Nie Li confronts Alan

After Nie Li returned, his comrades informed him of what Alan told Ye Ziyun.

Upon hearing those words, Nie Li's complexion darkened. Firstly, he was a bit annoyed that Ye Ziyun's relationship seemed much closer to Alan than his initial expectations.

Secondly, Nie Li was puzzled and angry that Alan seemed to know of his secret deal with the Snow Wind Family. Moreover, Alan was actually making Ye Ziyun investigate that matter.

In fact, even Nie Li's comrades were curious about this. Nie Li could see that they wished to know the truth as well.

Nie Li further added confidently, "He must be getting jealous of how close I am to Ziyun."

Nie Li's comrades seemed half-convinced upon hearing those words. However, they soon decided to trust their friend.

"You must be right, Nie Li," Lu Piao responded with a smile.

Nie Li was internally relieved as he heard this response. The truth would be far too complicated to explain to them.

However, he hadn't entirely resolved the issue yet. Ye Ziyun wouldn't accept such an explanation from Nie Li.

Director Yang Xin was startled as Nie Li visited her with an urgent look. He informed her that Ye Ziyun might try to get some details regarding the deal between the Snow Wind Family and the Alchemy Association.

She solemnly promised Nie Li that Ye Ziyun would find nothing.

After Nie Li left, Yang Xin knew she had to consult Alan about this matter. However, she couldn't contact him rashly and relieve her connection to him. She couldn't even send him a message through someone that could gain someone's suspicion.

However, Alan had expected this situation to occur. He knew that Nie Li would approach Yang Xin and probably request her to keep the deal a secret if Ye Ziyun ever came to inquire about the Alchemy Association.

It was a good thing that Alan possessed the Void Form technique of the Shadow Devil Demon Spirit. This allowed him to infiltrate the Alchemy Association effortlessly.

"…Nie Li must have approached you. It should be regarding keeping a secret from Ye Ziyun," Alan got straight to the point.

Yang Xin was slightly surprised to hear Alan's voice, but she responded calmly, "Yes, master. It's exactly as you say. What should I do? If I reveal the truth to Ye Ziyun, I might lose Nie Li's trust."

Alan responded, "I know. That's why you won't mention anything to Ye Ziyun."

"I understand," Yang Xin spoke affirmatively. Alan's order cleared her confusion. This meant Yang Xin had to focus solely on gaining Nie Li's trust.

Meanwhile, Alan planned to deal with Nie Li with another method.

The next day, after the classes in the Holy Orchid Institute ended and all students were retaining to their houses, Nie Li approached Alan with his entire group.

There was a determined and calm look on Nie Li's face as he headed toward Alan.

"…When will your family stop targeting me, Shen Yue? Just a few days ago, your family sent Long Xu after me. Fortunately, I was a bit stronger and managed to resolve that battle without anyone getting too injured. And yesterday, I heard that you met Ye Ziyun and spoke some nonsense to her," Nie Li spoke.

Alan raised his brow as he heard Nie Li's words. An amused smile appeared on his face as he thought, 'Nie Li is trying to change the narrative. He is trying to make it seem like I am targeting him or those around him. And my latest target is Ye Ziyun.'

'Well, actually, he is right since I am indeed targeting him. But he will have to do a lot better to prove that.'

Alan responded with an accusation of his own, "What's your proof that I am targeting you? I don't even know Long Xu and have never met him in my life. And why would someone from the Sacred Family try to target you? Aren't you overestimating yourself quite a bit? We have many more important tasks than dealing with ants like you."

Nie Li tried his best to maintain a composed expression while responding, "Long Xu admitted it himself!"

Alan rolled his eyes and sarcastically replied, "Someone attacked me yesterday and told me you sent them after me. So, why are you targeting me?"

"I never sent someone after you!" Nie Li spoke.

"And I plead the same. Next time, do a better job accusing me of a crime I didn't commit," Alan spoke disdainfully.

He soon added, "…Also, my meeting with Ye Ziyun has nothing to do with you."

"I won't let you mess up with her anymore," Nie Li spoke resolutely. His comrades seemed to support his words as they glared at Alan hatefully.

"…Now, this is interesting. So, you will stop me? I would love to see you try," Alan spoke with a smile.

Nie Li clenched his fists, but he still contained his desire to reveal his true cultivation. He knew that now wasn't the time to act impulsively.

Besides, Ye Ziyun shouldn't go against her father's order any time soon.
