1 Mission Accomplished

It was year 20XX. Hiroki was part of the special soldiers in a secret mission given by the government of his country. His team had to invade another country and capture their underground leader. His name was Augustus. He had the control of the black market of main Asia. Augustus was found guilty for piracy, slave trading, drug dealing and dealing of nuclear weapons. They had information that Augustus was hiding in his underground head quarters in Thailand.

Hiroki's team was composed by five soldiers. They only used the first letter of their names. T. was the sniper. J. was in charge of the layout of the base, guiding them through it. M. was the muscle guy. He was a master in close combat, but don't underestimate his shooting. He was one of the top sharp shooters of his unit. There was S. He was the assassin. He used hidden blades, tactful knifes and throwing knives. And lastly, there was Hiroki a.k.a H.

Hiroki was the leader of the team. The chief had put him in the leader position for this and many other missions due to his calmness in dire situations. He always took the best and most effective decisions. The most dire the situation, the more calm he kept himself and the faster his brain worked.

After half an hour of stealth invasion and silent assassinations of the guards taking care of the elevator of the hideout, we stopped.

"H. we are arriving in the target floor." Said J.

"S. You stay in the middle of our formation. M. and I will stay upfront while T. and J. stay in the back giving us cover. Let's go." Hiroki said as he entered the door going down the stairs. Augustus was on the fourth underground level.

As they went down the stairs, a few mercenary were spotted, but were dealt with the utmost silence and precision. As they disposed of the mercenaries, they didn't leave any bodies behind. The team did this all the way down to the third underground level.

"H. There are no signs of enemies on the fourth level." J. said as they arrived in front of the door leading to the fourth level.

"Alright, let's be wary. We don't know if they are using any signals to disrupt our scanners. J. and T. stay behind as support. M. and S., you two come with me. We'll be engaging any enemies that might be hidden." Hiroki said as they opened the door, ready for any surprises coming up.

As they continued, they found Augustus sitting on a fancy leather chair with his feet on a desk.

"So, you have gotten all the way here? I'm impressed with the five of you, but you'll all die together with me." Augustus said as he had pressed a switch on his right hand. The moment Hiroki saw the switch, adrenaline overtook him and his brain went into overdrive.

"MOVE, MOVE, MOVE. You four go back and get away from here. He's going to blow everything up together with him." Hiroki said as he commanded them to run away as fast as they could. As they were leaving, Hiroki shot Augustus on the head, killing him. He ran as fast as he could up the stairs and just then, the room they were in blew up, activating a chain reaction. Sounds of explosions were heard by the other four as they kept running up the stairs, arriving in the outer parts of the hideout. They stayed a good distance away while waiting for Hiroki. As time kept going, they got anxious waiting for him to arrive. After five minutes, they finally saw Hiroki walking away from the fallen rubble that was left from the base. When they took a closer look, they had become white as paper. Hiroki had lost his left arm from the elbow down when a wall was dropping on him. He reacted fast, but his arm was crushed by the concrete. Hiroki didn't think twice and cut his own arm from the elbow down, getting free from the rubble that fell on top of him.

"H. let's call for the chopper. We'll take care of you." Said J. as he communicated to HQ in his intercom.

"H. What happened?" Asked our commanding chief through the intercom.

"Augustus had prepared for us coming to get him and blew up everything. I killed him before exiting the hideout, but lost my left arm from the elbow down as it was crushed by falling concrete walls." Hiroki explained.

"Shit! H. did you lose a lot of blood?" The chief asked.

"I don't know sir." Hiroki said as his sights darkened and fell down.

"Sir, Hiroki just passed out." J. Said.

"The chopper and paramedic are arriving in five minutes. Just hang on please."

....Chuff....chuff....chuff...chuff..chuff

Hiroki woke up inside the helicopter while hearing the sound of the blades. As he opened his eyes, Hiroki saw his team and a doctor sitting on the sides of the bed he was laying down on. He looked at them and smiled.

"H. How are you feeling?" Asked the doctor.

"I've felt better." Hiroki said as hefelt some pain on his left arm.

"You lost a lot of blood. Try to stay awake until we arrive to the hospital." T. Said.

Everyone on board had a stern look on their face.

"Hey. I'm not going anywhere, but if I do, I'm going alone. I can't take you guys with me." Hitoko said to his team. They all grinned at his antics.

"M. take care of J. and J. take care of M. He's hard headed, but has the kindest heart of everyone I've met. T. I know I've been hard on you sometimes, but I did it all for the best of you. S. I ask you to guide them well. You are now the leader." I said as they all had tears in their eyes.

"Why are you crying? Mission accomplished" Hiroki said as he gave them a smile and thumbs up, before closing his eyes and blacking out while his head hit the pillow and his hand came down.

"Doctor, what happened?" M. asked.

"The doctor quickly touched Hiroki's jugular vein and felt no blood flowing and he wasn't breathing.

"I'm sorry. Hiroki has left us." The doctor said as he told the crew. Everyone present had teary eyes. They cried for a few minutes and then S. stood up, wiped the tears away.

"Team, let's honor our captain. We have to be strong and remember how he lived and how many lives he has saved risking his own. And as the last ones he saved, we cannot let his memory go to waste." S. said.

Two days after they arrived home, the team held a funeral where not many arrived, but as time passed, more and more people came to mourn the death of a hero.
