Revenge

Now that all was well in their own camp, Hong Yue Xian gathered the girls to plan their revenge against the wolf packs. The danger of wolves was their habit of forming large groups, so to fight them they would need to defend against the minions first before the leaders will make their move. The reason the Legend rank wolves attacked Shen Xiu first was because they thought she was easy prey, not expecting Hong Yue Xian to be so fast and fierce.

The group discussed different plans and thought about different contingencies. They made sure to take note of ways to escape, in case the odds are not in their flavour. They discussed till noon, before setting off.

"By the way, Xian, how will we find those wolves to get revenge? They could have left far away already." Inquired Shen Xiu. "One of my abilities allows me to remember the scent of whoever I met. Even if they leave far away from here, I would still be able to track them. I can tell that they are still nearby." Explained Hong Yue Xian.

"Oh. Now that you mention it, how come in the previous battle you used similar abilities as mine, not to mention many others as well." Wondered Yang Xin as she stared at him intently. Straight away he could feel three piercing gazes looking at him suspiciously. He coughed awkwardly. "I have the ability to appropriate the abilities of other demon beasts. I took some from the Nether Panther and the others, giving me many tricks up my sleeve." Admitted Hong Yue Xian, as he smiled at them innocently, making girls giggle at his fake facial expression.

Soon they found the wolf pack. Hong Yue Xian had them all hide as they formulated a more detailed plan. "Alright you all know the plan, you three will take on the wolf pack. Should the three Legend ranks make a move, I will stop them. Remember, the key is to use minimal strength to the greatest effect. Conserve your energy and do not let your guard down, alright? Good. Let's start." Advised Hong Yue Xian before giving them the green light.

The girls immediately merged with their demon spirits and charged at the wolves, who noticed them and began growling in agitation. The three Legend ranks were much smarter than normal demon beasts, and recognised them. The wolves howled, giving orders to the whole pack to charge as well. It seemed they planned to overwhelm the girls with their numbers.

Several days earlier it would have worked but this time the girls immediately stopped in their tracks , and waited patiently for the beasts. Huyan Lanruo stood at the front and used her illusions to control several stronger beasts to fight and create a barrier around her. She left a big opening to the side, allowing the beasts to rush in. Shen Xiu met them with her well known ferocity and used only Fire Claws to attack the demon beasts vitals and kill the beasts. Those she could not kill in one move would be finished off by Yang Xin.

Hong Yue Xian watched as the countless wolves surrounded the trio yet could not do anything to them. The girls created a circle of death inside the small beast horde. Like an island in the sea of beasts. As more and more demon beasts fell under their mutual effort, the Legend rank wolves could no longer stay calm.

The three gigantic wolves rushed towards the circle, intending to break it and slaughter the detestable humans, however, another human appeared in front of them. Hong Yue Xian looked at them amusedly before pouncing. The Legend rank wolves remembered him and felt hesitant but seeing him brazenly attacking, were spurred to battle.

Hong Yue Xian used his Iron Claws to block the attacks from two wolves and used the Nether Evasion to avoid the third wolf's sneak attack. The three wolves were smart and understood that it was very difficult to defeat him. They slyly glanced at the distant girls and hatched a plan. How could Hong Yue Xian not guess that they would want to go after the girls instead.

He did not wait for them and attacked. He used Wind Steps and rushed to one of the wolves. He used one of his claws to block its retaliation and prepared to hit it with another, when he was attacked by another wolf, while the third charged at him from the side. The attack caused Hong Yue Xian to give up his attack and block the two incoming threats, except the last wolf did not attack and rushed past him, heading straight for the girls.

Hong Yue Xian saw that and sighed in his heart. 'Wow. These wolves are quite smart. But sometimes being clever gets you killed.' With that Hong Yue Xian chuckled as electric sparks appeared on his body. He helped refine the Thunder Wind Hawk for Xiao Ning'er, so he had its abilities as well. The Thunder Surge was the ability that used the user as the centre and discharged thunderbolts in all directions.

The bolts hit and electrocuted the three wolves. The one charging past got the worst as it was the closest. It had half of its body burned. Hong Yue Xian kicked that wolf on the side and sent it flying. It would take a while for it to get up. Meanwhile, he used his Tail Blade to slit the very first wolf's throat.

Now it was only the second wolf, that was really attacking him, left. The wolf got some distance and glared at Hong Yue Xian. It saw its companions and felt the numbness of its body, considering whether to flee or not.

As Hong Yue Xian saw the intent to draw back in the wolf's eyes, he charged at it and shot a huge Fireball. The wolf was caught unprepared and had to jump away in a hurry, spinning its body to avoid the flames. Little did it realise that in the place where it was about to land, Hong Yue Xian appeared with his Nether Escape and used a big Wind Blade to cut off the wolf's head in midair.

Finally finished with the wolf, Hong Yue Xian glanced at the rest of the battlefield. He could see the last surviving Legend rank wolf trying to get up as it growled and howled form pain. He looked further and saw the girls concluding their fight as well. He walked towards them and shouted.

"Good job girls! Xiu'er, that Legend rank wolf is yours. Xin'er, please guard her back." Shen Xiu heard him and immediately rushed at the wolf, with Yang Xin following behind.
