First Crisis

"Well, what should I do next?" Tama walked out from the store, "Ah, an inn."

Tama walked slowly to the inn as he told the way to by Bima. On his way, Tama was hit by a child that ran without seeing where she goes.

"Ouch… Sorry, sir…" Afraid of the mistake she made, she hangs her head over Tama. A woman supposedly to be the same age as Tama. "I'm sorry for my behavior. I didn't see you, sir. Please, I beg your pardon." She bowed her body as a sign of apologies.

"Oh, it's okay. Don't do that, please. Raise up." Tama tried to make her stand up. He didn't like such a thing. For him, it was too polite.

"No, sir. I want to apologize to you properly."

She still bowed even though Tama told her to stand up. She thought that her sister makes a terrible mistake. She saw Tama as a high-profile magician. Well, because Tama's robe was the best robe in this village's store. There was a possibility that this woman ever seen the robe wore by Tama.

"Please, don't do it. I don't want to see anybody bowed to me like that."

Bima then told Tama to gave her an order so she can be sure that she was forgiven. Tama then made her show the way to the inn and place an order for him. On the way to the inn, Tama asked,

"Oh, right, but who should I address you, young woman?"

"I'm Carol, sir."

"Alright, Miss Carol it is…"

"Ah, sir. No need to address me politely."

"So, don't address me with sir either. We are not that different in anything."

"But, sir. Your robe… You are a wizard, aren't you?"

"No, I'm not. At least, not yet," Tama told her half of the stories he made up in the way to this village.

"So, you are an adventurer?"

"…No, I'm not. I only want to go to many places but I'm not an adventurer."

"You should join the adventurer guild then, you will get many benefits of it."

"Such as?"

"Perhaps, on your way to your next destination, there are some quests like searching for certain monsters, animals, or plants. Or maybe-"

GRAAHHHHH!!!

A red wyvern suddenly appeared over the village of Ourobo. The citizen of the village who didn't become ad adventurer or didn't any power to fight, to run fast outside the village.

The red wyvern kept flying over the village. It searched for a suitable pray. It was a rare situation that a wyvern came out of its nest and hunt human but, this wyvern was a special one. It was a big wyvern and a red one. Usually, the size of an adult wyvern was about five up to seven meters long from its head to its tail. This red wyvern was estimated to be about twice as long as the normal wyvern and a normal wyvern had a dark blueish color.

GRAAHHHHH!!

It landed right in front of Tama and Carol.

"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!" Tama yelled so loud. He was not used with this kind of event. In the other hand, Carol seemed to be calm despite this red wyvern was a rare encounter for her.

"We must run! Find an alley!" Carol suggested, Tama then searched for an alley and found one, a couple of meters behind them on their left. They ran toward that alley. Tama went first and followed by Carol.

"Pant! Pant! Pant!" Tama's breathing out heavily, "What should we do next?"

"We can't do much. I don't bring my equipment. We need to just calm and wait for reinforcement to arrive here… Pant! Pant! Pant!"

"Damn! I hate to be useless!"

ROOAAARRRHHHH!!

The red wyvern let out another roar but this one was a magical roar or a skill to be precise.

"What is this, Carol?! I can't move my body!"

"It was its skill probably. A paralysis roars."

A group of people ran toward the red wyvern. The used some kind of metal armor and some other used robe.

"ICE LANCE!"

A shout out could be heard by Tama and Carol. "It's them! We were saved!" Tama confused to hear what Carol just said.

'Who are they? A bunch of people that brave enough to face that goddamn monster,' thought Tama.

Tama tried to see the scene from the alley

GRAHHHH!

A red light could be seen from where Tama and Carol were. That wyvern was able to let out a fire breath

"We must stick to the plan! Heal him, Fino! I will go forward and draw its attention!" A man in metal armor then ran forward with his big shield.

"Okay! Archers and Mages keep on hitting the target!"

Many arrows flew toward that wyvern but none of them were able to hit it. Its skin was too hard to penetrate.

