9 1.8 Ye Ren

I rode the elevator to the bottom floor while finishing my sandwich quickly. I stepped out into the lobby and saw that people were already there, dressed and ready.

I searched the room for a shadow of my parents but couldn't find them. Instead I saw my brother and sister together with a bunch of arrogant looking people. Before I could look away, my brothers eyes met mine and we just strayed at each other like that.

I took it as a staring contest to see who could hold longer. Of course, I won when Su Shu finally looked away.

I smirked in triumph and directed my attention over to the mini snack bar. Did I ever mention that I was a foodie, and a big one at that. My favorites all had something in common and that's sugar and no vegetables. I honestly can't fathom how people can put these two things together.

I walked over to the bar and took a few suckers. And by 'a few' I mean the whole bowl. I just poured it all in my carry bag.

I also took a few chocolates and was about to take the whole thing before a hand grabbed them away from me.

I was in a dazed shock before I snapped out of it. I turned around fuming at the person who had the gall to take my babies away from me.

"You will get sick if you eat all of this," A familiar voice rang.

"You are not the boss of me," I glared at him and tried to grab the bowl of chocolates out of his hands.

"Baby," he whispered in my ears, "you can have some if I can feed it to you," he said seductively.

"Really?" I raised my brow, not believing him.

"Of course, I would never lie to you," he said as he bit my ear gently.

It took all I could not to moan. I didn't want to give him that satisfaction.

"Fine, give it," I demanded.

He just smirked and took a chocolate, unwrapped it and then popped it in his mouth. He then leaned in and kissed me.

Caught off guard I opened my mouth but that only let him get an entrance. He slipped his tongue inside my mouth, taking the melted chocolate with it. It poured in my mouth as his tongue moved round and round as if trying to cover the inside of my mouth in a layer of the delicious sweet. Before so could react to this invasion, he released me and stepped back. He then strutted away leaving my flabbergasted.

After a few minutes, my soul came back to my body. I looked around and saw that nobody seemed to have noticed us.

Shaking my head turned my attention back to the counter and noticed that I could find the chocolate bowl anywhere.

"That bastard," I said as I gritted my teeth. I found that I am gritting my teeth a lot lately. It's all that bastards fault.

"Everyone, it's time to go outside," a voice called snapping me out of my thoughts. I picked up my carry bag and followed the crowd of people going through the door to the field behind the hotel.

I looked around the green grass and spotted my parents. I strode over to them and noticed that they were conversing with two people. As I got closer I saw that they were Mr. Xia and a woman who I presumed was his wife. They stopped talking when they saw me approaching.

"Hello mother, father," I said to my parents and then I turned around and greeted the Xia couple.

"My son told me that you both already met and got off on a good start," he said happily.

"Yes, we got off on a great start," I said, outwardly smiling but inwardly scowling.

"Speak of the devil, here he comes now," my father pointed.

I looked to where he was pointing and saw Ye Ren heading this way in a golf cart. He stopped right in front of me and got off. He nodded to my parents, and greeted his parents.

"I'm going to take Lin'er out," he told both our parents.

"Good, this is good for bonding," my father laughed, ignoring what Ye Ren just called me, "Lin'er, you can go with him."

"Yes father," I reluctantly agreed.

I then got in the passenger seat of the golf cart while he entered the drivers seat. He then drove away towards a hole. We both got off, strapped on our bags and headed out but not before opening my bag and popping in a sucker.

"You can't just eat candy like that," Ye Ren chided as he reached to grab the sucker out of my mouth.

I sidestepped and avoided his hands. I was about to yell at him until I heard a voice calling my name. I turned around and saw Su Shu, Su Mian, and a bunch of other people heading out way.

"Eldest brother, pleasure meeting you here," Su Mian said in that bitch voice of hers and smiled.

"Can't say I feel the same for you," I said smiling back.

"Brother, don't you think that's a little to much," Su Shu spoke up at the side.

"Su Shu, don't mind him," a guy next to Su Shu said glaring at me.

Su Shu nodded and smiled. "Brother, are you up for a round of golf?" He asked.

"No," I said bluntly.

"So you already know you're going to lose," the same guy from before sneered.

"Stop jumping to conclusions," I rolled my eyes, "I don't play anything if there's no stakes involved,"

I said while smiling like a cheshire cat.

"What do you want to bet then," Su Shu asked.

"Hmm, well since it's only the first round, we can start off with a measly half a million dollars," I said as if it were just pocket change.

"WHAT!" Su Shu yelled.

"Is it too little?" I asked innocently, "do you want me to increase the bets to a full million then?"

"Lin'er, don't you think that even that amount is not enough," Ye Ren whose been quiet this whole time finally spoke up.

"I was thinking that too," I nodded, agreeing with him.

Su Shu who looked like he was about to kill someone breathed in and out really fast with a red face until he calmed back down.

"No eldest brother, half a million is a good amount," he said gritting his teeth with bloodshot eyes, "but I get to pick who plays for me since you're the one initiating the bet."

"I see no problem with that," I nodded my head agreeing to his request.

"Min Tong, come here," my brother called. A person then pushed his way through the crowd until he reached us.

'System, who is this guy?' I asked curiously.

"Host, this is Min Tong. He is one of the best golf players of his age group and achieved third place at Nationals."

I then smiled to myself, thinking of the competition.
