6 Alchemist Association

From Tian's body former owner memories, Tian knew that the Alchemist Association wasn't a weak existence in Glory City. Even if the Alchemists inside Glory City were in great decline, more so in the eyes of Tian, they still rivalled the power of the 3 Great Families.

With such powerful entity guarding his back, Tian wouldn't have to fear many inside Glory City apart from the 3 Great Families. Furthermore, with Tian knowledge about Alchemy, the Association would be strengthened and will be able to rise again to the top.

However, as such an entity, gaining its favour was difficult. The only way Tian thought he could do so, was showing them his capabilities. Showing them that with his in his side, they will rise again. The only way to do so would be with the Alchemy Test.

Tian didn't have any intention to learn from the Association, on the other hand, they would be more likely to learn from him. The test was worth 200 Demon Spirit Coins, Tian had to gather a bit more in case his plans didn't go his way. Having always a back up was something he learned over the years.

The Alchemist Association is a huge construct. Made up of different pavilion, it's one of the great landmarks inside Glory City. Just the courtyard pavilion is huge. Inside it, one could see different Alchemist wearing coloured robes.

Looking at them, chatting and exchanging ideas, Tian couldn't help but reminiscent of his younger days. Looking at the different robes, Tian realized that the colour of the robes meant the same in Glory City.

If an Alchemist can be divided into different ranks: Apprentice, Master and Grandmaster. With every rank being further divided into Primary, Intermediate and Senior. Then the Apprentice would wear grey robes, the Masters would wear white robes and the Grandmasters would wear silver robes. Of course, Tian on his previous life reached the top of Alchemy. Everyone would shiver looking at his silvery robe.

Seeing the amount of Alchemist in the courtyard, he realized something –"Aren't there a tad too few? I know they are a bit on the decline, but, why wouldn't they want to enter the marvellous life of alchemy? Maybe inside there are more…"

Resolving himself, Tian entered the Association. There was nothing to lose, or rather everything to win. Inside, a young lady wearing grey robes approached him "Nice to have you here, what can I do for you?" -The young lady voice was soft and from her behaviour, one could tell she was the receptionist.

"Hello, I'm here to take the Alchemist Exam"

"You mean the Apprentice Alchemist Exam, right?" -The young lady looked at Tian, who was still too young to be prepared for such a test- "Are you prepared? Remember that you must be familiar with over 10 alchemy foundation books. If not, you will just waste 200 Demon Spirit Coins"

Hearing the young lady, Tian could only smile. Was there any fundamental principle that they would know, Tian didn't know? Probably no. Tian's mind couldn't help but wonder to the Purple Haze Grass matter. Are you the ones asking me if I lack basic knowledge? You who don't even know 1 basic use of the Purple Haze Grass?

"Yes, I'm quite prepared but I do have a question. Can I attend more than one exam on the same day?"

Xiao Lan, the young lady, was quite surprised at the young man question. Of course, one could attend more than one exam on the same day, however, it was pointless. Many spend a month after failing an exam studying to learn from their mistakes. Yet, he was planning to do so. Was he planning to try until he got an easier set of pages, however, there's no way to use that tactic to pass the practical part.

"Yes, but you are required to pay 200 Demon Spirit Coins upfront before taking any exam. But I wonder why you would want to do so?"

Tian looked at the receptionist, maybe the ways the alchemist test here worked differently – "I'm not supposed to take first the Apprentice before taking the Master test?"

"What? You want to take the Master exam?" -Xiao Lan looked at Tian. There was no way such a young boy would be able to take such an exam.

Just the Apprentice exam was difficult, but the Master exam was only taken by apprentices spent more than a decade learning as an apprentice. The raw experience and fundamentals needed to become a master was something that made many apprentices spend the rest of their lives as such.

Even if one could learn the fundamentals, there was a need for an amount of experience that one could only gather after years and years brewing elixir. If just the apprentice exam was going to be difficult for a young boy of his age, the Master exam was just impossible. And that was because unlike the apprentice that was just theoretical, the Master exam had a practical test.

"Yes, is that a problem?" -Tian looked at the receptionist. If he was having so much trouble to just get into the exam, what's going to happen when he passes it?

"No, there isn't any problem. One can take directly the Master exam, but…" -She looked at Tian. There wasn't any age requirement to enter the exams, as such, she couldn't refuse Tian.

There wasn't any reason to reject Tian. Even if Xiao Lan didn't think he was prepared.

"Then here you have, 200 Demon Spirit Coins. I would want to join the Master exams." -Tian handed quite happily the Coins to the receptionist. If he was able to pass the hassle of taking the Apprentice exam, better for him.

Seeing the joyful expression of Tian face, Xiao Lan couldn't help but wonder where this kid confident came from. On her eyes, there was no way he will be able to pass the exam. Those 200 Demon Spirit Coins that Tian managed to save up were just going to be wasted. Still, she didn't care. It wasn't her money. She only needed to do her job.

After taking the small pouch of money and counting it. She asked for Tian's name and wrote it on a piece of paper before facing Tian. She spoke – "Follow me"
