was a supporting character in me and Kieth's story. He would meet the protagonist and they would both learn that they had lost a family member to a curse place by antagonist.

When Ian found me trying to leave the estate without being accompanied by some guards he reprimanded me. I was an average person with no combat training except some basic swordsmanship. He spoke about how it was dangerous as I could be severely hurt if I got jumped by some criminals or was taken hostage by an enemy of the Recon house.

Even if he was nagging and sounded as if he was speaking down to me from his setting in the story and my memory as Alis I knew he cared deeply about me. I got him to let me go out if I was escorted by the two guards that came with me. The were Calvin and Opera. Both were actually supposed to be personally guarding Ian but he ordered them to come with me.

Well at the very least no one should be coming after Ian if he stays within the estate.

"Young Master Alis," Calvin spoke up, "might I ask why we are headed this way."

I turned back to look at the man. Brown hair with dark brown eyes his appearance couldn't be called handsome but he had quite the good looks. This man was meant to die from the plot devi— curse.

Honestly I question why I agreed with Kieth in adding that curse. After we had written it I came up with so many ideas that could have been used which were so much better but we had already published the chapter to the web and both of us were to lazy to go back and rewrite the chapters both the one explaining the curses existence and the ones that used the curse in them. Maybe if I had gone and rewritten those I wouldn't have to deal with the curse that affects even the strongest people in the kingdom.

I shook my head with an exasperated expression and seeing it Calvin must have been scared he annoyed me or something like that because he became wide eyed and tensed up.

I gestured that it was fine and kept walking. Opera also seemed to want to ask something but didn't seem like she was going to. Good, I really don't want to explain why we are heading through the slums.

After some more walking we reached where I wanted. A large statue of man whose head had been broken off. Engraved at the base the words "Cyklos, the Path Paver". This statue was what I came here for.

"Young Master Alis why did you come all this way to see a broken statue? Is there not one in the estate's gardens. Opera also questioned me but I silenced her.

The man that was depicted in this statue was an important figure in this world's history. He was the one who helped establish a link between the races that existed throughout the continent making pretty safe routes that lead between the human, elf, and merfolk kingdoms. He was said to have the powers of all three races and their was a reason for that.

It was his technique of circulating mana through his body. He did it in such a way that the traits from the mana he absorbed could become a part of him granting him his ability to use all the races powers. Of course I am probably the only one who knows this as of this point.

"Opera and Calvin please go some distance away." I can't have them seeing what I'm about to do after all. It was something that was done mid-way into the series and required a certain symbol to be drawn. The thing is as the artist of the symbol's drawing we included I can say I know it.

"But—" Calvin was trying to say something but I silenced him.

"Go." I waved both of the escorts off and they left.

Alright then. Taking a deep breath I tried to remember my drawing and then went to find a sharp stone. Cutting my finger I cringed from the pain and then went behind the statue. I drew the symbol and then it began to glow.

The statue's base opened up and inside I saw a notebook. Taking it out I opened it and confirmed it was the Cyklos Circuit. It was.

I grinned. Good it should take some time to take learn to use it but I have a year and a half before the antagonist appears and I can began my plans.

I pocketed the book and walked towards the my escorts.
