Dong! Dong! Dong!

The bell went off throughout Glory City. Class has ended.

The Holy Orchid Institute's students rushed out of the huge gates, and passed through the bustling street in front. The merchants sounded off one after another.

But one particular kid went solemnly in the direction of Holy Orchid Institute library. This one was of course Nei Li. He refused the offer to hang out with Lu Piao and Du Ze.

Soon, Nei Li stepped into the prestigious library of Holy Orchid Institute, contrary to his expectations there were quite a few students present here. The smell of old furniture assaulted his nostrils.

He quickly swept his gaze sizing up the library, the area had a strange calming prestige present in it. He without any slip in his expression walked forward and grabbed a random book and searched for a isolated corner.

Although the students were not few, looking at the sheer size of the establishment and proportionally fewer people, one can safely say many are not too fond of books.

He walked a fleet of stairs and sat into a isolated corner with no one present. There was a broad table, he stationed the book on the table and opened it. In this space One side was facing entrance and other side the Window. It was an amazing space to study calmly without distraction.

Nei Li finally reached the end of his curiosity, although his power of perseverance is quite high. He was still venerable to this development. He cleared his mind and tried to call up the system from him mind firstly.

After he ignored the system for a while, the pop up window shut down by itself, so Nei Li wanted to see if he can bring it up. He decided to use his thoughts to call for it, since he didn't wanted to be labelled a crazy dude.

'System'

[ Beep! Welcome to the system, host]

'It worked' Nei li sighed. He has a lot of question to ask from this system, If he couldn't access the system just because he thought of being a little assured, he would have really died from regret.

'Can you please explain all that is happening here?, I mean my existence, your presence inside my head and the reason for all of this' Nei li fired a volley of Questions.

[ Beep! System cannot answer all these questions now, Host has not meet the requirements yet ]

Nei Li looked Unphased, he half expected that he is not going to get any proper reply. Still System reply did stumped him.

" So, what are you then?"

[ System is programmed to help host. ]

" How exactly? "

[ Beep! That is for the host to decide]

Nei li made a weird face at this statement, he was not able to get any answer for any of this strange phenomena.

[ The system will provide host with two options to choose from. From his choice the system future help will be determined. The Choices are irreversible. System advice host to choose properly! ]

[ The Choice is to set the setting of the system and to set the future application of the said choice.]

Nei Lo raised an eyebrow. He cannot understand the meaning behind such an action. But the sentence that these choices are irreversible, took him by surprise and he became serious. "Show me the options"

[ Option 1: Active System, The system will give 4 Function in this Setting. These functions are - Missions ( Host will be given mission by system and successful completion will be awarded){Punishment for failure is applied}, Store( Host can be awarded system points, which he can use to buy many things from the system via store function ), Inventory ( A special space that can hold inanimate things){The space will increase as the cultivation increases} , Creation ( Host can be buy recipe for Alchemy, blacksmith etc. where if he collects the ingredients the system will create them for host) {susceptible to failure}.

ONCE HOST CHOOSE THIS OPTION, HE CAN NEVER SURPASS THE LIMITS SET BY THE SYSTEM]

[ Option 2 : Passive System, The system will give 3 Function in this Setting. These functions are - Hidden Missions ( System will not issue any missions but If Host successful completes a hidden mission he will be awarded){Since the mission was never established, host will never be punished for failure}, Inventory ( A special space that can hold inanimate as well as alive things){The space will increase as the cultivation increases} , Import ( Host can bring any one thing that was present on Earth to this world and it will be merged with his soul.) { The things could be anything as long as it's existence was on Earth, irrespective of it's practicality, availability or development.}

ONCE HOST CHOOSE THIS OPTION, HOST WILL BE UNBOUNDED TO ANY LIMITS SET BY THE SYSTEM ]

Nei Li looked at both the option, carefully reading it again and again. He closed his eye and rested his head on the table. This decision is something that will decided his future endeavours. In mind he has already made his decision the moment he read the last line on both the Options.

He has vowed to reach the pinnacle of this world, how can he break a promise he made just moments ago. His is not one to break his vow but he is also not stupid enough to make rash decisions based on whims.

He carefully weighted the pros and cons of both the options and bombarded the system with questions after questions. Finally after being satisfied he made his decision notable.

'System, I will choose the options 2' There was no indecisiveness in his voice, since he has made his decision, whatever comes his way he will endure and soldier through. This is the will of a warrior.

