4 Fragment 3: A Shepherd?!

[Around two hours after they fell into the hole, filled with boredom and make-shift games they hear a high-pitch voice with a rather unfriendly tone]

?:" Hey! Are you okay down there?"

R:" Yes, but it would've been better without this hole!"

?:" Why did you enter it then?"*he giggles, obviously at his own joke*

R:" Very funny, can you get us out now?"

?:" Without knowing you at all? No way. So tell me about yourself."

C:" What do you want to hear?"

?:" Let's start with something easy. How did you pass that barrier?"

C:" What barrier?"

?:" The one right where you came from?"

R:" How would you know where we came from?"

?:" You know, flowers don't like to be stepped on. They are still a little down."

R:" Could you stop with the jokes please"

?:" Okay, shall we assume you are actually saying the truth. How would you pass that Barrier? You two don't seem to be a friend of the fairy kingdom."

C:" So we did reach the fairy kingdom. We really didn't know about the barrier. Our elder told us to go this way and we did."

?:" Elder?"

R:" Yes. Our elder at the Riversoul-Orphanage. Can you get us out now Mr. Fairy?"

?:" Watch your tongue! Or I swear on my flowers that you ain't leaving this hole!"

R:" Oh, aren't you a fairy?"

?:" I am a PIXIE! Do you often insult your human encounters as female at the first time you meet them?"

C:" Wait, so pixie are actually just male fairys?"

?:" Yes, what else would they be?"

C:" In the human literature i read you are often described as another species. Due to the wings and your ears"

?:" Wait, there is no way you would lie about something this obvious. Do those barbarians actually not know?"

C:" No. There wasn't any friendly fairies in recent times."

?:" Understandable. But what did your elder think, sending you here?"

R:" Can we tell him about that?"

C:" We have no choice. Either we tell him or we end up staying here until we do."

?:" Fully correct"

R:" Okay, we came from the Riversoul-Orphanage to go to the dragons domain."

?:" Oh I think you mentioned that name before. I didn't believe at first. You are on your way to the dragon domain? What for?"

C:" We don't exactly know. A dragon called Mirabelle told us something about us being draconic ones and our elder send us here."

?:" Hold up. You met Mirabelle? There is no way humans know that name."

R:" Her minions told us, after she dragged us into that weird dream."

C:" Yes. The only information about the dragon emperors is their gender and the aspect of 2 of them. Aside from Mirabelle, there is only the male dragon of justice"

?:" That makes sense. Those two did appear in human territory alone. Where is Mirabelle, though? She wouldn't have left you alone."

C:" She... I don't know what happened. She burst into crystals"

?:".... how.... how did that crystals look?"*muttering about something being impossible*

C:" Like... Just like your flowers!"

?:" So she did... By the claws of the dragon god... She... She revived."

R:" So we can meet her again?"

?:" Hey boy. Shouldn't I have priority to meet her?"

R:" Why would that be?"

?:" I didn't introduce myself, huh? Way to go! Laquari bound to Mirabelle is greeting his shepherd."

C:" What bound? And... Shepherd?"

Laquari:" You actually have no idea. This is going to be interesting. Let us trade. You follow me to the fairy king and I tell you about that"

C:" Fine by me"

Ryu:" Sure."

[Laquari signals the way and they start walking at a slow pace, whilst talking]

L:" So. I'll start with my bond to Mirabelle, as I consider it more important. A bond between two creatures is something absolutely sacred. You don't want to break it and even if someone would want to, you cannot. A bond can be found at different points of life. The one I am in, is something that humans tried to imitate, in forms of marriage. Humans break it way too often, considering they tried to copy us."

C:" You were married with Mirabelle? How? You are different races!"

L:" Only humans see that as a hindrance. You yourself are proving the opposite. You both consist of the strongest warriors of two races. There is no problem at all. There is also protection bonds, which are the only one that can be artificially made, bonds of brotherhood and the one you are in. The one, that is making you our shepherd. The bond of peace."

C." How do you know that I am your shepherd?"

L:" Pretty easy. I know that one of you must be and elf and well... He is just as inconsiderate. Aside of that, you have way better ways of talking."

C:" Is there anything else I need to know? I mean, shouldn't i know as much as possible about the species I'm bound to protect?"

L:" Yes, you should. But there is someone better to explain that. Someone more fitting your rank"

C:" I don't care about ranks! I want knowledge!"

L:" Said like a true fairy. Okay, I'll tell you one last thing. Every fairy has a inborn bond. That included the last draconic shepherd. That bond is always there, but is activated later in life. On your 16th birthday, you will be called to the king. He will then examine your bond and give you your 'nature's aspect'. That aspect determines your strength, your rank and your life. Well your rank won't change, but it will make you stronger. Try to guess mine"

C:" Flowers?"

R:" How unfitting. A rude masculine fairy keeping flowers"

L:" How fitting. An idiot to rule within the idiots"

C:" Boys calm down. Is that why Mirabelle's death looked like that?"

L:" Maybe. No one beat death before."

[Suddenly Ryu bumps into someone, as he was looking at Cecilia the whole time. Cecilia and Laquari stop]
