5 Something is amiss

'At the office of the London Special Cases Division.'

"Aiden!" Did you sign the release form for the updated version of our current case?"

"Aiden!" shouted Lela.

"Sorry… What?" responded Aiden, turning away from the large magic screen that floated in the air at the front of the room.

Never mind, sighed Lela. I am sure that you have forgotten to do, exactly what I had hope you would of done yesterday. Looking at the large screen, Lela decided to ask Aiden, are you ever going to stop fawning over Camille who was speaking at a function on the screen?

How can I not, Aiden responded with a statement? She is perhaps every man's dream, in here and out there. Now that I think about it, most of the women in this office is beautiful.

"So you think that I am beautiful, Lela asked shyly?"

Don't get swell headed, Aiden scolded. I did say most of them in here, he snickered besides shouldn't you be working right now.

Aiden turned to face his partner and looked at his cluttered desk, deciding to start arranging his things on his desk. His desk was right next to Lela's. Lela's attention was currently occupied, as she looked down at a magical book.

Looking up at Lela who was preoccupied in the book, he got curious and decided to see what she was doing. Standing up he walked at her side and asked, what are you really doing?

.

Lela suddenly grabbed his arm and the two were pulled into the magical book.

.

Within the book, they stood on a solid platform that floated in the air of nothingness. Suddenly concrete began building up alongside them, along with bricks and other things, making an exact replica of the last apartment that they were in at New York.

OK, Lela explained as she pointed at the recreated ashes. This is what we believe was the body of the suspect. The floor dust had a slight pathway within it, which was lined up directly to the location of the ashes which indicated a spell was cast from this point, to the ashes.

It could have been a wind spell that blew back the individual just before they got hit by another spell which completely burned their body to ashes and thus, here they remained.

I am with you so far, confirmed Aiden.

Now this apartment she stated, was owned by a a Fredrick Coleman. Lela turned to a small, faceless magical creature that began projecting a luminescent body as well as details of the deceased individual.

Looking at the details, Aiden saw that he graduated from "The School Of Magical Learning," realizing that the deceased was a 'spell user.'

"So he was a spell caster, Aiden said out loud!"

Yes, Lela answered in agreement and so were the other four victims who also graduated from the same class.

So this is the connection that we are looking for, Aiden said with a relief. We are now getting somewhere.

Lela shook her head in agreement. Adding to our information, police records does not speak about any 'strange books' being found.

When you say strange, do you mean magical books, Aiden asked?

Yes… None of their grimoires have been found, which means it was taken by the assailant.

So you are saying, Aiden asked that the assailant wanted the grimoires of the victims.

Right, Lela answered, from all of the crime scenes. All books were not present so our assailant might either be looking for a spell in their grimoires or just needed their books.

But why, William asked out loud? He raised his hand to his mouth indicating he was giving it some thought.

Suddenly a loud male voice echoed down in the magical room.

"Lela! Aiden!" There has been an explosion at a magical library in London.

Lela turned to the magical creature which caused a bright light and the two humans were cast out of the magical room and back into the real world.

Standing before them was a white elf who was a liaison for his people. He was the one who had spoken to Lela & Aiden. He hailed from a snowy world which was evident by his white skin and blue eyes. Something you may want to look into, he continued as he pointed to the magical screen that displayed the incident. Perhaps it might pertain to your current case.

Thanks for the update, Aiden said giving the elf a pat on his back. Lela stood mesmerized at the elf. She had never interacted with his race since they started coming to Earth Realm. Get yourself together, Aiden told Lela, snapping her out of her trance.

Sometimes I wonder about you, Aiden joked as he picked up his jacket. He also handed Lela her jacket.

Now let go to the scene of the incident…
