1 Chapter I: Dragon destiny

Since the world created the dragons that we inhabit, we have not known a force as great or dominant as destiny, many of us are aware of its unbreakable influence on us and our lives. All our decisions, victories, defeats, losses, and achievements are due to thanks to the inevitable force of destiny; even if we believe that we can change something or if we think that we have managed to escape from the hands of destiny, in reality, we are manipulated like toys made of wood and clay by that entity that dictates our fortune, misfortune, dreams, and hopes. We must never forget that whatever fate dictates is what our life will receive even if we do not agree with it. However dragons have learned to live and accept the fortunes in our lives, from showing ourselves grateful and appreciate for those great riches that we receive until we understand and respect the pain and sadness that we obtained a change, we cannot consider r to destiny as something good or bad, those concepts have no relation to a force like this; some wish they had a better destiny while others are comfortable with that kind of fortune. But a 'Greater Dragon' or a 'Dragon of the Order' should never question the type of destiny that they and their companions in battles or companions of the dragon royalty.

If I tell you this my beloved Alexandra it is because I want you to understand that your fortune, life, and travel are not coincidences, everything happened for a reason, a reason that you still cannot understand because of your naive and childish youth, however, I hope that when you get to be a great warrior, you have understood all the sacrifice that you will have to face and you have managed to fulfill your duty as it was entrusted to you since you were born.

This was the last thing that a great dragon with white fins and scales with blue touches commented to a human girl with red hair and fair skin barely five years old, the little human who hugged the tail of that dragon tightly did not seem to fully understand what that The dragon told him under the night stars and with fire as the only company of both.

"But mommy, how do you know that my destiny is to be a warrior?" She asks the dragon with an innocent and curious voice.

"Because I am an oceanic dragon, there is no dragon race that knows or understands the vagaries of fate better than we do" With a wag of the tail brings the girl closer to her "Since I found you on that full moon night on the shores It was from that beach that I understood that your destiny was not to die drowned in the cruel sea, your destiny was to be strong, to become someone who manages to overcome death and live a long life. To do this, you must become a strong and fierce warrior, someone who manages to intimidate those who try to harm you and overcome disasters by flying as high as you will allow."

"But neither you nor I can fly" Replies the girl looking at the dragon with doubts.

"I know daughter, I am aware that unlike my winged brothers I could not fly no matter how much I wanted to, however, our souls can do them regardless of our differences between species." She answers smiling at the little girl who gives him back the smile to the dragon "I don't know what kind of destiny awaits you, but I want to believe that it is a great and special one, I just want to see you grow up and be someone stronger than me."

"I promise to be stronger than mommy and to be a Greater Dragon like you, and when I am I will show everyone that I am like they"

She smiles even more now hugging what she considered a mother to her with strength, however, the dragon when she wanted to do the same instead, just limited himself by hugging her with the tail.

"If you want to become a Greater Dragon then when you turn eight years old, which is the age where the hatchlings already begin to develop their magical gifts and fighting and tracking skills; I myself will be the one in charge of your special training."

It was then since that night under the stars ten years later a young fifteen-year-old girl is dodging fireballs, boiling water jets and ferocious air currents trying to avoid most of those attacks, she was wearing rather heavy armor but that guaranteed their protection and security against such elemental attacks. The problem with said armor was that it was very heavy for the poor teenager who could barely endure a few minutes and then she was severely hit by the attacks leaving her lying on the ground with some screams of pain. An old dragon looked with contempt and rage at that human who rose slowly due to the pain to which her body was subjected, for any dragon regardless of its species would have managed to last longer avoiding the attacks of other dragons and would not make the old man feel like you are wasting your precious time on this waste of soft meat with no tail, wings or even fins.

"It is the fifth time in the day that you have been knocked down so easily!" The elder dragon of the great race of dark brown flying dragons shouted annoyed, breaking a staff that he had in hand "When I tell you that you must last dodging everything whatever they throw at you for an hour, I hope you stay in constant motion for an hour, if this had been a real fight you would have already died from a shower of elementals dragons power, I will never understand how a great dragon-like Magarai can have so many expectations and trusts in a pathetic creature like you" Approaches while screaming and complaining to the poor girl who only had her head down hiding her face with that helmet that protected her face from any damage it might receive.

The girl could only silently receive insulting and derogatory comments towards her person, it was not her fault, she really tried very hard to be able to handle such a heavy and difficult to coordinate armor for her against a lot of attacks, she was not a dragon and the lightest armor still found it difficult to move freely. The other young dragons mocked or made negative comments towards her, she would never last a day outside the safety of the town of Shairum, that is if they gave her permission to go beyond the walls.

