152 chapter 5

"Great uncle!" from the distant, Leonard could see a young man, who looked younger than him riding his horse toward him and the old man while shouted out, great uncle.

"That's my great nephew…" the old man had a smile on his face as he looked at the valiant youngster, that was his nephew.

When the youngster arrived, he gave Leonard a glance over before hopping down from his horse to greet him.

"Greeting stranger, I am Ro...the new chief of the Red Eagle Tribe of Nomad." the youngster introduced himself.

"Erm...greeting, Chief of the Red Eagle Tribe, I am Leonard...Welser." Leonard too, introduced himself since he saw the youngster in front of him greeted him politely- however he did not know the custom of the plain nomad, so he had to improvised by mixing in some nice words and cobbled them up- trying to create something nice and polite out of it.

Leonard was also quite surprised to find that this youngster was also the chief of a tribe, at first he thought the old man that was next to the youngster was the chief himself- since he could somewhat sense the power radiating from him was around that of a rank four- the most power within the group of traveling nomad.

The old man notices that Leonard had a strange look on his face which likely confused.

"Are you perhaps thought about why I am not the chief, and why my nephew who held that position instead?"

"Erm...yes please enlighten me...I only read a few lines within books that told about the chief selecting process of the nomad tribes down south." Leonard had remembered about reading a book about the nomad of the south while looking through the mansion library for any useful pieces of information that could be used to increase his strength when he first arrived.

The few lines told that the chief selection process usually involved in an all-out battle between the strongest individual of the tribe, the winner would then gained the recognition of their tribe totem spirit and lead the tribe in battle.

It was the pieces of information given by the travelers and merchant who visited the southern Violet Plain Kingdom.

Don't let the name the Violet Plain Kingdom fool you, it is really not a kingdom, it just mostly a collections of powerful tribes and clans coming together to take control of the entire chunk of the southern land, every ten years they would select a war chief to lead that coalition and occasionally do some raiding on the northern kingdoms.

"Hmmm, that is not all incorrect, but that pieces of information can only usually applied to the war-like tribes and clans of the plain, most of us here selected our chief through the agreement of the elders of the tribe- I was one of the elder of the tribe myself...and as of now, probably the last."

His voice was filled with sadness as he remembered the fate of his family and other members of the tribe.

From the old man tone of voice, Leonard could feel the despair, and all the negative emotion that was mixed within, it must be rough being one of the weak, he thought.

It also reminded Leonard of his own power- comparing to the creature that inhabited the vast multiverse and different realities out there, he's comparable to the food.

"I must work harder…" that was his one goal for now.

"Hey, erm Leonard, do you mind tell us where you and that beautiful maiden are from? We're quite curious you see, this will be our first time traveling north." the youngster name Ro informed Leonard.

"Your wife only told me about her homeland- which was far, far away from here, but nothing too specific." he then added.

"W-wife?" Leonard was now confused he almost choked on the bag of water that he was given by the old man so that he could quench his thirst.

"Are you not? I mean- down in the southern land, when you are fifteen of age- you are technically an adult and could marry and have children."

"No no- we're not at that level yet...but it's close, but enough of that- let get back to the point about you guys asking about the northern kingdom- sorry to ruin it for you, but I only know so much about the northern part of the Evergreen kingdom- but I guess that you could say, the city can be quite lively."

"Is that so? Tell me more about it! I mean, we're all heading to the Evergreen kingdom after-all since it is the most viable option, the more we know- the better." the old man listened in with interest, same as the youngster name Ro.

Leonard spent some time to explain to the old man and the youngster named Ro about what he knows about the Evergreen kingdom, the kinds of stuff that even most commoners who lived in the kingdom would likely to know- were expressed and informed to this group of traveling nomad who wanted to join his kingdom.

Wait- that isn't the right word to describe the kingdom yet, it doesn't belong to him, not yet.

"I see, so that's the case, I guess we can rest easy now, knowing that the kingdom laws and custom itself isn't that demanding of us." the old man stroke his beard as he went into deep thought about his next plan.

It was only then that someone manages to inform Sachi that Leonard has awoken- hearing the news of his own recovery, Sachi quickly bolted over and hugged him tightly.

"Leonard, I was so worried, you have been unconscious for days now and nothing we tried could manage to wake you up from that coma."

"Don't worry about it Sachi, you know how sturdy I am right? I doubt anything could kill me just yet, I still have my dream and ambition after all...and I'm sorry...I made you worried about me" he embraced her back.

After the two flirting session out in the open, the two of them- they had a great time chatting their way into the day to try and relief out as much stressed that they have been accumulated during their long journey to their safe refuge- in this case, it was the Evergreen kingdom.

Before they knew it, it was time for supper as the sun was setting, the entire convoy gathered around a large bonfire that was lit on the side of the road- it is where they cooked foods and be closer to one another, the food of course- came from the warrior going out hunting for games.

The people of the Red Eagle tribe reserved a larger portion to the women and children while only have enough to fill their stomach for able body male and the chief, the elder was excluded since he was their senior- of course, the elder refused the special treatment and gave the warriors and chief a scolding.

"They seem really close to one another…" Sachi commented as she looked at the group of refugees. "They're, after all, one big family...so this is to be expected," Leonard whispered

It was then that a toddler came over to their side, it was the same one that Leonard had- unfortunately scared earlier that day.

He came over while holding a wooden bowl that contained a roasted hare.

Seeing this, Leonard couldn't help but remember that he too, had some roasted meats stored in his inventory.

He quickly pulled out a few large pieces and handed over to the toddler to take back to their group before accepting the food that was given to the both of them.

"Here Sachi, have some too, we didn't really have a chance to taste much of "beef" since that rough landing we had a while back." Leonard pulled out a portion of meat and shared it Sachi.

The moment the both of them bit into the juicy meat...it was high heaven.
