72 Chapter 72: Stripped and Fallen

Evi run and escaped with her barefeet. The demon is coming after her. She can't even bring herself to hurt her sweetheart's physical body. Her body got pruned when she hid behind the famous Hedge Waterfall. In this place no one can harm her. She used her palm to drink from the cascading water. She felt refreshed. She started to wail as she wash herself from the blood stain all over her body.

Being raised from a priestly family she felt ashamed and guilty. She hurted and dissapointed her parents. Evi allowed her soft shell to be washed away by the sacred water. She gathered some fruits as an offering. She prayed and recommitted herself. The backslide was harsh and rough but she knew and believe that her God will never leave her even if she failed.

She clasp her chest because her words are not coming out.

All she was able to recite like a mantra as she wept was "Thank you Lord."

Until her voice got husky and weak. Until her tears willingly stopped her fluids. Until her heart gained back it's peace. She had poured out everything that had shackled her for many years. It was the chain that brought her to this broken road.

Cyrus knew that something was wrong from the start. Evi may have been territorial but she would never steal someone's breath. When Urchin told him about Evi's side of story that he witnessed, Cyrus felt wavered. His past affection is arising. Before he could get preoccupied he set up the table and had Gardenia and Zayin sat with him.

"According to Urchin, Evi was choosen as a vessel by a unknown supernatural. The abused rumours were not done by her husband but by the devil. What concern me is that Evi's location. If only we can point out her exact location then it will lead us to find Lehi." Cyrus delivered as he tried to recall Urchin's words.

"Can't Urchin invite Evi on a trance?" Gardenia suggested.

"If she survived then she might be near around Ascents." Zayin chipped in.

Their analysis got interrupted by Ophir.

"Pardon my interruption, Your Highness. Urchin said he saw a vision of Hedge Waterfall turning some blood into ripples of white. I have come to ask for permission if you would allow us to check the concerned area?"

Cyrus approved of Ophir's suggestion and said. "Leave Kiel, Natalina and Aleph. Take Nevi and Hexel with you and Lila. Make it a short trip, I am worried about Lila's stamina since she is not getting enough sleep. Plus send Urchin here."

Ophir delivered the message with the team. Kiel and Aleph complained for not joining them. Ophir called Kiel and Aleph by the corner and whispered.

"It's to monitor Natalina's condition plus the King will need your help if things get worst."

Finally Ophir was able to convince the simpleton Prince.

Lila opened a portal when Ophir, Nevi and Hexel are ready.

"Don't push yourself Lila, Tell us if your not feeling well, Okay?" Ophir adviced as Lila extend her hand and opened a portal as she acknowledge Ophir's concern.

"Yes, thanks Ophir."

Evi felt a presence approaching. She was taken aback when a portal open in front of her. When she recognised the faces, it was the youth back then. They were the one who helped her.

Hexel stared at Evi. He encountered her before in one of the tea parties his mother attended.

"The King's first love?" Hexel uttered loudly that his words echoed within the cave like structure. Evi just sweat dropped. He must be the duke's son. They are insensitive as always. They just blurt out what comes to mind.

Ophir and Nevi bowed and apologised to the woman on Hexel's behalf.

"It's okay, I am used to the duke himself. I am not expecting much from his son." Evi explained as she gracefully bow to them. Nevi just blushed at her beautiful countenance. Hexel averted his eyes from her.

"We are here to escort you back at El Oathniel Kingdom." Ophir informed.

Evi did not resist nor turn them down.

Lila was about to open a portal when a shock wave occured. The cascading water splash them and devoured them to get washed down from the falls

Hexel got hit by some rocks as he grab Evi's hand. Ophir and Nevi got washed by the river side and Lila almost got drown. The quaked suddenly stopped when the team got washed away from the Sacred ground.

A man with dark red locks walk toward them like a beast hungry for it's prey. His baby blue eyes glint in amusement as he spotted Evi. He started to radiate a darker and electrifying aura.

"Waheb dear, please regain your consciousness." Evi shouted at him but the man's eyes started to get black. His laugh were like a man with a voice within a tunnel. It was spooky.

Ophir immediately catched on and instructed Lila to take Evi to the palace. Without wasting any more time Lila swam toward Evi. Ophir glided near the supernatural. Nevi followed behind Ophir. Hexel met Lila halfway. Lila secretly used her right foot to open a portal within the water. Before the enemy got Hexel tossed from them, Lila and Evi successfully arrived at the King's throne.

Hexel grunted and groaned at the pain inflicted by his body getting slapped on the water. Ophir knew that the devil is powerful but it does not add up that the man's gift was quaking and electricity.

The man started his toying with Hexel by snapping his finger as he toss him mid air and would jammed him on the water. Ophir clench his fist in anger. Nevi gritted his teeth and picked up a stone. He threw it on the man to halt his fun upon Hexel. Nevi's actions did no effect. He just ignored them.

Evi and Cyrus finally met again after many years. Cyrus examined her state, she got so thin and pale. Evi's hair were dripping and her clothes are rugged. Gardenia just blinked the arising lump from her chest. She made her way toward Evi to break the eye contact and invited her for a nice bath and grooming.
