Chapter no.161 Saint Soul Ground

A silence had enveloped the entire stadium as no one said anything as everyone's mind's blanked for a second.

Did they just see the genius of the dragon seal family get defeated in two moves.

Hu Yong snapped out of his daze and immediately flew down towards his fiancee.

A look of worry flashed across his eyes as he touched the lacerations covering Long Yuyin's face.

Immediately turning to the side , Yu Hong's aura erupted as he went into his demon spirit form " Omega Angel Dragon "

A beam of light escaped Yu Hong's talons as it made its way towards the retreating Lin Lingtian who didn't turn around but one of the wooden slipper Lin Lingtian was wearing was thrown in the air as it intercepted the beam of light.

Under the shocked eyes of everyone , the wooden slipper withstood the damage and the force of the beam of light pushed the slipper into an arc as it lands onto Lin Lingtian's path. Lin Lingtian didn't even blink as his foot slipped into slipper and he continued walking leaving behind a shocked Yu Hong and flabbergasted audience.

Many of whom where quite interested in the indentity of the mysterious substitute.

Gu Bei and Gu Lan greeted Lin Lingtian with a bow.

" Master !"

" Yeah , Yeah , Yeah. Next time don't let you anger get the best of you. So what if someone insulted me , their words don't have any weight to them nor do their words effect me ."

" Yes ! Master , this disciple will follow your instructions with all he has."

" Whatever ."

" Master ! Do you some kind of training in mind for me ?"

Lin Lingtian opened his mouth to tell Gu Bei to fuck off but his second mind reminded him that he could use this as an opportunity to see what would happen if a person with a predetermined fate stays around a fateless entity.

" Come to the house at 3 in the morning , your training will start from there."

" Yes , Master !"

With that Lin Lingtian disappeared with a twist of space.

The next morning

Ying Yueru sat on the porch as she gazed at Lin Lingtian tortu....training Gu Bei .

They were up so early that even the fog in the courtyard hadn't dispersed yet. The flowers that lined the path and the artificial mountain were still clothed in dew, appearing very lovely.

Interestingly Lin Lingtian had Gu Bei dodge a couple of stones that had been coated with a trace of Lin Lingtian's inner world meaning those stones were without a predetermined path decided by fate.

Gu Bei normally couldn't dodge the stones Lin Lingtian had thrown but with these fateless stones Gu Bei was being tortured rather than trained.

" Is this training that helpful ?" Ying Yueru curiously asked as Lin Lingtian just smirked in response.

Shaking her head , Ying Yueru went back into the house intending to start cultivating using the technique that Lin Lingtian had given her which used her original cultivation technique as a basis.

" Lin Lingtian , do you want to go to somewhere with me ?"

"Where?"

"One of the three major testing grounds of Skysoul Institute: the Saint Soul Grounds!"

"The Saint Soul Grounds is the safest testing ground among the three of the Skysoul Institute; however, its requirements are pretty high. Only those who have a Soul quality of a certain degree are allowed in." Ying Yueru lightly smiled as she continued, "Wait until we're there, then you'll know."

Guided by Ying Yueru , Lin Lingtian and Gu Bei left the courtyard.

Some distance away, a few people were eyeing the three of them as they left and held a discussion in soft voices.

"The three of them left together! We'll go back and report to Young Master Hua Ling. You guys follow them and keep a close eye on them!"

"Yes!" Several people followed after Lin Lingtian's group who were very well aware of them.

Lin Lingtian and the other two continued walking the road.

"There seems to be someone following behind us," Ying Yueru said as Lin Lingtian glanced at his disciple.

Gu Bei, who was next to him, smiled as he said, "They're a bunch of clowns. Pay no attention to them. Within the Skysoul Institute, they won't be able to do anything to us. If we were headed either of the other two testing grounds, perhaps they'd be able to cause some trouble for us. But inside the Saint Soul Grounds, they can just dream of it!"

Lin Lingtian meanwhile picked up a few pebbles and launched them into the air.

Manipulating causality and plausibility , those pebbles under Lin Lingtian's command crashed into the skulls of those who were following them.

Instantly killing them as there were transfered into the soul hall.

While the three of them headed towards the Saint Soul Grounds, parties from various factions were already focusing their attentions on their actions.

At the south side of the Skysoul Institute was a valley that was part of a mountain range. The plants and trees that flourished here, reaching sizes that would require several people holding hands to encircle a single trunk. Hundreds of people were gathered in the wide field that served as the entrance of the valley, forming a sea of heads that bobbed back and forth. At the center of this crowd was a huge stone tablet dozens of meters tall that sparkled with a dazzling luster. On the top of this tablet was a line of ancient text that said 'Saint Soul Board'.

"Over there is the Saint Soul Board. Only students who place within the top two hundred inside the Saint Soul Grounds are listed on the Saint Soul Board."

The surface of the tablet was densely packed with names. Lin lingtian swept a quick glance over the list and actually saw some familiar names. That Long Yuyin from the Dragonseal Family was ranked tenth while Jin Yan of the Jin Clan was ranked twenty-third. Hua Ling was also included in the list, ranking sixty-seventh. Huang Ying was ranked in the one hundred thirty-seventh spot.

As for Gu Bei, he wasn't listed at all. However, after considering it for a bit, it also made sense. Gu Bei was concealing his strength and biding for time; therefore, he definitely won't reveal his strength so casually.

Lin Lingtian knitted his brows as he inquired, "The Saint Soul Board isn't ranked in terms of strength?"

If it had been based on strength, then the ranking definitely wouldn't be like this. At least Hua Ling was currently stronger than Long Yuyin and Jin Yan by a little. However, he was also a lot older than Long Yuyin and Jin Yan.

"It's not ranked in terms of personal strength, but their soul's ability to communicate with the Heaven and Earth energies.
