69 chapter 9

Flashback

Today Richer, a fourth stage warrior that served as the mayor trusted aid, was currently strolling throughout the town district for his break, unexpectedly when he got there, he witnesses a commotion caused by civilians gathering in front of a barbecue ribs bar.

He quickly made his way there to find out what happened, the scene was indeed quite surprising.

He saw a youth, roughly fifteens to sixteen years old torturing the useless son of the mayor by breaking his leg.

Richer did not really mind that the useless young master got his leg broken since it would likely deter him from causing trouble in town and saved his father, the Mayor a headache.

However what happened next scare Richer.

The young man that was responsible for breaking the young master legs, pulled out a spear from thin air and was about to stab and kill the useless son.

Beating and breaking legs is fine, however, trouble would be endless if the useless son were to be killed.

So he ran to the rescue of the useless young master by parrying the spear strike that was intended to kill him.

Flashback ended.

"You! You poisoned your weapon!" Richer looked at Leonard with eyes full of disbelief.

"Oh stop being a baby, the poison isn't that lethal, it just caused an infection to the wound," Leonard told Richer while having a goofy smile on his face.

"But poison is still poison! That's dirty!" Richer shouted at Leonard.

"...coming from a fourth stage warrior who's attacking a first stage warrior teenager." Leonard retorted back at Richer.

"You-! Pffftt!" Richer was about to say something however before he could finish what he was saying Tyrant punched the man in the gut and sent him flying upward.

"Good one Tyrant!" Leonard complimented his minion.

"Eat this! Impact Ball- Maximum power!" he then used his favorite knockback skill on the man who was in the air.

"What-" Richer mind went blank when he suddenly felt a powerful force pushed him flying the other direction.

*Boom! Richer was sent crashing into the group of guards that surrounded Leonard and Tyrant.

*Cough Richer coughed out a mouthful of blood.

"You're not a warrior! You're a mage!" Richer shouted at him.

"Technically, I'm also a warrior, it's just I rarely fight using my hand since I could just blast people to pieces with just a few spells." Leonard corrected the battered man.

Right now Richer wished nothing to but beat up that useless son of the mayor once this is all over, he could piss anyone off- BUT a mage, especially one as young and powerful as the teenager in front of him, he know that since a teenager could be this strong in magic at such a young age, must mean that he had a powerful teacher, and that teacher was likely more powerful than himself since even his or her student could overpower a fourth stage warrior like him with a single spell.

"What will it take for you not to kill the useless young master, youngster." Richer bit his lip as he struggled to cough out those words.

"...not killing him huh?... I still have to say this, but it would save me a lot more trouble if I were to end him right now because I hated it when people try to scheme against me in the shadow, so I'll just remove the possible root cause here and now." Leonard told the man.

"No, we can work this out, I can tell the mayor to this idiot's legs permanently so that he will never go out and caused trouble- ever again! We can also compensate you!" Richer suggested.

"Richer! What are you saying!" the mayor son looked at the man who had previously tried to save him spoke out those words and couldn't help but blurted out in sheer terror.

"Shut up you idiot!" Richer roared at the young man.

"You there go inform the mayor-" Richer called out for one of the guards to go and informed the mayor.

"That is no longer necessary...I'm already here." then a stern voice sounded out from the crowd, and a well-groomed middle age man walked out from behind of the useless young master with a few guards following behind.

"Father! Save me! I don't want to die!" the young man then immediately crawled to the mayor and cried.

"Shut up, I'll deal with you later, Charl" the man glared at his son

Charl immediately shut his mouth after hearing what his father said.

The mayor then looks at Leonard.

"Youngster, please give me some face and forgive my son, if you do, I swear on my family name that I will discipline you better and I will compensate you for the trouble." the mayor bowed his head.

These words from the mayor surprised everyone, Leonard included.

"....fine, I'll give you some face, but do not expect it to happen the second time," Leonard told the man, Leonard then went back to the barbecue ribs bar.

"Mayor, why did you bow your head to that kid?" Richer asked the mayor.

"I- know we had no choice BUT to bowed our head to him unless you don't want to live anymore." the mayor told him.

"Just who is that kid?" Richer questioned

"...I only met him once a few years ago when I visit the duchy capital for a meeting, let just say that the kid is related to the Welser family." the Mayor dropped the bombshell onto Richer.

"What!" Richer then thoughted back to the moment when Leonard said that he was above all of them, turned out that it was all true.

"What are we going to do about the young master, mayor?" Richer asked.

"Just carry him back to the estate and call for a doctor." the mayor ordered.

Back inside the barbecue ribs bar.

"So… did you had fun outside? And did you killed anyone?" Mavis asked him as she finished the last ribs on Leonard plate when he was out.

"Having fun fighting against a fourth stage warrior, yes- killing? No, I haven't killed anyone YET, and hey! You stole my ribs!" Leonard told her and then shouted as he finally noticed that his serving of ribs has disappeared.
