6 Fragment 4.5: The Negg Territory

[Ryu, Cecilia, Rubia, Dimakiri and Laquari sit in a Pegariel, which is a wagon, dragged along by Pegasus and reinforced walls, upgraded comfort and stabilized flight, made with magic. It has a certain feeling to it, but isn't something Ryu would recommend. Whereas Cecilia would fully base all transport to this ride, if possible.]

R:" Are we there soon?"

D:" Soon enough, there's around one hour left."

R:" ... Oh man.."

[1 and a half hour later they reach a small farmers house. The monarch stops the pegariel and they get off. The environment seems untouched, yet like it was taken care of. The grass was deep green and was spread as far as they could see.]

R:" I suppose we are there now?"*yawns"*

D:" Yes. We cannot take you any further. One last advice - take this book. It contains the species in this world and is meant as a guide for you. Look at the entry for 'Negg' please."

C:" Okay...."*She opens that side*" Let's see:' Creatures that are easily scared, even though they might look tough. The species isn't dangerous, except they are running away from something. Their strength is around par with the human one, it shouldn't be any stronger than you. Try not to show your faces, just so you don't cause a mass-commotion."

R:" That isn't very detailed..."

D:" There is nothing else important. Except for the appearance, but you are going to recognize them. I wrote something about that on creatures with the danger to be mistaken for something else."

R:" Just to test... How do they look?"

D:" Inpatience will get you killed some time! But well. They are creatures that are best explained as... A failed human experiment."

C:" What?!"

D:" Yes. You are going to recognize 3 animals of the human world. The head of an eagle, a lion-mane with no neck at all and feet of ostriches. I have no idea who wanted to create them, but they are working well."

C:" In what ways?"

R:" I suppose that they aren't extinct is well enough for such creatures..."

C:" Ryu!!!"

R:" What? Isn't it going to be hard to survive with no actual play in the environment?"

Ru:" An unexpectedly wise statement. They had quite the problems at start, but we teached them how to get enough food."

C:" What do we gain by going through that country then? We already have food and I don't think that a shy species is able to teach us."

D:" Haha, obviously they aren't the reason you are visiting. But there is a high chance of you meeting a certain magician there. He might be able to help you"

L:" Oh god no... Not the show-off elve..."

D:" You can also try to learn magic on your own, but I suggest taking the fast way."

L:" I've seen a wizardry tower somewhere around here, I actually vote for a spooky and dirty tower over that guy."

D:" He is full of wisdom, you cannot deny that"

L:" He is full of himself. With his arrogance and pride i don't think he will teach them anyway"

C:" You seem to detest him"

L:" You'll see why soon enough."

D:" Right, I've asked him to help you two. Just like you did Laquari, he wanted to assist."

R:" I don't think Laquari is slow to judge, but such hatred has to have a reason. I vote against him"

C:" This is not a vote, you know?"

R:" Isn't it our choice in the end anyway?"

L:" At least one here is understanding me."

D:" Just go explore the town already, wait until you meet him - if you want to judge him."

[Laquari, Cecilia and Ryu enter the nearest town and get surprised by the smell. It doesn't stink, even though those creatures we're stacked in a small street. It didn't smell of anything but meat. Meat that gave Ryu feelings of hunger he never knew. They went to 'investigate' the stands, as Ryu expressed it.]

He saw a big, half raw calf, fully prepared to be eaten. He bought it and gulped it down in under 10 minutes, even though it was bigger than himself. They also bought some fruits and candy, but kept them for the moment. They discovered a tower, which Laquari identified as the sorcerers-tower he saw before. They went up to talk to the guard, but only got a giggle in return.

[The guards skin starts throwing bubbles - bigger and bigger ones until he dissolved into a red, hairy puddle. The giggling intensifies as a man with a big scar on his face gets closer. The scar is a big 17, seemingly burned or etched into him. He taps Ryu's and Cecilia's shoulders]
