1 The Ruins I

There was something nostalgic about falling through the hole of Ebott Mountain, something that brought tears to ones eyes. The light began to shrink, as if running away before it just became a hole in the darkness above. Then, THUD. In the middle of a ray of light a young vessel laid there with their eyes closed. Their mouth partially open as to let out a slow exhale. Frisk sat up; rubbing the back of their head, then got up and glanced around for a few moments. A small smile crept across their lips and tears formed at the corner of their eyes, only to freely fall.

"Hm..." At first glance, they didn't see or hear Chara anywhere. They could be happy. No genocidal influence. Then a dark feeling crossed through their mind. A shudder would travel down Frisk's spine before they would begin to jog slowly into the ruins further through the archway before stopping at the sight of a certain yellow peddled individual. Someone known for their annoying little use of peddle bullets, the one who tries to kill Frisk in the beginning. What am I going to do about this...? It would be obvious that they were in range of sight to Flowey, but they weren't coming closer. How would the flower respond... What was that feeling crawling up Frisk's back?

The moment Frisk caught sight of Flowery, the horrible image of his death would flash before their eyes. Shortly after the quick cut scene, a faint chuckle could be audible only to Frisk.

"Oh? So you thought you got rid of me? Aheheh, how cute, Frisk..." It was Chara. Their sheer existence fueled with hatred as it leashed onto Frisk like moth to a web. Chara would be visible only to Frisk as they ran their index finger against Frisk's chin. Chara eased in as their crimson hues gazed upon Frisk, "Now then, let's have some fu-- huh?" Chara's expression towards Frisk turned sour. Chara observed Frisk's status in silence before pulling away in disappointment. "It seem's I'll have to wait my turn. No matter..It's only a means of waiting.", keeping the details private as the demonic child faded to nothing. Chara would seem gone, but not for long. At this point, with Frisk's Level as one, Chara can not take advantage or control of Frisk. They would have to verbally influence the child to make a genocide attempt.

Flowey felt the presence of someone drawing near. Quickly turning towards the large arch of the doorway, he detected a small body lurking within the shadows. "Hm?" he questioned. Was it a monster? No. Not this deep in the ruins anyways. He would wait patiently for the creature to come closer to the light.

Frisk simply stared at Chara when they had appeared in front of them as a disturbing demonic copy of themselves, or at least somewhat of a copy. Their skin was lighter and their eyes were red, even their hair was a lighter brown. The green shirt made their right eye twitch slightly as the tears began to form more rapidly at the sighting of Chara. Though when the being disappeared, it would have seemed like Frisk was holding their breath the entire time and let out a rather sharp exhale through their nose.

Frisk stepped forward when Flowey acknowledged their presence and began walking towards the yellow petaled fiend. "Hm... I don't want a flower pollen my leg," the androgynous kid muttered under their breath before it let out a whistle which sounded more like air since they failed at doing so for the time being as they went to walk passed the flower, but stopped before turning on their heel and walking over to the yellow fiend. Frisk could always just kill Asriel so it didn't cause problems, then the feeling went crawling up their back and that thought quickly vanished.

Sorry Partner, not giving in...

As the child came closer, Flowey's black eyes widened. "A...A human?! Here in the underground?! Wait.." He took in the obvious features of this human seeing it was defenseless. Maybe this human is just as defenseless in the head if he played his cards right. "How lucky..If I can get this kid's soul- huehue~"" Flowey used all his strength to hide and conceal his smirk. He needed to play innocent long enough until this kid let's their guard down. Flowey quickly shared a friendly smile towards the human. His voice sounding ever so welcoming as he bounced his stem with joy as the human approached him.

*HOWDY!

*My Name's Flowey! Flowey the Flower!

*You must be new to the underground...Gees, you must be so confused.

*But no worries! I'll help ya out and teach you the ways of the underground!

*So then..Let's get started.

The area around Frisk and Flowey would hold the two within a square-like barrier where the areas around the two turned dark. Flowey took it upon himself to eye the human's status..it was only a level one. To suppress the urge to cackle, he gave the human a wink. "This is going to be too easy!" he wickedly bragged to himself.

"Now then! You see that LV there? That's called 'LOVE'! And trust me, you're gonna want more LOVE to help you become stronger! And it's your lucky day, friend. I got a lot of Love I can give you~" In a blink of an eye, four pellets popped up in front of Flowey. "So uh, love is shared through these things called 'Friendliness pallets'! Yeah. So, grab all the friendliness pellets, friend ! Be sure to grab them all ♥" The pellets were quickly launched forward towards Frisk without another thought given.

A shadowy figure laced itself around Frisk's shoulders. Chara arm's hugged Frisk enough to let their presence be known.

"You're not going to let this idiot get to you are ya? Oh come on, Frisky. Let's just get rid of him now...he wont be a nuisance and..Let's just put him out of his misery." Chara's voiced seemed tired. As if annoyed already with Flowey's little scheme to trick them. Only a few minutes into the game, and Chara's already falling board.

Frisk made their normal dull expression when Flowey introduced themselves as the Flowey the Flower. For some reason Frisk was ever so tempted to pick the flower, or tease it into submission. Maybe a little to much of Sans during the fight in the judgement hall rubbed off on Frisk. Shrugging to themselves as if in their own little world before theri eyes locked onto the fiend whom was talking about their level as if it meant love. "We're going through this again," The human muttered to themselves before shaking their head slightly.

