08 - Trevor...

'Trevor… He didn't die yet.'

Lucian gritted his teeth just to see him able to walk around.

It seemed that he had made some friends after he had pushed both Lucian and Ava, as he was currently around with one girl and two guys.

Ava tightened her hold around Lucian's arm when she saw Trevor. It seemed anger had taken over her for a quick second.

"Are you okay?" Lucian softly said, wondering why she had tightened her hold.

"Y-Yes, don't worry!" Her naive expression took over when Lucian looked at her.

As for Alex, he wasn't paying attention to anything. Well, he paid attention to only one thing: the Death Counter. He really hadn't lied earlier. He wanted to go to the Otherworld as fast as possible.

Lucian glanced at the status of the group Trevor had gotten close to because he wanted to know whether they were strong or not, and he was surprised when he saw them. The two guys had quite average stats, from what Lucian could see. However, they each had a skill. On the other hand, the girl seemed to be in a different situation. Her stats potential were below average and quite bad, to be honest. However, she had a Class and a Special Skill.

"Haha! Why am I not surprised?"

It seemed Alex didn't even hear him as he kept looking in front of him. As for Ava, she got confused about Lucian's reaction. However, she had a vague idea of what had just happened. It was probably related to Trevor and his appearance.

"Come on, boys! Let's go further toward the middle of the Safe Zone," the Enchantress said to Trevor and the two others.

"With pleasure!" The three of them shouted in unison like good little dogs.

'Seems like they are all under her control, interesting…'

Lucian had to admit that he couldn't help but recognize himself a little in the Enchantress. They were both in somewhat of the same situation. However, their situation was a little different since she was just using her looks to charm people, and Lucian actually had to use his brain.

Seeing her approach them, Lucian stood up. Ava followed him closely behind, her expression changing again, and Alex… didn't even notice them standing up.

'You're going to fucking regret betraying me.'

"Hey, Trevor, what's up?"

Lucian had decided to introduce himself to Trevor as if they were an old friend. However, that couldn't be further away from the truth.

"Y-You're…alive... How?"

There was only a smile on Lucian's face when he saw the shock that Trevor was under. It was satisfying.

"Oh, wow, I see you have made some new friends. Care to introduce us?"

Trevor was stumped and had difficulty speaking. "Uh… Introduce? Right… sorry, this right here is Olivia, and those two are Bob and Bobby."

Olivia seemed to perceive an opportunity as she put on one of the most beautiful smiles she could mutter.

"Hello! My name is Olivia. It's nice to meet you!"

As she said those words, she extended her hand out while putting her body forward, showing the entirety of her cleavage. It seemed her usual method for charming men. However, Lucian didn't even glance at it as he kept looking at her in the eyes.

While Olivia greeted Lucian, she discreetly looked at Ava, who was right beside him and was weirded out instantly.

'Why the hell is she looking at me like that? She looks like she wants to kill me.'

Lucian, having no idea of what happened, shook Olivia's hand. "Mine is Lucian. It's nice to meet you. So, how did you guys manage to survive?"

'Already trying to charm me, I see…'

Even if someone wanted to be respectful, they would at one point take a small glance at her cleavage that was just a natural reaction for any normal man. But Lucian wouldn't be as easy to charm as the three others. He knew about her skill, after all.

"Oh, you know, we killed a few monsters here and there. Well, I wouldn't have survived without the help of those two beautiful gentlemen!" 

She pointed at Bob and Bobby while saying this, discarding Trevor since he had probably joined them later on. The two of them smiled like idiots when they received some attention from Olivia. They really had gotten under her charm. They were in an even worse situation than Trevor.

"What about you? Looks like you got into a few problems," Olivia said as she tried to slowly point toward the huge scratch that the Giant Zombie had left on Lucian's back earlier.

"Yeah, we did. But luckily for us, we met this guy right here. He saved us from all our troubles!"

Lucian obviously pointed toward Alex, who looked like a complete idiot, mindlessly staring at the air.

"This guy?"

Olivia had trouble believing that this guy, who seemed like a total loser with a little sword around his waist, could be strong. From her point of view, there was absolutely no way that this guy was actually talented at fighting. Her allies were much better.

'He doesn't even look smart, and look at him… All feeble looking.'

"Yeah, don't worry. He might not look like it, but he's very strong."

Lucian's voice contained a tinge of sarcasm on purpose, as he didn't want to think that what he was saying at the moment was actually true. He wanted people to think the exact opposite, that Alex was a complete idiot; that way, he would be able to keep him for himself.

"Hmm… well, can we join you guys?" Olivia asked as she squished her breasts again, trying to help Lucian make a decision.

However, even without that move, Lucian had made his decision. It was a simple "yes". While he wanted to take revenge on Trevor, he hadn't forgotten everything else. The girl in front of her had potential, and their mindset seemed similar, so why not recruit her to his team?

One problem was that she didn't seem to be the type to be controlled. She seemed like Lucian, a manipulator who would do everything to attain her goals.

'Well, if something happens, I can just make a small mistake and kill her.'
