Prologue

Brought to the verge of insanity that came with the first culling Zig has yet to recover fully. He was driven mad by the revelation that there was more than one culling but he would survive until the end.

(Five years prior)…

Zig was living a college life normally with only a few major events impacting his life until the world split open. It started as small cracks looking like tiny window into the abyss. Only the red hue that placated the area sent a message that something was coming. No one was sure exactly what this was supposed to mean while governments around the world were either studying the crack or trying to cover up the existence of such a freak of nature.

Zig was informed that some of his friends were going home to hide in a bunker with their family. Whoever had stayed on campus was that schools would be closed until further notice.

Over the next couple of days the cracks grew lager until the red glow had permeated every inch of the earth notifying everyone the first culling had arrived.
