15 Ch 13 Reunited in Chaos

Mewzi woke to a wet tongue lapping across her cheek. At first she thought it was one of the boys until she went to shove the face away and the head was much larger than she anticipated. "Boys, cut it-Namur?" she asked groggily as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. He looked at her worried and placed the basket down he had in his mouth. For the last few weeks someone had been leaving soup at her hut door and it turns out it may have been him. She shivered as a breeze flew in from the gap in the open door. He padded over to it silently and nudged it close with his nose. It was turning into fall and she had begun to worry about the others. Namur made a sound that was a mix between a huff and groan before walking back over to her and scooting the basket closer to her.

The soup was still warm and he even brought her bread this time. Whatever was in it had helped her with her morning sickness and nausea tremendously. She eyes him cautiously as she begins to eat, curious as to why he came in today of all days. "Well good morning and thank you. Is uh, everything alright? You normally just drop n' go." she asked curiously. He backed up a bit before laying on the ground and closing his eyes. He then started to toss about like he was having a bad dream. "I was...having a nightmare?" she asked for clarification. He nodded before walking behind her and laying on his belly. His large body gave her a back rest and his warmth kept her from freezing until she was not lazy enough to start her fire. "Thanks." she muttered as she went back to eating.

Her dreams weren't overall too bad or abnormal. She can't even remember what she was having a nightmare about last night. As Mewzi finished her soup a bunch of people started screaming orders outside. Namur got un, careful not to let Mewzi fall, before making his way outside. Mewzi followed behind as she saw people running to stow the children away, put out the large fires and hide everything. Had she not known better and seen everyone she would have thought it was a deserted village in the forest. "Tell hell is going on?" she asked as Sabine nearly dragged Mewzi to her hut. "There is a military patrol and some trackers nearby. Stay here safely with the kids and I'll let you know when it's clear." she said. "Wait! What kingdom are they from? What race are the trackers? They could be here for me." Mwezi retorted.

Sabine sighed. She knew that Mwezi was most likely right, she was just trying to bid them more time. "Fine but let me make sure first. Stay here until I come get you,"She replied. Mewzi nodded. That was fair, in case it wasn't them. "Where is she!?" was All Sabine heard as she ran up to the border of their camp. "Who?" She asked calmly. Māui scoffed and threw his hands up in the air annoyed. "We're looking for Princess Mwezi. Mate to the Bear Prince Kai. She has been missing for almost three months." Tayir said. He didn't want to cause a scene especially after what they had learned. Sabine sighed and rubbed her hand down her face. "One second." she groaned and turned back to her hut. Mwezi saw her coming and met her outside. "They boys were worried so I sang them a song. It put them right to sleep." she informed Sabine.

Sabine nodded with a smile but it wasn't full. "What's wrong?" Mwezi asked as she cupped the side of Sabine's face with a hand. Sabine sighed and put her forehead to Mwezi's. "They're here for you. A wolf and a bird I believe." Sabine informed her. "Oh! Tayir and Māui! But why do you look so distressed?" Mwezi said, trying to hold in her excitement. She had a feeling Sabine was taking her going home hard but wasn't sure why. "I really don't want you to go." She whispered. "Sabine, you know I'll come back to visit." Mwezi said even more confused. "How are you sure? They think us beast, and fear us! For good reason! Why would they let their precious princess come here?" Sabine scoffed. "Okay best friend. Sistah. I get it and I hear you. But understand that I am not the fucking one. Remember how I helped Kai establish a land for "ferrals" and people who lost mates or were rejected. The same power I hold to do something like that. I'll be fucking damn if I don't or im not allowed to come see MY family." Mwezi said with a raised brow.

Sabine stared at her with a deer-in-headlights look before blinking a few times. "Now, before Māui shorts a fuse, we should head back. His temper is short enough as it is." Mwezi tried to joke. "What the hell is a fuse?" Sabine asked, confused as Mwezi dragged her back to the camp line.

"Mwezi!" Tayir and Māui called out in sighs of relief. Mwezi didn't get to react as Kai ran up to her and put her in a literal bear hug and nuzzled his face into the crook of her neck. "Hey baby." Mwezi said as she started to cry against him. Nyoka and Paka weren't far behind and took turns passing around and hugging a crying Mwezi. "Oh my goodness, guys this is Sabine. She helped me escape. Well technically Namur freed us. Anyway, The village as a whole took me in and treated me like family. She's my bonafide sister and I will be coming to visit often." Mwezi said.

