He Knows

(Zane's Perspective. Sometime earlier)

Every since Zane had awakened the Null eyes he had become the center of attention in the clan because he not only awakened it early but he was also a Rank 0.

Everyone thought that he was not only the strongest in his age group in the clan but also in the world, but not only had he been beaten by a dark-skinned kid that he was older than twice but his lightning magic barely had done any damage to the boy.

His mother had also thought that he was distracting him but the truth was he was helping him train, if Jason hadn't trained with him his training last week would've been less fruitful.

But his mother had probably killed him by now since she was pissed off when she entered the room.

"The last respects I can give him is attending his funeral." Zane sighed as he begun swinging his sword once again.

Little did he know that they were going to meet again very soon.

(One Month Later... January)

Jason woke up feeling heavy, he had eaten too much yesterday night. But that was his own way of celebrating the new year.

He had used up most of the remaining supplies that were in the store room to cook himself a feast.

"Have I gained weight?" Jason asked himself, he didn't have any means of checking himself in the mirror and his photographic memory wasn't helpful because he didn't look at himself.

Today was the day that he was going to see Zane again, he assumed that after he had been given his punishment the elders would think he was training his body.

But what they didn't know that he wasn't even bothered in the slightest by this turn of events and rather found it as a chance of meet more extras.

He was barely an extra so he should have the chance to interact with fellow extras.

And today was the day he was going to carry Unwavering will from Zane so he could casually borrow from the system once more.

He went over his daily routines and ended with his image training.

Once again the old man came and began teaching him, in teaching there was no such thing as a holiday.

"Do you understand?" The old man asked as he finished teaching, he always ended the routine this way.

"Yes."

"Okay." He said carrying his bag before leaving through the door.

Jason watched him leave, despite the fact that he was given the punishment by the clan they never bothered to give him any guards, but Zane always had guards no matter the day.

The clan didn't care about him in the slightest, to them it would be a blessing if he just one day up and died.

The fact that his existence was unknown to most of the world's population was proof of that.

The Invisibility potion appeared in his hand, it always puzzled him how the system managed to bring these things to existence.

Perhaps the system was created by some sort of God, and he was blessed by it.

'Not now.' He told himself, if he allowed himself to daydream he would have to schedule his visit to tomorrow.

He looked at the potion once more before gulping it down instantly, it blended in his body instantly.

And in no less than a second he began sprinting towards Zane's training grounds, going past the several guards once again.

As he arrived in the training grounds, this time he didn't see Zane training with a sword this time he was training his lightning magic.

[Skills: Null Eyes, Lightning Magic, Unwavering Will, Blade Strike]

This time it seemed that Zane had mastered the sword or had learned a skill he was desperately trying to learn.

'I must have it.' Jason thought while watching Zane shape lightning in his hand.

In this world as depicted in the novel, there were no such things as skills under a specific type of magic once you learned the type of magic you could shape it in anyway you could imagine.

As soon as the potion wore off Jason moved quietly towards Zane, it seemed like he knew Jason was here due to his non-reaction.

"What are you up to, doc?" Jason asked putting his hand on Zane's shoulder.

The boy instinctively turned his head towards the source of the voice, but once he looked at the person at his back he jumped backwards comically, it looked like he was about to jump into the hands of the training dummy he had riddled with holes due to his magic.

But he fell onto his butt.

"A-are you... a ghost?" Zane asked fearfully.

'He makes me want to punch him every-time I visit.' Jason thought.

"Are you stupid?" Jason almost shouted.

Zane got up dusting himself like nothing had just happened.

"I forgot, ghosts aren't dark-skinned." Zane said as dusted himself. "I thought mother had killed you."

"Is she really that crazy?"

Normally, when you insulted someone's mother in their face the two of you would get to blows but the kid nodded.

This proved that his mother wasn't normal to even elicit this kind of response from her son.

"It is unbelievable that you managed to stay alive. Didn't they punish you?"

"Why would they? I'm too clean. No evidence on me!" Jason lied.

He didn't want to tell Zane that the truth, it was better to keep people in the dark anyway.

"So I'm guessing you came here to fight." Zane grinned at his words.

He had been practicing with the sword and had finally mastered the move he had struggled to learn for so long. He was going to use that element of surprise to his advantage.

"Why not?" Jason said as he picked the katana Zane threw at him.

"You're a cheater." Zane muttered. "How could you copy my technique, I spent at least 15 days trying to master it and you couldn't even hold a blade properly until one second you were almost as good as me."

During their fight Jason had copied blade strike and with it came the integration of Zane's talent for the blade, he was able to use it on par with the person he copied it from without prior knowledge of it.

That was the true use of the talent system, one that he promised himself to abuse to the limit.

"I guess it's time for me to tell you a story so you won't cry anymore." Jason said taking a seat.

"Oh, so its now a habit."

"Just sit your ass down and listen." Jason groaned.

"What's an ass?" Zane asked.

'Oh God help me, it seems like I'm teaching an innocent child "the ways".'

Zane noticed his expression and laughed out loud.

"I got you there!" He laughed.

Jason stared wide-eyes at Zane, this boy had seen the scriptures!!

'Oh forgive me lord, it seems like he already knows.'

"Wait, when does an eleven year old know what that means?!" Jason exclaimed.

"What are you yapping about, I'm not your ordinary eleven year old?" Zane said with pride.

"Whatever, I'm tell you Pt 2 of the story I told you last month, hopefully your mother won't come."

"Hopefully."

"I'll come over next month." Jason said with a smile as he finished the story, pumping Zane in the chest.

"What does that mean?"

"What?"

"The thing you just did." Zane asked curiously.

'Is this really outdated!!' Jason thought, surprise written on his face.

"Anyways, later!"

Jason ran out of the training grounds with a smile on his face, these days were the best days of his life.
