197 chapter 50

Down in the secret passageway that lead down to the subterranean world that was hidden beneath the royal palace, Leonard was currently standing before the same door that lead him and Augustus toward the underground Well of Power.

"Let see if this work…" Leonard raised his right arm and began to fold up the sleeve on that arm and gently placed his hand onto the sphere that was in the middle of the door.

Then magical circuit began to appear on the hand that touched the sphere, it was then that the door began to recede and reveal the path toward the deeper part of the subterranean world.

With that, Leonard continued further on through the white pyramid elevator in the middle of the underground ocean.

The moment the elevator door open, he can finally see his objective right before his very eyes, the well of power, still oozing it golden viscous liquid like it always does from the giant core with a large crack and hanging on the ceiling with conduits and wirings

"Ah~ yes, I'm back to see you again my beautiful one way ticket to greatness." he smirked as he looked at the well of power in front of him before advancing forward and closer to the giant object that may hold the secret about the world of the "Gods" left by the world traveler.

When he was close enough, right before the large crack of the giant sphere where the liquid are constantly oozing out, Leonard pulled out the red bead that was the "key" to the object before him.

"Right...how the hell do I use this key…" Leonard questioned as he suddenly remembered a very important fact- there was no description on how to use the key itself to unlock whatever the hell that was hidden within the well of power.

"Well...let see ...that crack look promising." he then leaped upward with a burst of power from his leg and grabbed onto a hanging wire right before the crack that run through the middle of the giant sphere and pulled himself onto one of the giant conduit before leaping onto the giant spherical object that was the well of power.

"I knew you would come back…" an old ages voice surprised Leonard from behind.

"Who!" Leonard reacted by preparing to launch a spell at the voice from his back.

"Hold your horse, young man- you don't want to hurt me, else it's going to be treason." the man who was responsible for the voice walked out from the shadow, revealing himself to be none other than the Emperor, his grandfather.

"Grandfather! What are you doing here? When did you get behind?" Leonard shouted out in nervousness as he could not detect the old man until he actually spoke up.

"I'm here to make sure that you aren't doing anything stupid, I'm too old for this- I can't possibly watch the potential pillar of the Empire against the other invader fallen due to doing something stupid- good example, trying to have another taste from the Well of Power…I was here the whole time, waiting you know- this kind of things happened a lot… trust me." his grandfather replied to him in a casual manner.

"but...I'm not here to have another drink…" Leonard replied while cold sweat was dripping from his forehead.

"Oh don't worry, you can tell me the truth, I promise I won't get angry…" the old man waved his hand chiming Leonard.

"That's the truth… I wasn't planning on taking another sip, I just want to sate my curiosity about the Well of Power." Leonard told him- which was somewhat truthful, but not completely that of the truth, he couldn't just tell anyone about such a secret as "there might be treasure within the well of power." - who would be that crazy as to blurt out something like that, Leonard thoughted.

"Hmmm, you can stop hiding it now, I know what you took from the treasury… the lockbox left by the founder of the Empire, the same Ancestor who discover the Well of Power… I'm sure whatever he placed in that box would be related to the Well hidden secret,"

"I don't know what you are talking about." Leonard feign ignorance at the old man questioning.

"Oh please, you little brat, did you honestly think that no one had tried to pry open that wretched box since it was moved into the treasury vault? I've tried it, my father had tried and so does his father...but no one, absolutely no one had the ability to open that box- so what do you think would happen when you discovered that you choose that box instead of any other treasure that was within the vault?" the old emperor questioned on further.

"...you mean...absolutely no one had managed to open the lockbox since the time of whom know when?" Leonard asked.

"Of course! Why else would that cursed thing would be in the vault sitting there and gathering dust? People who tried to open the thing either died from critical mana deprivation -or get their entire magical circuit and reserve destroyed due to be drain of mana to an all time low dangerous level, the moment I notice that box was missing I knew you did something stupid- either that or you actually managed to open up that box." he stated.

Leonard now was sweating bullets after hearing the history of the trap box that he picked from the vault of treasure, he was extremely glad that he had an all time high reserve of magical energy in store just for that moment, else he would probably join the troll who left the box behind in the after life- that or become a cripple, unable to use magic ever again.

"So, tell me- what is it that was hidden within that abomination?" the old man asked him.

Leonard could only cursed his luck as the old man actually guessed almost everything.

"this...I found this…" Leonard pulled out the figurine and tossed it to his grandfather in a casual manner- his grandfather reaction upon seeing the object being tossed toward him was that in sheer horror and paled the moment he caught the object.

"What the hell were you thinking! Casually tossing the image of the Empire founder?!" his grandfather yelled at him.

"...you wanted to know what I found inside the box… there you have it...that and this drawing here." Leonard then pulled out the piece of paper with the drawing of the Well of Power.

"This is the reason why I was curious… the marking on that picture and the sacred well of power." Leonard told him, but he specifically left out the important part, it was the key.

"...I see…I think I know what you're looking for… it's right here...within that crack...but you would die if you were to bathe in that liquid...you're not that insane right?" he asked Leonard.

"If that were to actually touched my skin, then yes- but who said that it going to touch my bare-skin?" he smirked before his body was fully covered in head to toe with the nano battle suit and he leaped into the opening of the Well of Power, leaving his grandfather stood there in a daze for a few seconds before prompting him to rushed over to where Leonard was previously.

"Don't do that you idiot! You WILL DIE?!" he roared as he tried to grab a hold on Leonard- but he barely missed it by a few centimeters.

"Noooo!!!!!" the old man cried out as the sound of Leonard body submerged into the thick viscous liquid of the Well of Power with a splashing sound.

"Hmmm...what the hell am I suppose to do with this traps and futas collections?!" Leonard lamented as he looked at the lockbox which was kept in a sealed barrier right before him within his mansion.

"should I purge it through fire?...no..." he put away that ideas immediately.

"maybe I should use that as a Weapon of Mass Destruction against my enemies...they will never expect that..." he grinned in a sinister manner.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you... those collections are ... mine." a voice called for Leonard from behind his back, which jolted him into high alert mode.

"who!" he shouted, noticing a rippling in the space from behind his back, a figure then stepped out from that formerly empty space, revealing a red hair giant of a man.

"Me? I'm Jon, Jon- Dare!!!" he shouted before shattering Leonard magical barrier with a fireball spell and snatched the box and disappeared.

"...the hell just happened?" Leonard was stunned speechless, noticing his room was a mess as most of the furniture were on fire- either that or turned to ashes.