She wanted Sabine not only to see that she was serious but for the others to realize that she did indeed care about them. She appreciated them and above all else considered them her own. "Of course baby. Any time you wish to visit." Kai nodded, pulling her into a hug again. "Thank you so much for helping and saving our mate." Kai said with a teary smile. He held out his hand with a shake in the hopes to try and start brokering peace. Sabine looked at his hand for a long while. "You're welcome." she said as she crossed her arms.

Kai nodded in understanding. "Why did you guys bring her back? Just wondering?" General Sumir asked as he and his men landed and shifted. "Who the fuck invited this guy!?" Mwezi scoffed as she threw her hands up in the air agitated. "We couldn't find you for weeks on end. We needed all the help we could get. It's not like we wanted to. Trust me." Kai muttered the last part. Nyoka hissed with annoyance. "We found her bird brain. You can go now...no offence Tayir." he added. "None taken." Tayir replied unbothered.

"Leave to a feral to act like one." Sumir replied. Mwezi snapped and took off her sandal and flung it with the force of an exploding sun. It let out a resounding and satisfying smack as it hit him in the face and caused his nose to bleed. The areas around her were rockier than her feet could handle so she made the soles thick. "No one asked for your input or stupid questions!" Mwezi yelled. "How dare you female! I am a general and you just attacked me for asking a valid question!?" Sumir replied as she pinched his nose. "Go fuck yourself" Mwezi hissed.

It was in this moment, General Sumir made the worst mistake of his life and took a step towards Mwezi. Out of nowhere was a massive roar that shook the trees and animals from it. As if he was a graceful gazelle and not eight feet of pure predator, Namur jumped from behind the bushes and landed in front of his tribe and Mwezi protectively. Kai, Nyoka, Paka, Tayir and Māui all took a step to the side and actively got out of the way. Kai waved his men off, "return to camp." she stated simply, never taking his eyes off Namur. "We have no enemies here," he added.

Mwezi went to step forward but Sabine held her back and shook her head frantically. Mwezi gave Sabine a look and Sabine sighed letting her go. "Namur.." Mwezi whispered. He grunted in reply but began to pace back and forth waiting for Sumir to make another wrong move. "Hey. You. I'm talking to you." Mwezi said, trying to get him to relax. She ran her hand along his fur and felt his racing heart beat. He was calm on the outside but adrenaline was surging through his body. His breaths were deep and strong, focused. "Leave it to you to buddy up with more ferals" Sumir snapped and Namur jumped.

He flipped his body mid air and hit all of Sumir's men away. Sumar tried to crawl away but Namur lifted his paw and extended his finger, claws out ready to strike. Mwezi sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes. "Namur don't." she called out. Namur growled, hand still ready. "Believe me. I want you to. He deserves it." she started. "Excuse me I just hel-" "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Mwezi screamed. Her blood pressure shot through the roof and she became dizzy instantly. "Mwezi!" Sabine cried out as she caught her. "This stress isn't good for the babies! Get rid of him!" Sabine snapped as Paka lifted Mwezi into his arms. Nyoka hissed and transformed into his snake form and bit Sumir in his leg. Sumir screamed and held onto his leg before slumping back to the ground unconscious. Nyoka used his tail to toss Sumir's body at Sumir's men. "Leave now!" he hissed.

Paka was too distracted holding Mwezi and staring at her belly. "She's...pregnant." Paka kept muttering, getting more excited each time. "Come on Paka, we need to get her to the doctor." Kai said and he jumped around on the balls of his feet. "I'm okay just gimmie some air." Mwezi muttered and Paka helped her sit up in his arms. Mwezi let her head fall back as she noticed a bird circling the sky as it was joined by other birds overhead. "Let it be known that they are free game." Mewzi said quietly as she pointed to the birds in the sky as they dove down.

Everyone shifted around Mwezi as chaos erupted. Nyoka wrapped around her protectively with his tail and covered her, while still being able to fight. Paka, Kai, Māui, Tayir and the sabertooths slaughtered them easily enough. Most of them and what appeared to be their injured leader knew when it was smart enough to pull away. They seemed to have forgotten about Tayir who learned a lot from Māui while on their travels. Tayirs knocked them out of the sky, partially shifting at times to make himself smaller and dodge easier. Nyoka uncovered Mwezi as the last of the injured birds were captured and brought to them kneeing in a line.

"Amir." Paka hissed in his Partially shifted form. He remindined Mwezi of a male Bastet. "First the crazy bitch attacked father and now she and her merry band of ferals and friends attack me and my men." Amir mused. "You attacked FIRST!" Sabine Roared as she partially shifted as well. Her curved teeth made her speech sound slightly more animalistic in a way. "We just came to help!" Amir said, sounding amused. Mwezi sighed as she sat on Nyoka's tail comfortably. "You can't tell him anything if you're not around to tell him." She said simply. Namur walked up to her and licked her face before nuzzling into her. "Protect you people from these bandits by any. Means. Necessary." She told him as she rubbed the side of her face against his.

