2 Tale #2: Wingless

They saw what horror looks like so they flock to the angels, yet she remained to make sure that no one sees the devil.

A savior— they called her, for she saved the many who was drowning in the deep ocean blue. Drowning on their own immense emotions and feelings, problems those they thought there is no solution at all. She saved them all with a light reflecting hope, hands open wide ready to comfort their uncontrollable souls, a heart that understands their pain and their tears. She was the savior they're waiting for, the savior that will save them, the hope that they're looking for all this time. And alas, she came. She pulled them out of the darkness and enveloped them with her warm comforting light. They were saved. With smiles on their face as they thank her, as they cried their pain in her arms, as they told their problems unto her. She caressed their face and wiped their tears as she said "it's okay now, everything's fine now." They rejoiced with such happiness that they are safe now. She watched them as they laugh their dark days, as they forget their sad faces, as they don't feel ashamed of their scars anymore, as they throw away the rope, razor, knife and poison they are holding— thinking that it was the only solution there is. She watched them grow livelier, full of energy than ever before. She watched them, as she began to drown herself.

The sound of their laughter faded, the warmth of their hugs now gone, and the once bright light flickered weakly, until it was all just darkness. She felt cold, she felt sad, she felt empty, and she felt— hopeless. She was now where those she saved were before. She cannot breath, she cannot moved, the only thing she can do was cry. All her life she has been the savior of those who thought there is no hope at all. She thought it was good for them, she only thought about them, she only cared about them; she forgot her, she forgot to care for herself, she forgot to think what's good for herself. She forgot, that before you save others, save yourself first. She forgot that before you love others, you love yourself first. She lived all her life devoted to others and forgot about hers. She doesn't care anymore if what she did that is good for others was not good for her. She doesn't care if it hurts her or not, the only thing that matters is them.

"The important this now, is that they're safe." She thought to herself as she drowns even deeper, as her soul became uncontrollable, as she felt immense pain to the point where she just wanted to end it. She was the savior, now— she needs a savior. She needs someone to pull her up, to hear her cries, to wipe her tears and to hug her tight. But there was no one who came, no one to save her. As she drowns deeper, she saw the remnants of those who chose what they thought were the only solution. She saw their scars, their tears, their sad eyes staring into nothing as their soul escape their body, she saw what pain they have been through, and the pain they are still in. She saw what horror is in their eyes, more terrifying than what she saw to those she saved. It was comparable to the devil that dragged them beneath, it was the devil who gave them those options, and it's like the devil was giving her options to choose from. She heard its' whisper "choose what you want, and I'll help you end the pain."

It was then that she thought there was no hope at all. There is nothing look forward anymore. There was nothing to live for. Then immeasurable pain surge throughout her body, telling her to end this suffering quickly for she can no longer hold on. She thought it was the end. Her mind drifted as her hand reached for what she thought was the only answer. Her mind wandered on the things that she had done for others. As she was losing hope, her mind crossed in a question: who will save the others? Who will comfort them? Who will be their light? She asked herself those questions as she found herself swimming upwards, towards the light. She thought not of herself but of others, of what will happen to them, who will help them. The pain slowly disappeared, as her soul became calm again, as she forgot her tears and those sorrowful feelings. She swam upwards as she can hear again their laughter, as she felt warm again, as she saw bright light again.

Then, all of a sudden, she opened her eyes to see those she saved in front of her, tears of joy as they hug their loved ones, as they walk to their path, as they wave goodbye to her and say thank you one last time.

Someone asked her once, "Why are you staying here? Don't you want to go with us?"

"You saw what horror looks like. I am here to save you from that tragic ending, and so I will remain to see that no one ever sees that horror and faces the devil." She answered with a smile, but she knew it wasn't the true reason why.

She watched them go and stared again in the deep ocean blue, waiting for someone to save. Thinking that as she save them, the same thing will happen again.

They saw what horror looks like so they flock to the angels, yet she remained to make sure that no one sees the devil— is what they believed, but it's not the truth. She stayed not because to save others, it's because they can grow wings to fly them up to the safest place, yet she doesn't even know what wings are like.
