186 chapter 39

Within the Free City State Republic, new parliament chamber, the new meeting room of the council of elders of the Republic- and also the gathering spot for the member of the shadow council that lurked and ruled the country from the dark.

"What do you mean by the undead legion vanishing on the first day of the invasion?!" the leader of the council of elder was enraged upon hearing the new about the invasion force that they set up so much time for, digging up graves and looting crypts for bones to form the soldiers and troops that was necessary for that invasion.

"That's what the report said, the army just...vanished without a leaving much a trace behind, and Naz'rith himself too, disappeared with the rest of his apprentices." another council elder folded up a piece of document and put it into his inner pocket.

"I'm afraid that he perished, along with his apprentices and the army of ten thousand undead troop that were assigned to him." the same council elder added.

"If that were the case, this is bad new for us all, we just lose a peak rank eight! On the first day of the invasion just to make the matter even worse!" another member spoke out with an unsightly expression plastered all over his face as he looked at the leader of the council.

"What do you have to say for yourself, president… I know that you didn't have a great relationship with Naz'rith and the other elders who were, unfortunately enough to perished under that explosion that took out half a district…" the elder glared at the "president" of the Republic and the leader of the Shadow council.

"I have nothing to say… the Dark Mage Pater Tuus is stronger than what I had anticipated… that is all." the President replied, not even trying to defend himself.

"What the hell are we supposed to do now? We screwed up...and on top of that, one of our supporting pillar and many talented individual mysteriously vanished!" another spoke up and asked the rest of the council.

"I suggest we draft a peace treaty and sent it over to the Evergreen kingdom, to the Welser Duchy to be more specific, since we know that "Pater Tuus" actually supported the Duchy itself and not the entire kingdom." one elder gave his suggestion, which made all the other started a discussion of their own about the idea proposed.

"I agree with elder no.37 plan to draft a peace treaty and try to … ease the relationship between our two country, since the one named "Pater Tuus" has proved himself to be our equal." an elder spoke out in agreement with the one who proposed the idea of peace.

"I agree with the proposal as well…" another elder raised his hand.

Soon, more agreed to the proposal of the peace treaty and raised their hand.

"...I see, since it's a majority vote for the peace treaty, then we will follow that plan then, do you have any objection at all… President?" the elder who previously pointing finger at the leader of the council and country itself asked the old man for any objection.

"Just do whatever you want, just make sure you have what he asked for...humph!" the president threw the letter of "Apology" that was previously sent over by Leonard to the council members down below him before leaving through the back door.

An elder then used his telekinesis ability and pick the document that was on the ground and pulled it toward himself, so he can have a good look at what it said and written within.

However, the moment he scrolled down the paper with his eyes, the old man was shock and vomit out a cup worth of blood and fainted on the spot, dropping the piece of paper to another old council member that was next to him, who picked it up and read out curiosity- but he too, fell victim to the same tragedy that befell the previous elder.

These overly exaggerated reactions from the two elders peaked the interest of all the other elder as well, once again, the cycle started by another elder as he pulled the piece of paper toward himself using the same telekinesis magic and began reading the content written within.

*Pfffftttt!!! This elder cough out a mouthful of blood- from the sheer amount of shock that he had received the moment he read a bit down into the letter, luckily he didn't faint like the other two though, however his expression was a bit paled.

"What happened Elder? Is that piece of paper cursed? DAMN THAT BASTARD!" another elder who saw the reaction of the that elder began to shouted out loudly and cursed the president.

"No no no, it wasn't curse, it was just the shock...it is surreal… I'm starting to regret the decision of voting for peace now…this is no less than daylight robbery!" the elder who held the letter of apology which was sent by Leonard began to stated the condition that's written within of what they should expect if they wished for peace, needless to say, they were all having cold sweat afterward.

Back within the Evergreen kingdom, the border town- roughly another two weeks has passed since the "great" battle that broke out between the Republic and the Evergreen kingdom, the army was now dispersed and returned to their station throughout the Duchy since the war itself was practically over, for now.

"So … Naz'rith, what do you think their reaction will be? Would they pressed on for another invasion or will they seek for peace? You should know about those old fools back in homeland right? I mean… you did spend quite a bit of time there." Leonard asked the skeleton in a robe that was with him in the office within the town hall.

Surrounded by all important officials of the Duchy and of course, Erik-his father, was also there as well.

"No young master, I do not think that it will be the option for them, since it already took quite a bit of effort for them to amass such an army like previously already and also adding me into the mix, they failed to last barely a day here… I do not think that they would be that foolish enough to try again… unless they wanted to risk everything and mobilized the other guardians as well." Naz'rith gave his own thought.

Only then that a man rushed into the room where all the important matters are being discussed between the higher management of the Duchy while profusely sweating.

"T-t-the Republic!" he yelled while struggling to catch his breath.

"What about the Republic?! Did they try to invade again?!" Vandal slammed onto the table as he shouted at the man.

"N-no my lord! The Republic has sent over chests filled to the brim with coins and some high quality energy stone! They're outside of the gate at this very moment!" the man then pulled up a report and gave it to Vandal.

The moment Vandal looked through the report his eyebrow raised a little as he went through the minor details that was written within before handing it over to his father, Erik to also have a look through it and in the end , also had a confused look on his face.

"...they sent us gift? and a peace treaty?... " he muttered.