Mwezi sat back and watched as her family treated Amir and his men like those "ferals" that he and his father thought them. Finally, Paka had been properly avenged and Amir paid for his actions. "Mmm imma be sick." Mwezi muttered as she ran over to a tree and threw up. Namur heard her get sick and ran off into the forest. Sabine started making callouts and the sabertooths started cleaning up the remains of the remains. Paka cleaned himself off while Nyoka helped Mwezi get comfortable. There was a rustle in the bushes and a man came out. His skin was cream colored and his bare chest showed off his muscles. He was somehow thick and bulky yet still lean. His hair was long and unkept and he had to run his hands through it to move it out his face. He had five marks, two on each cheek and one on his forehead. He held a backset in his hands with soup in a jar and bread.

Mwezi's jaw dropped and Sabine made an inhuman sound of surprise somewhere behind her. "Namur?" They both asked before exchanging a look with one another. Namur gave his sister a deadpan look before bringing the soup over to Mwezi and opening the jar for her. "Wait, you were making the soup for me all this time? I thought your sister just conned you into delivery." Mwezi asked. Namur smirked and it was gone just as fast as it appeared. "I can-" Nyoka offered but Namur gave him a look that said 'don't you dare'. Mwezi was still in a bit of shock but opened her mouth diligently as Namur fed her, forcing her to finish the jar of soup. "Okay I'm full. Please no more." Mwezi pleaded. The soup was amazing but he fed her a lot more than normal.

"Sorry." he muttered and Mwezi's neck nearly snapped with how fast she looked at him. His voice was deep like Luther Vandross and smooth like a lightsaber through butter. It did something to her on a primal level she tried her best to ignore. "Oh my Gods. Nam Nam speaks!" Mwezi squeals and cups his face with her hands. He groaned. "Please don't call me that." he retorted. "But the kids do it." she pouted. He sighed and rolled his eyes.

"You smell nice brother." Sabine mentioned. "Blood and violence is what upset her stomach in the first place. I wasn't going to feed her covered in it." he sighed as he stood up. Nyoka lifted Mwezi into his arms gently. "Wait. Thank you NamNam." Mwezi said in a baby voice as she bat her eyelashes at him and held her arms out and open. He rolled his eyes and gave her a hug, careful not to squeeze too tight. He put his forehead to her and a purr rumbled in his chest before he turned around and ran back into the forest. "That's his way of saying your welcome." Sabine said with a huge shit eating grin on her face. "We're preparing a feast, you're more than welcome to join us." She offered.

"Aunti are you okay!?" the boys cried out as they ran up to her in Nyoka's arms. "I'm okay baby you can put me down." she whispered to him. He didn't seem sure but he let her down slowly. The kids hugged Mwezi gently and grabbed each of her hands to lead her to the center of the camp. Nyoka and Paka followed closely while Kai went back to their camp to update everyone there. Kai came back with his parents and introduced Sabine to them. By some act of the Gods Sabine shook their hands and began talking to the king and queen about a lot. Mwezi was too preoccupied with all the children to care.

Namur came back in his sabertooth form and sat by the edge of the group. He watched Mwezi play with the children and how close she was to her mates. He knew it was wrong to keep her like they did, but something in him wouldn't, couldn't let her go. Spending time with her, seeing how well she fit into the tribe and his daily only made those feelings stronger. "Brother would you mind gracing us with your not-animal form so we can talk politics." Sabine asked with a raised brow. Namur ignored her and kept his eyes on Mwezi. "Brother. I know. But she will come back to visit. You will have your chances. I am trying to get you a bit closer to her if you would stop being an ass and shift." Sabine whispered directly into his ear before pulling on it like a mom scolding a child.

Namur roared playfully before bringing her down to the ground and tossing with her before he pranced off. He came back with clothes on and Sabine locked her arm with his before pulling her back over to where the king and queen stood. Kai had managed to get Mwezi to sit down between his legs with Nyoka wrapped in a loose circle around them. They had their hands on Mwezis belly and rubbed it absentmindedly. "We're going to be dad's guys." Paka said excitedly. Mwezi giggled. "I wonder who got there first? She asked jokingly. "What do you mean?" Paka asked, confused and Mwezi burst out laughing. "I'll tell you later my love. For now let's enjoy this. We're finally reunited."
