7 CHAOS – How to feel when you learn your vacations might be drastically shorten

It had been very hard for me not to laugh when Kim had sprinted to the door. It had also been extremely funny to see her being all embarrassed when she asked to be teleported back home. I never knew someone could blush so much. Somehow, I kinda wanted to see her blushing again.

Mercury, who had work through her initial mistrust of Kim, had decided it would be a lot nicer to become pals with her. We had asked Kim to describe her house as precisely as possible. Thankfully, she had given us an incredible number of details, making it easy for us to picture the house and actually teleport there. Neptune – who had already found her a nickname – had hooked up his arm to her's before teleporting. Saturn and I had a few seconds to talk alone before joining them.

"You really think she's not something ?" I asked. I was more and more doubting the fact that she was just a human. No human could have withstood the aftermath of multiple teleportation so well. No human could heal a hematoma in less than two hours. And no human could understand alien languages. We hadn't told her that she was fluent in at least every human and alien language we had talked to her in.

Sat didn't even think before he answered me "No. She's definitely a Nadsanian. Even her last name is an acronym of Nadsa. But I'm almost positive she's not the Sun."

"How so ?"

"She's not the one who used constellation powers earlier. The chemical trace on her would have been stronger."

"Maybe it's someone from her family. Didn't you say she had a sister ?"

He quickly ran through his notes "A twin older sister. Amanda Venus Asdan. Born 20th March."

"They weren't born on the same day ?"

"They were born at midnight. One just before and the other just after. But that's not really interesting compared to this" he said, before pointing the computer. On the screen, the picture of a smiling family had appeared. The two teenagers in the middle caught my attention. They both had the same build and tanned skin. But the one on the left was taller and had hazel-colored hair while the one on the right had straight black hair and amber eyes. Kim and her sister. The two adults, who were definitely Kim's parents, had the same black hair and pale eyes her sister had. I knew what he was going to say before it even came out of his mouth. "She looks nothing like the rest of her family" he declared.

As we appeared in Honoka'a, I immediately saw that Kim was in a deep discussion with Mer. Nep was laughing hard next to them. As he saw us arrive, he turned towards her and we saw he was tearing up from laughing. Giggling, he told us "Kimmy thinks we're gonna wipe her memory or something !"

"Am not !" she yelled. Blushing, she quickly added "I was just wondering if you could that. I mean it's kind of THE aliennesky thing to do."

"Aliennesky ?" Saturn asked with a curious expression. He took out a notebook and started noting the new word on it. "Can you elaborate on it ?" His eyes were shining with excitement. The kind of shine a kid's eyes had when you told him he was about to receive a surprise.

That seemed to put Kim in a bit of a bind. "Hum… Elaborate you say ?" She desperately glanced at the rest of us, most certainly hoping for someone to help her out of the situation. "Hum… basically… it means something one would expect from an alien ? I guess ?" In front of Saturn's disappointed face, she began to fluster, clearly feeling very embarrassed. Neptune had started laughing again and it took no time for me and Mercury to join in. Kim was getting more flustered by the minute while Saturn joined in the fun and sank to the ground, in a comic attempt to make her believe he was truly devastated.

"Did you get this idea from a movie?" I asked, breathing slowly to try to calm myself down. Earthlings had strange ideas sometimes. Like interdimensional portals and going to the past or the future. We had seen some of those movies while preparing to find the Sun. It was a good way for us to mix in with teenagers and actually find the one we were looking for.

It had seemed like a good idea at the start. That is until we actually arrived on Earth and realized some of those movies were almost forty years old. So not very teenage old. We still had a good time watching them though. There wasn't much entertainment on Nadsa. Which is why me, Neptune and Mercury had passed most of our free time – basically, whenever Sat was too busy to order us around – in cinemas and libraries. Our time on Earth was counted and we wanted to make the most of it before we had to go back to a place where our own families scorned us. Knowing we potentially had only one month left here meant we were going to get pretty desperate for those outings.

Kim opened her mouth but before she even started to speak, she turned her head towards the front of her house. I pivoted to look at it but nothing seemed to happen. I glanced at Nep with an interrogative look on my head. Maybe he knew what was going on. Instead, he mouthed "I don't know what's happening."

I turned back to see that Kim was still fixated on the front doors. To be exact, her eyes were staring blankly at the door, as if she was watching something. Something that none of us could see.

Suddenly, the front door busted open and I heard a girl yelling. "I don't know where she is Mom! I told you she wasn't on the beach anymore !" The girl's voice was filled with tension, fear and stress. Clearly, she was worried about the missing person. And I had a hunch the one she was looking for was blankly staring at her. "Yes, I did call her friends ! And no, she wasn't with them ! She must have gone back for a swim and she forgot about the time." Somehow, it felt like the girl was trying to reassure herself. As if she knew something was wrong. Or had gone wrong. "I'm going back to the beach. If she's there, I'll find her !"

I heard the door loudly shut and the biping that signaled that a nearby car was unlocked. And then I heard something crashing to the floor – the keys I thought – and saw a long-haired figure rush to Kim.

"Where have you been ?" yelled the girl as she tightly hugged Kim in her arms. She turned towards us. An air of mistrust flared in her pale eyes, but she quickly composed herself and flashed a bright smile at us. Oh… good actress ! "I guess I should thank you for bringing her back home."

Long straight raven hair. Pale amber eyes. A tanned skin. I had already seen this girl. And so had Saturn. This was the girl we were highly suspecting of being the Sun. Kim's elder twin sister. Amanda Venus Asdan.
