Comforting

Hong Yue Xian watched Shen Xiu disappear from view and changed clothes, putting on a black cloak. After that he followed closely behind her, while staying hidden. He asked Shen Xiu to act the same and wait for his word before leaving the Sacred Family, however, he still had doubts about her. He believed she was trustworthy but as they say 'believe but double check', so he decided to spy on her and see what she was going to do.

Soon both of them arrived at the Sacred Family compound. Hong Yue Xian managed to sneak in to the main hall easily, as the precautions were made against Black Gold ranks, while he was a Legend rank. He peered inside through a crack and could see Shen Xiu enter the hall where Shen Hong was seated.

"Shen Xiu! Where have you been? What took you so long? You made me wait!" Shen Hong barked at Shen Xiu furiously.

"Where was I? I was in the bathhouse washing myself clean. After what you made me endure I felt tainted and disgusted, so I needed time to recover. Plus it was not me you were waiting for, right? Here, the money is in there. All 500 million. Now if you don't mind I want to be left alone." Shen Xiu snorted in disgust and threw the ring at Shen Hong before leaving the main hall with a cold expression. Shen Hong caught the ring and checked the amount. Satisfied, he began to plan how to use it.

Meanwhile, Hong Yue Xian kept following Shen Xiu to her courtyard. The moment she was alone, she sat on the bed and started to cry. Even though she knew what kind of people her family members were, her being not much better herself, and even decided to leave the Sacred Family already, it was still a hard blow to receive such treatment from her own brother. She could understand being ruthless and cruel to others, but kind and caring to those close, however, her brother only cared about his own interests. She felt heartbroken and cold at his actions.

Hong Yue Xian saw her state and felt guilty for doubting Shen Xiu. He quietly entered the room and hugged her from behind, startling her. When she saw it was him, she relaxed and snuggled into his body, feeling the warmth and the care. Soon she drifted to sleep.

When she woke up hours later she was still in Hong Yue Xian's embrace. She was very touched and felt her heart start to heal. But then she started to wonder why he was there. Hong Yue Xian knew it was inevitable so he sighed and asked. "Do you want the truth or what you want to hear?"

Shen Xiu hesitated and bit her lip, before asking for the truth. "The truth is I have two reasons why I am here. First, I was worried about you, worried that if Shen Hong suspected anything he would try to silence you. I could not let that happen. The second... I had doubts whether you would really leave your family for me. In case you decided to tell everything to your brother, I would have had to kill you. Forgive me, I was wrong to doubt you." Confessed Hong Yue Xian guiltily, as he caressed her face.

Shen Xiu felt a bit sad but she thought about it and realised she could not really blame him, besides he did not have to tell her that. He could have lied but he was honest with her. She decided to forgive him, though not before giving him a payback. She hit his chest hard several times, causing him to suck in a cold breath from the pain. "I understand but it does not mean I will let you off easy. I expect you to make it up to me." Smiled Shen Xiu wickedly.

"I promise to make it up to you. Actually, I am going to start making it up to you right now." Chuckled Hong Yue Xian as he pressed her body on the bed and kissed her lips. He felt her arms and legs wrap around his body in expectation, and began undressing both of them. Soon the room was full of spring scenery and beastly sounds.

The whole next week Hong Yue Xian spent his time in the company of his three lovers. All of them were very demanding of him, but he could always outlast them all. After training every day Hong Yue Xian realised that his physical stamina was many times greater than before. No matter how much he trained he did not get tired. He connected it to his nightly activities and concluded that his ability improved not only his soul force and physical strength, but also his stamina, including sexual. It would also explain his sudden growth spurt, as it happened after he devoured all those experts from the Nether Realm. Still he was not the one to look a gift horse in the mouth, he was just curious. In fact he was thankful for his ability as it was truly the best.

The next day Hong Yue Xian received news that Nie Li and gang had returned from the Dark Prison Realm. He went to the City Lord's Mansion to see Xiao Ning'er, and asked her about her trip, however, she said she was forbidden to talk about it by the City Lord. She felt guilty and distraught at that, but Hong Yue Xian knew everything already so he comforted her, which only made her to tear up even more.

Eventually, after an hour of consoling he finally managed to calm her down and lift her spirits. After that Hong Yue Xian chatted with Nie Li and his gang, and Ye Ziyun. He pretended not to notice anything strange with a giant guy having two huge black wings on his back, and returned home.

Several more days passed when suddenly the alarm bell was sounded, signalling a demon beast horde. The whole city was anxious as all experts made way to the City Lord's Mansion, where Ye Zong assigned them their posts. Hong Yue Family was tasked to defend the West Gate, but Hong Yue Xian excused himself and went to the South Gate instead. He wanted to see for himself what the million demon beast horde looked like.
