3.1 Zhang Chi

Su Lin opened his eyes and quickly looked around him as he got up. Seeing nothing, he laid back down and closed his eyes. Su Lin's breathing was steady and his face was expressionless. You would think that he was emotionless if you didn't see the lone, clear tear trickled down his cheek.

He stayed like that for what felt like hours before he once again opened his eyes. His once vibrant and bright eyes were a notch dimmer than before.

"System, System where are you?" Su Lin called.

"I'm right here Host." It said as it appeared before Su Lin.

"Is it possible to see what happened after I died?" Su Lin asked.

"I'm afraid not Host. Host, since you failed to complete the quests of this world, you will have to face punishments in the next world." System replied.

Su Lin sighed heavily to himself, "What are they?" he asked with an apathetic tone.

"You cannot act out of character in the world Host and I cannot tell you your missions in advance. You will have to uncover them as you go along." System replied.

Su Lin nodded his head in understanding. "How many points do I have left?" He asked.

"You still have 1,100 points Host. Would you like to purchase something from the shop?" System asked.

"Yes, I want to buy the Martial arts option." Su Lin said.

"Okay Host, you have now made your purchase. You now have 100 points left. Please step into this room." System led Su Lin into a separate area, "You will spend 80 years in here learning it. I wish you luck Host." System said before he left Su Lin in the room.

80 years passed in a blink of an eye before Su Lin got out of the room. His once relaxed face hardened into a cold exterior. It was as if nothing could penetrate his body when he stood still. An aura of dominance exuded from him.

"System." Su Lin called.

"You're out Host."

"Yes, send me to the next world." Su Lin ordered.

"Yes Host." System complied.

Su Lin then fainted. When he opened his eyes, all he saw were trees that reached up to the sky above and all he could hear were the birds chirping and bugs flying about.

Su Lin stretched his limbs out before shook his body out right to his tails. That's when Su Lin paused his actions. He looked down at his hands and saw that they were now white, furry paws. Su Lin looked around him and walked forward in search of some kind of pond or river.

When Su Lin discovered a waterfall, he leaned over on the edge of the bank and studied his reflection in the water. He was shocked at what he saw. He was now a fox. His fur was pure white with a purple gem-like dot on his forehead. His once black eyes have now turned purple. He had pointed ears and 3 trails waving in the back.

"System." Su Lin called.

"Yes Host?"

"What am I?" Su Lin asked softly.

"Host, you are a Celestial Ice Fox. They are creatures of the coldest regions of the world and are extremely rare. The most common of them are the Ice Foxes but what makes them and you different is that you have royal blood in you." System replied.

Su Lin nodded his head, "Then why do I have 3 tails?" he asked.

"One special trait of the Ice Fox is that they are born with 3 tails which tells them apart from regular foxes. But what makes the Celestial Ice Fox special is that the number of tails they have signifies how powerful they are. The most powerful Celestial Ice Fox has 9 tails in all. Host, you only have 3 tails which means you were born recently." System explained.

"I understand," Su Lin said, "What is this world?"

"This is a cultivation world Host," System said, "This world is made up of different races ranging from humans to dragons. There is a cultivation system here that goes from the Qi-Realms to the Martial Realms all the way to the God Realm. Then it goes from the God Realm to the Celestial Realm and finally Supreme Ruler." System explained.

"Host, because of your blood-line, you were born already in Martial Initial." System said.

"Okay." Su Lin said as he took in all the information. "Is there a way to change back into a human?" Su Lin asked.

"Yes Host, when you reach God Realm, you will gain the ability to transform into a human at will." System responded.

"I see, who am I exactly?"

"Sorry Host, that goes against your punishment. You will have to find out yourself." System said.

Su Lin sighed to himself and moved away from the edge of the waterfall. He walked back into the forest and wandered around.

"System, can you at least tell me where I am?" Su Lin asked as he looked around the forest, totally lost.

"Yes Host, you are in Crystal Forest which is situated in the Frost abyss. If you walk forward in the way you are facing, you will be able to get out of the forest." System said.

Su Lin nodded his head but frowned as he thought of something. Now why would a newborn be all alone in this forest. Su Lin thought to himself. He thought for a moment but gave up when he couldn't think of a plausible answer. Su Lin the padded forward in the direction System had told him.

He kept on walking until he came to an empty clearing covered in snow. Su Lin looked up at the sky and saw that it was getting darker so he found and patch of snow that was covered by a tree and dug a hole. He then curled himself in and drifted off to sleep, but not completely.

Su Lin kept a bit of his conscious awake just incase an intruder happened to come by. The sun set and the moon rose up in the sky. It was a dark night since the moon was being shielded by the slowly drifting clouds.
