6 Chapter 6

In the city of Trier, the capital of the Ironwood Duchy.

Leonard was strolling down the street alone in the marketplace of the city to see if he could find any rare and exotic goods that stopped by in the city.

Unsurprisingly he indeed runs into a lot of weird and exotic goods.

Such as pets, weapons, foods and spices and also random magical items as well.

As he walked through the marketplace something suddenly caught his eyes.

The object was a round metal ball, completely black and smooth, the size of an apple- the metal object was sold by a ragged old man, the old man figure was quite messing- unkept beard and hairs, he also has that weird strange smell coming off of him.

Another noticeable feature of this old man was that he was missing an arm.

The old man notices that Leonard was interested in the metal ball and told him.

"100 gold coins." said the old man.

Leonard raised an eyebrow after the old man told him of the price.

"Old man, can you at least tell what this thing is? Before I spend money on it." Leonard asked.

"Don't really know, all I know is that the item was found in the tomb of an unknown mage, hidden in a corner." said the old man.

"Well...that wasn't a lot of information….System can you scan this object and see what this is?" Leonard thought and gave the mental command to the system.

[Scanning…...complete]

[Memory Sealing Orb]

Description: An Orb that was used to store a massive amount of data- likely used by the mage of the Dark Era- roughly 1,200 years ago.

"Holy shit! I've struck gold this time!" Leonard was screaming excitedly from the inside while maintaining a poker face on the outside.

"Can you lower the price by a bit?" he tries to haggle with the old man.

"Absolutely not young man, I still have a mouth to feed at him and I've forsaken an arm trying to grab that object." the old man said.

"Well isn't he a tough nut to crack…" Leonard thought.

"Alright- I'll buy this if you include this- and these too." Leonard then grabbed random junk that was laying around.

"I can only give you all of these with the ball for a discount only, that would be a total of 125 gold coins." the old man said.

"Alright deal!" Leonard said excitedly and immediately handed him a bank card that has the value of 100 gold coins on it and another one that worth 25.

These cards specifically design and gave out by the banking company of this world. With these cards, one could withdraw a certain amount of wealth from the bank.

However they were not easy to be counterfeit since the bank specifically hires mages to create this bank card- so each and every one of them was unique- but has a similar pattern that only the bank could discern.

After completing the deal- the surrounding vendor gave Leonard a weird look.

"Look like the old man manage to scam someone after all- buying a useless metal for 100 gold coins, what can you even do with it?"

One of them quietly to another.

"Who knows, rich kids these days." said a woman.

Leonard paid no mind to all the gossip and just kept on looking through the market for the entire day and only went back to the castle when the sun is set.

Within his room.

Leonard was sitting on his bed and holding the metal ball on one hand.

"Alright system- can you extract the information from this Memory orb?"

Leonard asked mentally.

"Alright, extract it." Leonard gave the command.

And instantly a massive amount of information began to rush into his head.

[System detects an update- commence updating process along with reading data.]

That was the last thing he remembers before he passed out.