"It's useless!" One of the archers shouted, "Only the mage could hit it!"

The one who did heal suggested something, "Right then, mages do your best to hit him! Archers tried to hit the eyes!"

"Will do!" a mage answered. The mages then fire many kinds of ice and water magic. Likely, the red wyvern was a fire element, therefore, the correct way to defeat it was to cast ice and water magic.

"ICE LANCE!"

"FREEZING AIR!"

"WATER BULLETS!"

The man in armor kept on running and occasionally hit it with his long sword.

"GYAAHH!"

CLANK!

His sword couldn't harm that red wyvern. The man in armor then leaped back as far as he could. The red wyvern then whipped its tail to counter him but the man in armor already readied his big shield.

CLANK!

'Damn! This is the best I can do. I must ensure that this b*tch attack me so they can hit it!' thought the armored man, "Come and fight me you lizard!" He tried to taunt the red wyvern.

GRAAHHH!

The red wyvern spat its fire breath towards the armored man but of course, he readied his shield in time.

'Damn hot!'

"Cast another ice and water magic guys! I will try to heal Lyla!" Fino the healer hurried to ran to Lyla, the armored man to heal him. "In the name of Hase the God of Protection, I grant you HEAL!" A white-yellowish light could be seen covered Lyla.

Tama opened his eyes and mouth. 'I still can't believe this! Magic!' Thought Tama, "Hey, where are you going, Carol?! It's dangerous!"

Carol ran to one of the Archers. "Hey let me use your bow!"

The archer then said, "Ah Miss Carol! Yes, use mine!" He then gave his bow to Carol.

Carol targeted the red wyvern's eyes with the bow, 'I must hit the eyes!' Carol thought.

In the next couple of seconds, the arrows shot by Carol fly right where it meant to be. Carol hit the red wyvern's left eye.

ROAAARRRHH!!!

The red wyvern looked in pain. It stepped back a few before flew away from its enemies. The enemies were too many for the red wyvern to handle alone and too risky with only an eye left.

"ICE LANCE!"

"WATER BULLET!"

The mages cast another magic to made sure that the red wyvern left away from the village.

Everyone then screamed loudly, "HORRAYYY!!" "FINALLYYYYY!" "WE DID IT!"

Fino then said, "If Carol wasn't here and take a shot, we won't survive this. Archer from Heaven really showed her class. Thank you, Miss Carol."

"No, if it's not for you guys, I already burnt to ashes." Carol hung her head to sign her sincere thanks.

Lyla walked to Carol and bowed to her, "Thank you for your assistance, Miss Carol!"

Tama walked out from the alley. "Miss Carol, you okay?"

Carol turned her head to Tama, "Yes, I'm fine." Then she introduced Tama to the adventurers, "Guys, this is Mr. Tama. Mr. Tama these are my fellow adventurers."

"I'm Tama. Nice to meet you guys. By the way, thank you for your help. I owe you one."

"I'm Fino, and this is Lyla. Nice to meet you." Fino, Lyla, and Tama shook hands.

They then cleared up the mess and told the guards to calmed the citizen.

'What do you think, sir?' Bima finally talked after he kept quiet during the fight.

'Why are you didn't help me back then!' Tama's face looked furious. Carol then asked him if he okay and Tama said he was okay. Tama then walked away from the rest of the people there so he could do chit-chat with his 'beloved' comrade.

'Answer me, you pile of junk!'

'I do this for you, sir.'

'Do. Not. Do. Nonsense here.'

'No, of course not. I want you to know that I said the truth. That this is a magical world in another dimension. And so, you really can grab the basic understanding about how Keyra works.'

'Thank. You. Bima. You really do your job greatly.'

Not long after that, Carol walked to Tama, "Come on, sir. I already made a promise to bring you to the inn."

"Oh, right. Are we done here?" Tama moved his head right and left to make sure that everything was done.

"Yes, the rest of the adventurers alongside the guards of the village already took care of it."

And they walked away from the scene to go to the inn.