"I wouldn't let you suffer, friend." Frisk grew a mellow smile and lolled their head slightly; their arms held out at acute angles by their sides as if accepting a hug... The smile even grew, granting tears again, as the chills ran up their spine when Chara made their presence known.

When Chara appeared, hugging onto Frisk from behind, wrapping their arms around the kid's shoulders. Frisk would raise a brow slightly, "Even if he does hit me, he'll take nineteen damage, then his next attack will heal the nineteen damage. Then when he goes for the third," Frisk glanced over their shoulder mumbling, "Let a mother spank their child, Chara." The only word that they said loud enough for Flowey to hear, was Chara's name.

Flowey's eyes narrowed in sheer excitement of the easy target; Letting the child take negative nineteen damage. For only a minute, something puzzled Flowey. He shifted his eyes downward as if feeling this occurrence was da ja vu was befalling upon him. He shook his head, quickly ignoring the thought a sinister smile appear on his face as he quickly responded, "AHAH! You idiot! You actrually though that- AHAHA! Wow. Who could ever miss an opportunity like this? In this world it's kill or BE killed. So just DIE!" Frisk was then surrounded by bullet's easing in to take the last of his health.

Chara on the other hand scoffed some towards Frisk's sudden change of behavior...Was Frisk really going to take a different route? Well, it seems Asri-- Flowey didnt remember. Did this go for everyone in the underground? So everything that took place was just a..a dream? No.

Chara grew angry to the thought. Everything that took place was real. Chara grew envious and greedy for control, but they wouldn't want to seem obvious and push Frisk too soon. After all, Chara was also curious to see how far this little adventure will last until Frisk would give in to temptation.

"Hmph..I suppose." Chara scoffed under their breath.

Frisk's lips quivered slightly as they felt the pellets rip through their clothes and slash their skin. Their HP dropped to one and it was going to be life or death when it came to Flowey here. The kid could smell the fire being primed as they'd glance to the side, still holding a smile across the lips despite the pain. They'd then look back to Flowey. "Hmm.." Frisk fell to their knees and continued to hold their arms out as before, as the bullets began to close in. They had thought of saying something, but Flowey would just have dismissed it, well up until it found out Frisk could use SAVE again. Frisk only laughed at the thought of Flowey getting bored of ... Memories of Flowey begging for their life surface and just as Frisk was about to actually start crying a fire ball negated the bullets and went on to send Flowey into a spiraling retreat.

"What a terrible creature, torturing a poor innocent Youth..." A goat woman appeared with a friendly smile and sympathetic tone.

"Eh?" Frisk let their arms fall to their sides and stare up at the goat mother, their mouth open slightly as they struggled to stand up and took a step back; fidgeting.

"Ah, do not be afraid my child. I'm Torie–" The goat was suddenly cut off by the human quickly moving forward and hugging the bottom half of their body. "Hm.." The goat caressed the top of the human's head. "...Toriel the Caretaker. You're the first human to have come down here in a long time," She exclaimed as the human child was rubbing their face into the front of the goat's dress.

Frisk thought of the warm memories of Toriel. Bringing them through the maze of tricks to the front door of her home. Boy, Frisk could have walked around Flowey and went right to her house and it would have turned out the same. Mommy... The child could already taste the pie again; their mouth began to water slightly.

"Thats... Quite enough my child," Toriel would give them a few pats of the head before taking their hand with a soft and motherly smile. "Come, come." Toriel would lead the child out of the area through the ruins. At some point she gave the child a phone, taught them the mazes before letting them go on their own as they went onto create a cinnamon-butterscotch pie.

Frisk however would be standing a distance away from the red flowers which were in front of the tree which lead to Toriel's house. A small happy smile across their face, but they were afraid to advance. A life with pain, a life without... A life without anyone. Here they were invincible. Though they had most definitely knocked that bowl of candy over and took all of its contents. Their inventory was full of candy. And despite what the game said, Frisk felt no guilt for that. Frisk took out their cellphone and dialed Toriel's number:

"This is Toriel."

"Hi mom,"

"Huh? Did you just call me mom? I... Uh, suppose. Would that make you happy? To call me... Mother?"

"Mhm-mhm,"

"Well then, call me whatever you like.

Frisk could sense Toriel's smile, as Frisk was also smiling.

The child began to move again and began to get closer to Toriel whom was standing by the tree with a worried expression, believing the human didn't listen, which felt odd for her obviously. When Frisk appeared from coming around the corner, Toriel only blinked twice as they were about to redial the human and rushed over to Frisk.

After a short conversation, Toriel offered to heal them and lead them inside. Frisk strayed however and went over to the save point, left to the door and SAVED themselves. They felt restored, their HP refilled once more and their damage tended to. Frisk went inside and stood there in front of Toriel whom shouted,

"SURPRISE" She held her hands clasped together in front of herself, "It's a butterscotch-cinnamon pie, I thought we would celebrate your arrival." The conversation as usual proceeded, Frisk had already memorized it. This was the first time... When she stopped them from leaving that she had forced Frisk to fight her in order to leave. Frisk would never forget the look on her face when she found how dangerous the human was to be trifled with; despite the fact that after taking enough damage, Toriel wouldn't finish the human off.

Toriel had left the child in front of the bedroom having pet their head in order to go look at the Pie which might be burning. Frisk let out a heavy sigh, hugging themselves as they would push the door open and look around. They missed this room. How many days did they sleep here before they tried leaving before... Frisk waddled on over and face flopped right on the bed.
