8 The Journey Begins

We started heading out at the first light that hit us in the morning. I looked at Mark at the moment and he looked Regal at that time. I looked at Anna but she wasn't paying attention to me or even Mark she was thinking about something else, something really deep from the look on her face. I just kept it cool trying not to show my exhaustion from last night and the anxiety of being in a place I don't know for a long time. It was then and there I noticed something, I hadn't eaten since yesterday. How oblivious I was. It was unusual of me to go a whole day without food. Maybe that's what happens in this world I thought. We walked for a while until we got to a town. The people in the town were very few and their eyes was filled with sorrow, corpses. of dead bodies littered everywhere with a choking stench of blood. It was there it hit my head. Someone very strong did this. Was it the one of Six Seconds? Who could be so cruel.

"Argh!!! leave me alone Argh!!!!"

A crooked voiced shouted, interrupting my Thoughts. It was all because of Mark. He had gone to check on a guy who was sitted on the floor holding a body placed on his lap. The boy wasn't crying at all. he was just shouting. Soon after he stopped, looked at my direction, gazed at it for sometime and started heading for me. I ducked. After sometime I stood up from there and saw him heading towards the person at my back; it was Anna.

She looked as if she had an idea of what happened here and why the man was heading her way in rage and anger but her eyes looked as if she didn't give a damn. It was as emotionless as a fish eyes.

"You monster!" said the man.

Just before he gripped her throat of which he was aiming for, she drew her whip and lashed the ground in front of her in the direction of the man, warning him without saying a word to come no closer than where he was. He leaped backwards a little bit to keep his distance. The man stood there, Terrified and Shocked at the same time.

"Come any closer and you'll regret it." Said Anna taking a stance of defense. She probably would have attacked if she wanted to but her attacks may be fatal to both the guy and us so she decided to go on a defensive instead.

The guy she was talking stopped not because he changed his mind but to see which pose she took and eventually kept running towards her. He bent to the ground, pierced his hands into the soil and dragged it with him. He kept dragging until it formed two giant boulders that engulfed his arms. He was rushing towards her with the intent to kill her. It was there and then I witnessed Annabelle Scourge show her true colors; the World Punisher. She whip the lash towards his arm and the second to the other arm. In just a single whip the two boulders came crumbling down. She lashed the whip one more time aiming for his neck attempting to decapitate him until...

"Enough!" .

she was stopped by Mark who interfered when he thought it was getting out of hand.

"I do not wish to see violence in front of my sight especially if it's between us humans. You have no shame Anna. If I had left you to it you would have really killed him?" he asked waiting for his answer but never actually got it.

"I am so sorry young man. Is there any way I can make it up to you?."

"Yes" he said in between tears.

"kill her. Kill her! she's a monster! kil... " he was about finishing his sentence but soon fainted. I never knew why he fainted was it because of the terrifying stare Anna gave?

injuries from his previous battles had been infected? or he was just tired? nobody knew. All we knew was that in this world Annabelle Scourge was seen to be a monstrosity that strook fear wherever she went. I had guessed she was the one that caused the onslaught that took place here but I didn't want to believe it.

Soon after the boy collapsed, the remaining few people that were still alive looked towards our direction to see what was causing the commotion only to do the exact same thing the boy did when he saw us; glare at Anna but no matter how many stared none was bold enough to attempt an attack on her, except for the boy.

"She has come to kill us all. I wonder who she'll start with."

A voice echoed from the crowd.

"Please let us live please I beg of you."

another voice then eventually the started making noise and their intentions were different everytime. some wanted to live while others wanted to die,some seemed protection from the beast that killed them, some wanted mercy from her but even in all of this, none and I repeat none of them were bold enough to launch an attack; except for the boy. We carried his unconscious body to an abandoned house. In all this I never felt a sign of remorse from Anna.

Soon after the incident in the city, every where was calm again. Mark was standing outside staring up to the evening Sky. The boy was about waking up when Anna started.

"I wasn't like this you know...I wasn't born a killer for life but I had to do it."

"No your not, Anna your a good person. I know that." I said, trying to reassure her.

"No I'm not a good person. No one is anymore in this World. You said you came from outside here?" she said trying to change the topic.

"Oh yes I came from Sky Camp."

"You do realize that once you get in there is no getting out ..... right?"
