Spaghetti Fiends

'Yeah. Okay kid...'

Those words didn't sound like they were accepting what they had said and even then, it sounded like he thought the kid was messing with him. As the child predicted in one of many scenarios. That hurt them even more, knowing they were correct. If only Chara would do something other than torment them or be all 'I told you so.' When the child entered the Kitchen and looked up at Papyrus after being asked if they were okay, the child would simply nod lightly and finish off wiping their face.

The human would then proceed to go further into the kitchen and take in the scent of the spaghetti. Their mouth began to water immensely as their stomach finally found that it was going to have food and growled. Though as they watched Sans go by and pull out a chair before sitting, they tilted their head. He felt a bit darker and definitely unhappy while in his deep thought. Guilty Frisk was, but still, their determination was growing.

With the help of Papyrus, they navigated the kitchen and made their way over to the round table and pulled out the chair which was beside the comedian and climbed up into it. The tongue of the human ran along the interior of their lips before they glanced over at Sans when he began to mutter. The forced smile that he wore made the kid sweat-drop a bit, only to lower their head a little as they laughed at the pun he made.

Frisk could be considered to have two stomachs considering they could eat a lot of food in one or many sittings. They were Frisky after all, the more calories, the more they burn. On days like this kids like you should be burning in hell! The child was struck by a flashback, causing them to bite into their arm Which probably would have been an awkward sight for the two skeletons before the humans gave them their own forced smile and a blush.

At least Papyrus enjoyed their brother's joke and even ended up making it part of his own speech. The human laughed at the mix up and couldn't stop for a little while before picking up a silver fork and twirling the spaghetti and shoveling it into their mouth. "Mmmm~"

"Better put some meat on them bones~" The human joked and continued to eat the pasta, enjoying the taste despite the metallic feeling in their mouth. They were nervous, nauseous almost. An anxiety attack. Their hands felt heavy, but light at the same time. It was hard to move, hard to swallow, hard to keep tears from coming and their body from shaking. Did they ruin their chances with the skeleton? With the pace they had been eating the human would have finished the plate in about twenty minutes after having slowed down at fer the second mouthful. There wasn't even any sauce left on the plate either... It almost looked like it was gone, much like what happens when you feed something to a dog.

Blinking a few times when thoughts surfaced to their heads, the human began to space out into some form of daydream. Their eyes closed now as they sat there blushing a bit. An image of flowey on their right shoulder while hooking their left arm around Sanses arm... Determination instantly filled the room.

Sans looked over to the child as he heard the hum of a delicious meal coming from the child. Papyrus also looked to the child and smiled. As the child made a joke, it made Sans chuckle, he couldn't help but not stay mad for too long. Even though he was a little worried in the back of his mind. Papyrus on the other hand, he winced to the joke and scoffed. "Oh god. Not you too.." he nagged. Sans! You're a bad influence on the human." of course he was joking. He actually enjoyed that the two of them were getting along. Despite the slight negativity that lifted from the two only minutes ago.

Papyrus was smarter than many knew; he may act oblivious, but he did this to keep his own mind at bay. He wanted to believe there was good in everyone. No matter of their past. He believed that anyone could be good..if they tried. Sans could leave the child hanging, "I know right? But shouldn't be talking. From the look of things, don't you think you're meaty enough?" he asked referring to the child's human flesh compared to his skinless bones. Papyrus continued to eat the meal, but Sans was barely eating. Taking small bites at a time as he twirled the fork in the spaghetti. "Uhm. Sans?" papyrus called out. Watching as Sans looked up from his plate with the look of concern still in his eyes. "Are...are you sure you're okay? I know you said you had headaches from earlier. If you want to eat later, you can get some rest." Papyrus was hoping to reach out to his brother. He loved him dearly, but he didnt want to come off too pushy or clingy.

"Uhhh..." Sans looked down to his plate pondering on how to answer. He was tired, but he wanted to ask the child some questions. Get answers. But he could hear it in his brother's tone that he was growing worried about him. "You know what. Sure." he admitted. He was tired and no use in coming off grouchy to the kid in his worst mood. He scooted the chair back and lifted himself up. But as Sans escorted to the door way, "Oh! And...why did we lie about the human to Undyne, Sans? IF you don't mind me asking.." Sans white pupils jitted to the question. Exactly, how could he answer that without spilling too much information?