"Do you have something to say in your defense this time or will you continue to be silent as always?" He looks annoyed at the girl who is only slow to get away from that place. This only left his master more annoying and elicited more taunts than could ever be considered comrades in arms.

In a cabin near the seashore a young girl approaches with bruised, beaten armor and paw marks, cuts, and certain burn marks; It was not a good day for her who, upon reaching the entrance of her home, takes off her helmet showing a face stained with dust mixed with ashes, covered in sweat and certain burn marks near the eye area.

"Damn Sheyser instructor, damn my classmates who made fun of me and damn the one who believed that this armor was a good option, it is the same as the others, I cannot move with it either" She enters her home throwing the helmet aside and taking the floor with your back leaning to the wall. Her hard day of training had been as frustrating and painful like the others, from the age of ten that he began receiving other types of training with different teachers.

"You ate the dust on the ground again while more fireballs, water, or wind hit you and received sweet insults from Instructor Sheyser, right?" Says the voice of a dragon that was witnessing the frustration and sadness of the girl.

"Hi Kaipo and you don't need an answer to that question, I think my appearance makes everything more than clear" She answers raising her face just to be able to look at her friend, a red terrestrial dragon with some yellowtail scales. This dragon looks with empathy as his friend wanted to endure the tears that failure had caused her. "Not even the armor of the healers serves me, the lightest armor of all known to the entire dragon kingdom, and even so I find it difficult to move freely."

"Oh and how long did you last this time?" The dragon asks sitting next to his human friend.

"Thirty-six minutes at the most."

"Incredible, you beat your record for an extra ten minutes," He said, looking happy for his friend's achievement, although she didn't see it as something to celebrate.

"If you want to cheer me up, let me tell you that you don't do it well Kaipo" She covers her face between his legs "I don't think I can fulfill my destiny of being a great warrior if I keep failing the easiest test of the circuit."

Alexandra could no longer hold the tears, this was her ninth attempt to pass the warrior level one test, the level where the future generation of dragon warriors began as adventurers with smooth and easy missions to gain some experience from beyond the Shairum wall. By custom, each dragon was given ten attempts from the age of thirteen to achieve the title of a level one warrior, and each attempt could only have five opportunities to pass training and brutal physical tests. If she failed for the tenth time, she would lose everything because it meant she was unfit to be a warrior, and the fate she believed should be her own, her honor, and the will to live would all go away if she turned out to be a failure for her mother. Magarai, who put a lot of time and effort into preparing her for the

If it weren't for the heavy armor, Alexandra could move more freely, she had understood very well the art of combat, field strategies, dragon tracking, and resources, she had even learned how to make certain potions to take advantage of the situation. All this was achieved without wearing armor at twelve thanks to her mother, she believed that the best way to hone someone's instincts for combat and survival was for them to be very close to danger. And so it was with some pain and stumbling the young human had understood how to fight, think and anticipate situations like the other dragons, although in the process she had acquired some scars and burned skin marks on almost all of her body. But on the battlefield in the real world, and armor is vital to guarantee the safety and life of every good dragon that was a warrior in combat.

"It must not be so bad if you can't become a warrior" Trying to console his human friend "if you ask me some dragons are happy being cooks, carpenters or even being servants. Maybe you are not destined to be a warrior, rather maybe being a simple craftswoman or caregiver is the best for you" Trying to be understanding and make things sound much better than it really was.

"I can't accept those fates, Mom always said that someone who escaped death being a simple baby was destined for great things, and among those things is to be a warrior," She says annoyed by her friend's attempts to comfort her.

"You know that dragons even if they don't like it, fate already has the plans chosen for one."

"I know that fate knows that I am suitable to be a warrior, perhaps not suitable to be Dragon Mayor, but a strong warrior." Reproaches the girl.

The dragon lets out a small sigh to get up and wait for his friend to move to the side to be able to leave the house, she only moved to the side allowing Kaipo to pass, who only patted her on the shoulder to give her encouragement and a bit of comfort, he knew this was important to her, but the reality could be different and if the inevitable happened he just wanted his friend to be prepared for it, he didn't want to see her only human friend whom she looked at as her the same to fall into the dark abyss to pursue something that perhaps was not part of his destiny.

"I know that the destiny of a dragon is already dictated and there is nothing I can do, but I am sure that my destiny is to be a warrior, I must be it no matter how."

It was the last thing she said trying to handle her armor to get used to it for her last attempt at being a warrior, she did not want to fail, she did not want to believe that all this time fate prevented her from achieving her goal, she wanted to succeed in passing her tests and show everyone what kind of warrior she could be if she had the chance. In a forge, Magarai was with some terrestrial dragons preparing a certain object with special magical properties, he put all his faith in it and hoped that this object was the key to help his daughter fulfill her destiny as a dragon.
