And So, The Third Bird Is Stoned

"What are you talking about?" He grunts, coughing out a bit of blood immediately after.

I don't have time for this. I accidentally blew him through the wall adjacent to the area the students and teachers are located. A few students and professors around stare at us in shock. I can sense the number of monsters that were prowling around have decreased significantly, so in a few minutes Lunela and the others will come rushing here because of the explosion. I have to get this over with quickly since I can't have them knowing I'm after information on Aeolia as well. For now, I'll deal with Larien later.

I summon the system window and look over all the information that appears, and gasp after finding what it is I think I'm after. This is unsettling. Especially the thought that this loser would've gotten away with this if I wasn't here.

Magic Craft: Tier 3 Dark mage, Tier 3 Summoning mage

Hmm... As I thought, the ring was the sole reason he was able to use those high level spells. The only thing noteworthy about guy is his tier. But then, if he's adept as a summoning magic as well enough to reach the third tier, then why hasn't he...

"Lancra Telmut!"

My thoughts are cut off by the spell the dark mage casts. After a bright flash of light, twelve mid-level familiars appear in front of the dark mage, guarding him.

Somehow this feels like I always jinx myself. Five mid-level Necro-spirits, each about level 21, and seven Void Walkers at level 26. It just had to be now that Lunela and the rest of the students and teachers scattered around arrive, staring at the dark mage, the monsters, and then me in shock.

Lunela doesn't hesitate to charge forward, forming a mana sword in her hand and attacking one of the necro-spirits. A few teachers join the fray, and aim their attack spells at the summoned familiars.

He's not powerful enough to summon this many mid-leveled familiars at the same time, but he's got a lot of artifacts on him. I noticed when I was looking over his information. A ton of artifacts ranging from rare to unique popped up. I'm guessing he's able to keep and summon these many familiars because of the unique level item around his neck.

The Aztath Summoner's Necklace

Item Grade: Unique

Description: Item of the Aztath empire, crafted by Aztath summoners. This necklace allows the caster to summon a multitude of familiars they have already summoned before.

I don't think a lone dark mage could get his hands on several items higher than regular grade. He must belong to an organization. But an organization capable of getting their hands on two unique grade items, and are okay with giving both to a single follower is surprising as well. Not only the unique level items, he's also sporting three other regular high grade items that reduce physical damage and protect him from low level spells. This organization must be a pretty big one.

"Alice!" The voice belonging to Larien calls out, as he rushes towards me, gesturing to a point on the side.

I notice that the dark mage is attempting to escape and cast <Ice bullet>, hitting him in the right leg and he collapses where he is.

I trudge over to the fallen man and press on the wound on his leg with my foot.

"AHH!" He screams in pain.

Now, how am I going to take what I need with all these eyes looking? Illusion magic? No. There are too many high leveled professors. They'd notice something is up before I even finished casting. I can't just let them take it back though. The connection the school had to Aeolia. It wasn't information like I was led to believe, but was an item I don't even know how they got their hands on.

That ring I created with an unreasonable amount of buffs where only meant to be used by my allies. They were proof that whoever the wearer was, was my guest, and as such, the first two outer barriers didn't affect them, and my army didn't attack them. So how does this magic school have one? Well, supposedly Erandelle has been around here for 10 years. More like it would be a surprise if they didn't have anything on Aeolia, but still, not the ring though. Mostly because, unless I grant the wearer permission to use it, all the buffs turn to debuffs and the reductions act accordingly as if like a curse. They may be able to pass through the first outer barrier, but they'd be sliced to pieces by my monsters before they reached the second.

Still, it's not something I can let go of. Letting them have it is a pain, even if they wouldn't be able to use it. Let's think. How do I take what I want without suspicion? Hmm... Ah! I haven't used it in a while so I forgot.

'System, open <Pocket Dimension>!'

A black portal opens below the groaning dark mage, and begins pulling him inside.

"Ah. What's going on?!" Lunela exclaims, rushing towards him.

"He's escaping!"

The portal sucks him in completely, and closes just as Lunela gets there.

"Tch! He escaped!" She scoffed, clicking her tongue in frustration.

"What was that?" Darius asks, walking over towards me, and Larien.

"A portal," Larien sighs, rubbing his temples in frustration as well.

"A portal?" Darius repeats in question. "Ah, so he had allies?"

"Most likely," I sigh, just trying to close up this discussion so I can move onto other matters.

Even though he's gone, with the Aztath summoner's ring, his familiars will still remain.

'Ahh!" A few students scream as a necro-spirit attacks a group in uniforms.

The professors managed to kill a couple, leaving only three void walkers and two necro-spirits remain. This was a bit fruitful. I got to see the strength of the school's professors and top ranking students. Now to kill the last bird with my stone.

I cast <Eternal blizzard> causing a storm of ice to surround the five remaining familiars. Several ice shards spring up from the ground within the blizzard and stab through three of them. Then for the final two.

"Ledris!" I exclaim, casting a spell that makes the remaining two familiars explode by filling their cores with an abundance of my mana, causing them to overload and blow up.

"Whoa!"

"Did he just get rid of five mid-level familiars at once?!"

"Who is that?"

"Is he new?"

"Maybe he's a knight?"

"No, maybe a tower mage."

While the students gape at me with awe, the professors and staff look at me with a hint of suspicion.

Larien allows a smile to spread across his face as he says, "Your speed and knowledge in spellcasting always impresses me."

I return his smile and say, "Right back at you."