[ Beep! Host has selected the Option 2 : Passive System. Accept! ]

' Yes '

[ Passive setting set. In this setting, system will not interact with host, Any reward for Hidden Missions will be alerted and directly placed in Inventory. Inventory will merged with Hosts soul for easy access. Host can make the use of Import function now. ]

Nei li felt a strange force crawl into his body. with a cold shudder, he felt a strong dominant power intertwin into his psyche, and he lost all control of his extremities.

Closing his eyes he accepted this strange phenomena. After few moments he felt as though he can sense a presence of something he never felt before, an anomaly in his consciousness.

Nei li opened his clear baby blue eyes, calm as a serene lake. He looked around to confirm that no one was present. He picked up the book he brought with himself and thought to himself, to place it into his inventory. The book vanished.

'This doesn't feel like I have learnt something or gained a power but more like I have always had this ability from the start ' Nei Li contemplates over his new ability. He took the book out again and put it on the table.

'The space that I have right now, I can at most store half a dozen of books' Nei li felt the space provided by the Inventory and estimated.

Nei li didn't really felt let down though, this space will increase with his strength. He is not even a Bronze rank yet, so it's unreasonable to ask for a space big enough to store the whole library worth of books.

He can even store living things that an amazing ability on its own. He was quite tempted for this feature. Although storing living beings still comes with its rule and strict regulations but that's reasonable enough.

' Now, for the Import. Its a single use feature, I should choose carefully! ' Nei li knew that it's an important decision, He crossed his hands before his chest and fall into deep thinking.

Suddenly like a jolt of electricity, he felt an idea sparked in his mind. He snapped open his eyes, unconsciously putting his right fist under his chin, with a thinking posture.

' That would be a pretty useful thing if I can have it, especially now' Nei li swept past his gaze around the library. Getting more sure of his decision.

As Nei li was now determined to make the decision, his thought unknowingly slipped into his last life.

When he was working in other regions of the world, undercover to recruit great talent all around the world. On his last assignment, he was sent to recruit a 20 Year old kid.

All powerful country always keep an eye for talented people emerging from all around the world, they always tries to enchant them and lure them to work for their cause. Although this is a bit immoral, they truly believe that they can provide the best resources for talented individual to maximize their potential.

One such person who carried out such an operation was him. He did this work for about 5 years, after which his superior decided to promote him. Just after his tenure was starting to end, an amazing talented was reported to appear around his vicinity.

Since he was the closest agent around the area, he was tasked this mission for the last time as a recruiter.

The one he was needed to appeal to, was a boy named 'Philip' From Serbia. He was an student in computer programming who excelled in Artificial Intelligence. He came up with a nanotechnology chip which can be infused with a person brain and can be used to Analyze and store copious amount of data.

He called this ' A. I. Chip', Apparently he got the idea from a novel he loved. He took the fictional element from it and applied it in real world. Although his research was in only Primitive stage it was still remarkable and ingenious.

In the end, He succeeded in coaxing him. The biggest problem with this research was the actual practicality since it involves installing the chip in the users Brian. Philip though was able crack this problem.

After sending him over to the research center in his country, He never say Philips again since he was a member of top secret research team.

*Sigh*

Nei li looked outside the window, gazing at the setting sun, the reddish tint in the air. He was lost in his own thoughts. A calm and serene expression on his face.

Nei li shaked his head, retracting his focus. He asked the system ' System, Can I import the A. I. Chip from the Earth. Although it was in primary stage of research it still existed there, According to system notification it's plausible right? '.

[ Beep! Yes, It's possible]

As if understanding that Nei Li has more to say, System didn't continue. Nei Li groaned ' I have an extra request though. I want you to merge the A.I.Chip with my soul and also allow it to have the ability to grow with me '

As Nei Li requested his conditions, the system didn't reply instantly, Instead an eerie silence fall for some time. As Nei li was thinking that his request will be denied suddenly the chiming of System sounded.

[ Beep! It's possible, but if Host ask for this request to be fulfilled his Novice pack will be cancelled ]

Nei li tilted his head in confusion, ' What novice pack?'.

[ For host to prosper and gain a head start in the new world. System has allotted a Novice pack, but if Host insist for this request his novice pack will be cancelled]

' What's in the Novice pack ? '

[ Host will have to see for himself]

' Then give it to me, so that I can see! ' Nei li said frustratingly.

[ Then host previous request will be denied ]

Nei li made the ' I knew it ' Face and said while waving his hand, as if shooing away the system 'Just fulfill my request '

[ As you wish ]

[ Beep ]