"Uh. Because, bro. She would have taken the kid to the king. If she did that, the kid wouldnt be able to get a taste of your yummy meal, ya know? Besides, there's no harm in the kid staying a little longer, right?" he asked with a cheeky smile. He peaked over his shoulder to Papyrus who was nodding in agreement.

"That's SO true, Sans. By the way, how is the meal human?" he knew the child was enjoying the meal from the hums of delight, but he needed to hear the child's verbal review on the pros and cons of the meal. That way, he will know what to work on for future meals for the family.

Sans allowed the two to converse with one another. He showed himself out the kitchen and towards the staircase where his room was located. In the meantime, Chara appeared in Sans' empty seat, looking to Frisk with their elbow against the table and rested their chin against the palm of their hand. "Wow. I wonder how much he despises you.." the first fallen child spoke. "I mean, you could have been a little discreet, you know? And I wonder how long it'll take Asriel to confront you.." Chara could sense the tiny flower's present nearby. Following the aura of the nosy weed, they located Flowery hiding near the back end of the house trying to peak in from the kitchen's only window.

When Sans had explained to the younger, much taller, brother about what would have happened if the strange fish creature had taken the kid. Frisk would continue eating, dismissing it as the human didn't really want to get involved in that conversation. The more that the skeleton knew, the more at risk that Papyrus's life would be, considering his naivety they could be labelled as a sympathizer by the King which wouldn't at all be good. That and he would probably be in a rather bad mood considering the humans whom came down here, whether or not they were hostile, were killed by the King and his orders. A kill or be killed world was something that the humans had to endure when down here against certain monsters. It was something that the King needed in order to get the souls after all. Even though he didn't have to go as far as killing them. If he had created a family similar to the one he had with Chara, things would have gone on easier; they wouldn't have to explain to any humans above ground how they opened the barrier either. The kid closed their eyes tightly at the thought before they were suddenly interrupted from their thoughts.

Looking up at Papyrus and noticing Sans had left the room, they blinked a few times and looked up at the skeleton as it was asking them what they thought of the meal, or at least, how it tasted. "It tastes amazing, The child would state with a bright smile and light blush of glee. This was better than the surface, times probably a hundred. Right now the area near Ebott was being destroyed between two nations fighting over a city-state which tried to remain neutral. There was nothing left for the human to go back to, but they were for some reason originally determined to escape this hellhole where creatures forced their violent will against them simply because of orders from the king. "Have you ever thought of opening a galley in for the Royal Guardsmen? I'm sure they'd love your food," the human would suggest before looking over at Chara as they appeared and sat in Sans seat.

Arching a brow at the fallen human, it would probably seem strange that the human was staring into space to Papyrus. Hearing them talk about how much Sans hates them because of what they've done and what they're going to tell them, the human simply shrugged in response. There was nothing really wrong with what will happen. It can be fixed. Everything can be fixed as long as it is changed. If it doesn't work out, just try again as long as you're determined.

Their eyes then wandered over to the Kitchen window and they smiled a bit once more before tilting their head to the side. Putting their last mouthful back onto the plate. "I think I know someone who might like your food. Though they are a bit cold. They probably won't mean what they say," The human said as they got up from their seat and walked over to the window; opening it half way before peering out towards Flowey, folding their arms under them as their feet were suspending in the air as they leaned on the windowsill. "Howdy Friend," the human teased, "Whatcha doing down there?" They mouthed the name Asriel at the end of the sentence, but didn't say their name out loud.

Papyrus smiled happily to the child's comment. Oh how he was filled with much more joy that the child was a guest enjoying his culinary skills. He wish he could somehow share his skills with others sometimes. He was loved by everyone....so he thought. PApyrus was bullied at quite a young age. Before Sans and Papyrus reached a stable living, they lived in snowdin in the alley behind Grilby's. Papyrus remembers it often, but he hides his shame and disappear behind a smile. He believes there's good in everyone ever since he first met Grilby; taking the skeleton brothers in to his bar to feed them properly. Sans on the other hand never really ate. He'd give his meals to Papyrus just to assure his little brother was never hungry. The two brothers use to live with-- hm. It seems Papyrus couldn't remember anything past that memory. Whatever the case, he only knows that his brother Sans as always been there for him.

