Chapter 2: Battle cry - 1,000 years prior

1,000 year earlier, At the age of 22, Leon had just been crowned King in place of his farther, the former King Lucas, who had ordained Leon to be King in his place before he died. The former King, Lucas had died of natural causes, even though he was from the royal bloodline of the kings, he did not obtain the eternal power to keep him alive. Leon's brother, Radeon, who was 25 years old, became his advisor and second in command if something were to happen to Leon. In this kingdom, the younger or older sibling could be ordained by the predeceasing king to rule in their place.

There was also a law which passed down for generations by the former kings of ancient times, which forbade any king or queen to marry servants, for if they did, they would be exiled out of the land and never to receive any help if needed. Royalty and Servants were forbidden to intermingle, to keep the bloodline of royalty pure and 'unstained' by servanthood.

Civilians were also forbidden for royalty to marry. If a King or Queen ever married civilians, then they too would lose their royalty and forced to live a civil life as farmers or soldiers. Royal advisors, however, could marry servants or civilians. This was the law at that time in the Kingdom of Acalarah.

This kingdom also had high respect and honour for their women, then most countries did in that time, as they believed that women were equal and could do anything just as men could. The kings and people of Acalarah believed in honouring and respecting their women because they were the mothers of their children and their men were held in the highest form of respect and honour.

All royalty were trained by the best in the Kingdom, as Leon and Radeon were educated personally by the king Lucas in preparation for them to run the kingdom from a young age, from the moment they could speak, they were educated how to run a country.

Leon had only been king for about 6 months after his father had died and already he had to go to war to conquer land to extend his kingdom and deal with a rebellious king who would not submit to the kingdom of Acalarah, after being warned so many times by King Leon to surrender or else suffer consequences, however, this rebellious king, King En-ved would not surrender, as his kingdom was crumbling beneath him economically and could not stand much longer, so it had to be surrendered over to king Leon because of the increased debt that King En-Ved had built up to surrounding nations, including Acalarah, and the only way to stop neighbouring kingdoms from taking over was by surrendering so that it could then be part of the kingdom, however King En-ved was a proud man and would rather fight than admit that his kingdom was crumbling beneath him. Hence, Leon gave the order and war was issued.

Letters of decree went out from both nations that war was going to happen between the two nations. From then, King Leon and his advisor, Radeon, headed to the battlefield, and was met by King En-ved with his rallying troops to meet them for battle. Once the kingdom of King En-Ved would be surrendered over to the King of Acalarah, then the debts would then be paid in full to the owing nations and peace be restored.

King Leon was a rich king as his father was a rich king and had left him an abundance in inheritance and left enough money for the kingdom in case wars broke out or in case of economic collapse, however, the former king had hoped that it should not come to that under his son's, Leon's reign. Leon was very wise with the finances of the kingdom, that is why it grew from the time he took over as King.

Before going into battle, it was customary in those days to meet each other on their horses and talk man to man before going into battle. Leon and King En-Ved met each other face to face, with Radeon by their side, as Radeon read out the terms and conditions of surrender for King En-Ved.

When King En-Ved heard the terms and conditions of surrender, he clenched his fists, grit his teeth and looked at the king, and said no to the surrender and tore it in their faces, turned his back on them both and walked off to his troops. "Well, I guess this means war…." Radeon said with an eyebrow raised, feeling the wind sweep across their faces watching King En-Ved walk off.

Leon was silent as he watched En-Ved walk off, "We warned him…. Let's go Radeon…." Leon said as they too returned to their troops. When returned to their troops, Leon got off his horse and gave a speech of motivation to his soldiers, reminding them that this would be an easy victory, knowing he had the power to defeat a small army of the size of King En-Ved.

After that, the king gives the order and they head into battle, the front battalion leading the battle, with the main power of troops behind to finish the finishing blow to the enemy once the battalion had brought the enemy to their knees.

King Leon, leading the battalion to fight with his men, and Radeon would lead the main power of troops behind. King En-Ved also sent his men into battle, watching from a distance on a high hill overlooking how the battle would turn out, however King En-Ved did not play fair, as he had a secret weapon up his sleeve when the battle intensified.

The battle begun as King Leon clashed his sword against one of the soldiers and the battle had begun. King Leon and King En-Ved's men clashed and the battle had broken out. The battle lasted a couple of hours into the day, suddenly, the king is surrounded by his enemies, most of his army lay wounded round about him, all hope is lost, as King En-Ved had brought out his trump card, being a secret stash of soldiers, which lay underground in a stealth attack against King Leon and his men, which outnumbered Leon's army.

As Leon is down, thinking of his people, his men, his people he was fighting for, his men looking to him on the ground as their new king, he did not want to appear weak in front of them. The wind and the dust sweeps across his face and hair in front of his enemies, bringing up every ounce of courage he had left in him, suddenly he felt a ray of hope, getting up off of the ground slowly (in slow motion), he gets up, stands to his feet, looks intensely at the enemy armies around him, looks straight at the King En-Ved across the battlefield, as Leon gets up off of the ground, the king's his eyes glimmering and shining, he looks at his hands, feels his powers within him, as a last resort, resorts to his powers to win this battle, for his men, his country and his kingdom, The king screams, jumps to the air, then smashes / punches the ground (slow motion) then quick motion, and hits it with his powerful strength, to which the whole land felt the shock wave of the king's rage, as his power sent shock waves across the whole land, to which the enemy army felt it.

En-Ved felt the power of the king, both looking at each other intensely. Leon grinned at the King Ural and punched another power shock wave through the ground which knocked most of the enemy army to the ground, taking their strength out of them. What remaining army of the king Leon had, their morale just boosted upon seeing their King in full power and gave them the strength to continue fighting this war beside their king. The king then gives the command to the men to begin the attack and keep fighting till there is no man left standing. Thousands of enemy army men come running towards the king, to which he uses his powers to push them back and destroy his enemies, advancing to the end of the front lines across the battlefield where the King Ural was, seeing that the king was advancing towards him, feared for his life, knowing he had lost the battle, decided to retreat with his general. The remaining army retreated with him. Leon's army cheered on watching the enemy retreat. The king was not satisfied. He went after King En-Ved with all his might on his black stallion horse, sword in his hand. Radeon coming up behind him with the remaining army. The king finally caught up with the King Ural and knocked him down to the ground, both had a sword fight / punch on together, it was a battle of the kings. The king's first kingly battle.
