Chapter 21: Manipulation is Everywhere.

"It's nice to finally meet you, your highness Keiran and your highness Luna. 

I wish you a very happy birthday. I am Daiki Kurosaki,  you can call me Grandpa Daiki. I have brought you a gift for this special occasion."

The old man introduced himself in a calm and elderly tone as he took out a box that was neatly wrapped in gift paper with a ribbon on top of it. "

Do forgive this old man as I don't know what children usually like, so I brought you the best tea leaves from our family house."

The twins maintained their expressionless demeanor throughout the old man's rambling. Little did he know that they were engaged in their own silent conversation while he spoke.

'Tell me, brother, why are we here again?' Luna inquired in a bored manner, her tone suggesting a desire for some indulgence.

Keiran responded with a touch of amusement, 'Sigh, it's our birthday.'

Luna persisted, 'Not that. Why do we have to go through this? Why can't we just ignore them and be alone somewhere?'

Keiran paused, carefully choosing his words, and explained, "Because we need to understand them. 

We have to survive among them, and to do that, we must comprehend their way of thinking. 

Take this old man, for example; he's attempting to act like a grandfatherly figure to us, and all these antics are nothing more than a facade.'

Luna observed the old man closely and noticed that his aura was fluctuating, far from the warmth his smile suggested. 

It was clear to her that he was putting on a façade. 

"He wants to get close to us and use us. We already know this because of our eyes, but Aiden doesn't. 

So, we have to prepare him too," Luna commented, causing a faint twitch in her lips, although inwardly, she was somewhat displeased.

She continued their silent conversation, "We also need to gather information about what we're dealing with here. 

Remember what happened on the day after we were born when we had to attend a similar function?" 

The mention of that day brought a hollow look to both of their eyes.

The twins shared a protective sentiment, both thinking simultaneously, 'Whoever dared to touch or trouble my Luna/Keiran, I will not spare them.'

Unaware of the twins' inner dialogue, the old man continued speaking in his grandfatherly tone. 

"Let me tell you a secret, they are better than those Wang's tea leaves. Children may not like drinking tea, but I heard you both are not like the other children," he said, gazing deeply into Keiran's eyes. The white-eyed boy accepted the box and handed it to a nearby maid.

Keiran responded with politeness, "Thank you for your gift. I like it, and I think Luna would love to try it too, Mr. Kurosaki." His words caused a slight twitch in the man's mouth, but he soon composed himself.

"No need to be so formal," Mr. Kurosaki replied. "Like I said, you can call me Grandpa Daiki or Old Man Kurosaki."

Keiran remained composed, his lips curling up slightly at the corners. "How can I do that? We respect your position as the clan head of the Kurosaki family and your role as an earl of the kingdom."

"They are just mere titles; they do not mean anything, so it's fine," Mr. Kurosaki insisted, frustrating Keiran. Keiran, however, maintained his expressionless face and did not respond.

Before the situation could escalate further, Seraphina arrived to rescue them. "Keiran, Luna, there you are. Come with me. I have to introduce you to some guests. I hope you don't mind me taking them away, Mr. Kurosaki?" she interjected.

Hearing Luna's voice, Keiran nodded in agreement, thinking, 'Seraphina is an angel.'

As Keiran and Luna walked away with Seraphina, Keiran sighed inwardly, thinking, 'I just want this day to be over soon.' Luna couldn't help but chuckle softly in her mind. 

Meanwhile, Daiki Kurosaki watched the trio walk away, his expression turning cold. 

However, his attention shifted to his granddaughter, Karin, who was engaged in conversation with the other prince and the heir of the Smith family. 

A small smile appeared on his face as he thought, 'Not all hope is lost yet. I need to prepare for ten more years, and then everything will be ready.' 

Daiki Kurosaki observed Karin from a distance, knowing that his granddaughter possessed unique qualities and abilities that would become essential in his future plans. 

Thinking of this, he walked away towards where the rest of the Kurosaki family was standing.

Unknown to the old man, someone was keeping a watchful eye on them during their talk.

Seraphina walked forward as the twins followed, "Thanks, Seraphina. That old man was really persistent." Hearing Luna's words, Seraphina chuckled as she continued to walk forward.

"Don't be happy so soon. Although the guy is scheming and persistent, you are going to face someone similar, if not worse, today." Hearing this, their expressions turned solemn, and soon they reached their destination where Erla was talking to a tall man who looked similar to her in terms of age.

He turned his attention back to the twins. "You guys should visit the Kim estate sometime; I'll show you around. You'll love the diversity of culture there."

Kieran nodded in acceptance of the offer, despite not particularly liking the people. 

He thought it was now time for them to explore the kingdom and gain experience. "I will certainly visit with my family when we are touring the kingdom."