Papyrus looked to the child as they suggested to open a Galley for the royal guardsman. It actually lifted Papyrus spirits when it was asked. "I-..I never thought about doing that.." His words sounding uncertain. As if having doubts in himself. "Do..Do you really think my skills are that good? I mean, I'm physically able to fight and help Undyne in battle. I just don't want to feel..." he didn't want to say the world, 'useless'. The thought of when towns people made fun of Papyrus' came rushing back. Sans was always the one defending him. Papyrus would never fight back. He'd take a beating hoping his words would get through to others. But his words never reached them. Even to this day, he forgives them all. He wants to be someone worth looking up to, not feared, but admired.

Papyrus then awaited for the child as they said they knew of a friend. Would this help lift his spirits? Of course he was all for meeting new friends, and to show off his skills, he looked down, looking away feeling a tad bit embarrassed. He never really fed anyone other than Sans and Undyne. This was all too soon for Papyrus, but he was willing to try anything once. After all, things are going so well with the human. What could go wrong? He nodded his head in agreement and lifted from his chair to grab another plate. Whoever the child's friend was would need their own dish.

Flowery was found still peaking into the home of the skeleton brothers. His steam stretched into an arch from the ground as he purposely grew the steam longer than normal just to see inside. He quickly arched backwards as the human came to the window, opening it half way and speak to the yellow flower who quickly shrunk back to size on the ground looking up to the child. He was silently staring at the child. Taking in their features one last time to make sure he was certain on what he wanted to say.

"I uh...Ch-Chara?" the flower's voiced didn't seem all to evil like before. Instead, it almost sounded like Asriel reaching out from the flower. Chara was no longer in Sans' seat the moment the child lifted up. Instead, they disappeared only to reappear the moment the fallen child's name was spoken from the Flower. Chara appeared behind the Flower as they stood there with their hands behind their back, looking down at the flower from behind.

"You are Chara, right? I mean...Why else would you look like them.." Chara narrowed their eyes in detest at the flower. from behind. Their hatred slowly starting t brew, but only Frisk would be able to feel it latching onto their soul. "I missed you! See, I didn't forget about you..A part of me knew you were here somewhere, I just didn't know where." The flower was hurting inside, these feelings he was spilling out damaged the flower from the inside out. Tears appearing in the corner of his eyes as he waited for the child, who he wants to believe is Chara, to reply.

Whether or not Papyrus's skills were that good or not, didn't matter. Usually home cooked meals tasted better than combat rations. They even tasted better than restaurant cooked meals half the time and were much cheaper in terms of gold. Letting out a sigh the human would simply nod to the idiotic skeleton with a light smile across their lips before turning back towards Flowey whom identified Frisk as Chara, only for Chara to appear behind the flower with such hatred in their soul. It almost hurt Frisk seeing them like this. Did the fallen human blame the prince for what had transpired? Or have they always hated them? No, from what they said before, Chara didn't have any hatred for the Prince, not until they called Frisk Chara.

Why else would they look like them, huh? Well, they did have a similar fashion taste in striped clothes, but they wore different colors. They had different complexion. The only thing that is the same is the smell of dust. The eerie feeling which looms behind them. Frisk's eyes opened a bit more and looked up to Chara for a few seconds then back down at the flower, offering their hand to Asriel to take. "..." Frisk had no idea what to say, did they want to tell them that Chara is there but lacks a physical form? That they're full of hate? That they woke them up by falling on the bodies of the six other humans.

That's when it snapped in Frisk's mind. That fall should have killed Frisk after they had jumped. They didn't just fall, they jumped. Why did they survive? "Partially, Chara's not whole," The human replied to the Flower after great hesitation to say anything. "If we can get all the other human souls to restore you, you can have your body back. Then you can help restore the rest of Chara," the human informed with a whisper, their grand plan. "Father only needs one living soul to lower the barrier, after all."
