10 When You Like Someone

Shen Mohua stood beside Ou Junsan and stared up in awe. Smiling Cloud was the best tailor shop in Ping Jing. Not only were the designs the best, the owner was also a kind and beautiful woman.

Today, they came to try on their wedding clothes. Her small heart pounded against her chest. She would get to see Ou Junsan in red.

Her eyes came back down to the long series of stairs. "There's a set of very long stairs in front of us. About fifty? No, wait, let me recount."

Ou Junsan stepped forward. "There's eighty five steps."

"Ah..." An invisible layer of sweat washed over her face. She had counted it wrong.

He faced forward and offered out his sleeve. Realizing he was waiting for her, she merrily skipped over.

Her initial excitement didn't stay for long. Two thirds on their way there, she had to stop. She breathed heavily, hunching over the railing.

She underestimated the stairs! Why was going to Smiling Cloud as hard as literally going up to the sky?

Ou Junsan fumbled around for her. "Where are you?"

Shen Mohua, in her excitement, skipped ahead of him. It was the tempting picture of her fiancé in red that had her running up the stairs.

"I'm up here, fourteen steps in front of you." Her vision blurred. She blinked her eyes furiously.

He came to her. "Are you alright?"

"En, I'm okay. I ran too fast." She grinned sheepishly.

"Don't run around. Stay by my side from now on."

Shen Mohua smiled at his stern face. His one sentence floated in her mind, 'Stay by my side from now on.'

Slowly, they reached the shop. Large doors lining the porch were all opened, exposing the endless brocades of fabrics inside. From the ground to the walls, there were shelves of colorful cloths.

It was a busy day, as customers filled the aisles. Shen Mohua led him to the room reserved only for wedding garments. Along the tall wall were hundreds of designs to choose from.

"Ou Junsan, what do you like? Light red, medium red, dark red? Red with gold, silver, or blue?" Her questions came one after another after her figure that ran back and forth along the wall crazily.

"How about yellow? We'll be like a pair of ducks!"

"Wait, there's a 'sexy nighttime red!' Do you want to try it?"

Needless to say, Ou Junsan had no idea how the things she mentioned looked like. He could only stand there, waiting for her to gradually calm down.

Indeed, she grew tired. She dragged herself back to him. "Ou Junsan, I have no more energy to function."

"Too many options?" He asked.

"Yes, I can't make up my mind. Everything here looks good on you."

"..." Ou Junsan quietly cleared his throat.

Shen Mohua realized how brazened her statement was. She shyly reworded, "I mean, everything here looks good."

'On you,' She stubbornly added in her mind.

Ou Junsan pondered for a second. "Let's go with the one I ordered."

Her mouth dropped as he nudged her towards the fitting rooms.

Thirty minutes later, with the help of an employee, Shen Mohua came out in a gown dyed in the color of a red rose. Not too bright and not too dark, the red was fearless and perfect.

The traditional wedding dress was simple, but elegant. There were gold embroideries along the sleeves, belt, and hem of the skirt. Contrary to her fiancé's image, the dress was not as reserved as she thought. The neckline was slightly off the shoulders and connected in the center in a V line.

As the dress was custom made, it fitted her perfectly. Shen Mohua was deeply moved, so thankful for him that she wanted to hug him as soon as she saw him.

Ou Junsan knew there was a possibility she would reject the wedding. He probably thought she would once she knew of his scar and blindness. When they first met, he questioned her choice. Against his wall of doubts, he still bet on that slim chance. And on that tiny dot of hope, he made careful plans for their wedding.

Down the corridor from the women's fitting rooms were the men's fitting rooms. She walked along the smooth stone floor, wanting to surprise him. On her way there, she picked a flower and placed it behind her ear.

As she walked by another person, she suddenly slipped. If it were another girl, they would close their eyes and prepare for the impact. However, this was Shen Mohua. She knew a thing or two on the crafts of martial arts.

Her foot made a twist and she twirled in the air before landing softly. Her glare on the other person was merciless. He had purposely tripped her!

The man dressed in dark blue turned around, a smirk on his face. "Beauty, you're impressive."

Based on his expensive clothes and his cocky attitude, he shouldn't be an ordinary person. The arrogant look on his face and the flirtatious smile on his lips made her feel uncomfortable instantly.

Unexpectedly, the man reached out for her hand. He took her by surprise and strongly tugged her body towards him.

His arm wrapped around her waist. "You are a good looking one. What's your name?"

Shen Mohua cursed at his lustful gaze that stopped on her chest. Her lips curved upwards and he relaxed his hold, thinking she had fallen for him.

With all her strength, she stepped onto his foot.

"F*uck!" He pulled away in pain.

Without a glance back, Shen Mohua sprinted away as fast as lightning. Her small figure was so fast that she was almost no more than a blur in the corridor.

Lightning Feet was a skill taught by her master, but she had not gained good control of it. She couldn't stop herself as Ou Junsan's figure headed her way.

She was going head first into him and he couldn't see. As an attempt to warn him, she yelled at the top of her lungs, "Ahhh!"

Ou Junsan's eyebrow raised. As Shen Mohua's figure whizzed towards him, he pulled her into his arms. He stopped her, easily and with no pain. Her little trick was nothing to him.

"Why were you running so fast?" He asked, quite calmly, given the situation.

Her large eyes popped up like a bunny peeking out from a hole once she safely landed on him. "A tiger."

"A tiger walking around in the city?"

She nodded vigorously. "Yes, a large tiger with stripes all over. His eyes were scary and his claws wrapped around me. I almost got caught!"

Ou Junsan's lips pursed tightly together. Wordlessly, he grabbed her hand and led her away.

As she followed him, her eyes were glued on their hands that were clasped together. His larger hand strongly held onto her smaller ones.

When the stranger held onto her, she felt terrified. His touch on her waist was like a poisonous snake ready to bite. A sense of danger filled her body, she knew instinctively that she needed to run away.

"It's not the way in which you are left feeling breathless and butterflies in your stomach. No, that's only ever fleeting." Shen Fai said. "When you like someone, it's the warmth his presence envelopes you in. You'll feel safe, you'll feel happy, you'll feel as if forever is not enough time to be by his side."

Her gaze lingered on Ou Junsan's face that was endearingly cold. He looked scary, he spoke indifferently, and he seemed as if he could careless when he actually cared the most. When it came to this man, his actions spoke louder than his words.

He was rare, he was precious, and he was to be hers.
