The old emperor smiled at Leonard warmly as he spoke those words.

"Yes...grandfather…" Leonard muttered as he stared at the old man with both of his eyes open wide enough and almost bulged out, as the information he received previously was too shocking, someone- a mortal, actually made it pass the level cap and broke into that realm.

"If you stare at me that much, I might blush you know…" his grandfather chuckled as he saw how Leonard still stared at him with those eyes.

"I know that you might have a lot of question as to why I asked for you, personally." his grandfather guessed.

"I do have a lot of questions, questions that needed to be answered." Leonard nodded after hearing what his grandfather had said.

"Ask away then, I will try to answer them to the best of my ability." his grandfather nodded.

"Then please, excuse my rudeness...but what's with my family having so much issue? Especially for my own mother, why does she had to leave my father and I, and return to the Empire? And why do I have to be fed that my mother had died? I am really curious." Leonard narrowed his eyes as he asked his grandfather.

Upon hearing Leonard first of many questions, the old Emperor let out a deep long sigh.

"I knew you would ask something like that." the old man leaned back on his throne as he remembered the event that took place roughly eighteen years in the past.

"What exactly happened back then?" Seeing his grandfather sat in silence for a long time, Leonard repeated his question for the old man.

"I'd called back your mother to the Empire, I did that to protect her… and her first born son… even though she had run away with that shitty brat, in the end… she is still my daughter."

The voice from the old man contained great emotion, that of caring.

"Protect? Protect her and Augustus from what? Who would actually bother to look for my mother in the backwater countries out west?" he was curious, seeing the initial reaction as the old Emperor mentioned his father Erik, as "shitty brat" he could guess that something happened, most likely how his father and his mother eloped together into the backwater country and lived together for so many years- yet all suddenly, she was called back to the Empire along with her first born son, Augustus.

"We...had enemies, they were looking specifically for the people who had the direct link to the royal family, your mother- was among the top of their list, I had to call her back to the empire, for her safety- as to why she only brought along only Augustus, you had to ask her that yourself." the old emperor told Leonard.

"What enemy? Who in the world could threaten the royal family so much that you had to recall even the member who ran away(eloped) from home?" his eyebrow raised a bit.

That was what he was curious about the most, who in the hell could actually make an old monster before him, to be so much on guard that he had to go that far to call back his own mother, who probably was stolen away by his dad to a backwater kingdom like the Evergreen and live out their life to the point of having three children?

Now that Leonard think about it, his father, Erik was indeed really brave… to actually eloped with the princess from one of the most powerful human force on the continent itself and actually live through that achievement and had three kids.

Plus one point for papa Erik, Leonard couldn't help but to compliment his father for having that much balls to accomplished the deed.

"It's the otherworldly invader… they have come for the secret of the royal family, the secret of which only the direct chosen descendant can access… your mother was one of those direct descendant…they are very powerful, their ship was capable of blocking our the sun, their weapons...scorched the earth...and boiled the ocean...they are cruel beyond measure, those fiends will slaughter anyone who stood in their path, be it the demon themselves or us human alike- at least the demon have a sense of honor and won't kill the old and the young...these monsters...they just do not care, and they had set their sight on the royal family of Romanii- and that bitch who ruled the long ears across the mist ocean." the old man told him.

His grandfather spit out a blob of saliva as he spoke about the ruler of what likely to be the elves, who made their home on the other side of the mist ocean.

As Leonard listened on to the conversation, the more he was interested, first was who the heck was the otherworldly invader? Could they be aliens from other space- or creature from the multiverse? But remembering all of those scientific airship that was floating nonchalantly in the airspace above the capital, the theory of aliens from outer space would actually make more sense, another point of interest was the secret of the royal family and that of the elves queen.

Why would "aliens" be targeting these two specific targets?

Leonard rubbed his chin slowly as he went into deep thought.

"You must be curious about the secret, right? Don't worry- as a recognized descendant of the Romanii royal family, you will have that chance of witnessing what it is…" his grandfather smiled at him, and breaking his train of thought.

They continued to chat on happily for a while longers, with the chamberlain and Augustus looking at the two with a strange and weird expression of course, normally- they wouldn't find it that strange to see a grandfather chatting happily with his grandson- but in this case, the emperor himself rarely showed much emotion with his children and the other member of the royal family who lived in the empire, he cared for them, sure- but not to this extend.

"Alright, I believe I've occupied much of your time now, Leonard, you should go see your mother now, I'm sure she missed you a lot, after that I shall arrange for your recognition ceremony myself- and Augustus, do show your little brother around." he said cheerfully before casually stood up from the throne and headed out, followed by the chamberlain.

"was...erm...Grandfather...always acting like that? If he didn't wear that crown and dress all fancy, I would think that he's just any old grandpa from the countryside who retired and enjoying their old age…" Leonard made a comment as both him and Augustus also left as well- this time, to look for his birth mother.

"Oh heck no, grandfather usually displayed tough love to many of his children and grandchildren who live within the capital, but for some reason, he cared more for mother and me when I first came here though… "

"I'm also curious on another note here, Augustus… grandfather...look to be in pretty good health… why did you mentioned that he wanted to retire? If I were to have a good estimation for the old man, I could say that he probably be still kicking in good health for another one or two hundred years more…I mean...I notice that he broke through the twelve rank and made it into a whole new league, damn- I never thought that it was possible for anyone in this world to achieve that rank…at first I thought that you're the only strange one, seeing that you're a rank nine yourself."Leonard glanced at his brother.
