99 chapter 39: Epilogue

Inside the imperial palace of the Rosen kingdom capital.

The old king, Cromwell was sitting on his throne, looking listless, fearful and anxious.

His hair now was completely white due to a large amount of stress that he had to endure all these time when he received news that his army has failed in their invasion for the second time.

"We are doomed…this is the end for the Rosen royal family," Cromwell muttered out those words in front of his subjects, the nobles and other officials of the court.

Along with the general that led that same army, Gilbert.

"I have failed, your majesty." Gilbert went down to both of his knees in front of the aged old king of the Rosen kingdom, with tears and sorrows on his face.

"Your majesty...what are we going to do now?" suddenly, one of the noble step forward and asked the old king anxiously.

"What else can we do? Other than trying to use what left of our army to try and defend what is left of our kingdom." Cromwell answered the anxious noble.

"You mean, we have to give up a major part of our territory to the Evergreen kingdom?" the noble gritted his teeth.

The old king did not continue to answer the anxious noble, the anxious noble knew too well of what the silent from the old king mean, he has lost everything, now he only had a title for show, but no land to his claim.

"How's the Church faring?" Cromwell quickly changed the topic and asked his foreign affair minister about their "ally" situation.

The foreign affair minister of the Rosen kingdom was an old bald man.

He used to have some hairs on his head before the war broke out between the two kingdom, however now, his head could only be described as "shiny" due to the huge amount of stress and political shit storm he had to deal with between the other kingdoms, the one that allied with Rosen and the one that's remained neutral due to fearing that they might get dragged into the crossfire between them.

"Reporting, your majesty- the Church has cut off all communication between our two countries, however, my spy told me that they didn't fare any better than us, the Windstad family down south had set an invasion toward their territory." the old minister told Cromwell.

"They deserve it." Gilbert spat out those words in disgust.

The holy capital of Saint Haven.

"...this is a nightmare….it must be…" the pope locked himself up inside his room while muttered some incoherent words from now and then, leaving all the other cardinals waiting outside anxiously.

"What are we going to do now?!" Cardinal Sith shouted.

"What else can we do? The Windstad family of Evergreen has been giving us all a major headache as of lately, they didn't set on conquering us, but they cut off our trade route to all the all lands, the Violet plain down south and the Free City up north." one of the cardinals informed Sith on their situation.

"I also heard that they also burned down chapels and desecrated any holy symbols of the church that they could get their hand on as well…the people aren't too thrilled with all of this chaos going on in the Holy kingdom and began to riots outside." another added.

"Did they set negotiable terms at all?" Cardinal Sith asked William who was remaining quiet all these time.

William nodded his head.

"Yes, they did set up some terms, but it's really is unfavorable to us...and most of all shameful as well." William spits out those words with an ugly expression on his face.

"What the hell did they ask for?" Sith asked him curiously.

"They demand that we publicly apologized to them and as well as starting a twenty years tributes paying terms, they will ask ten percent of the Holy kingdom annual income and lastly pushed our own border back by a few kilometers," William answered him.

"Fucking accept it! Why are you keep waiting like a dumb fool?! Is it that pride of your again?! We are losing MORE right now then if we were to accept their terms! Beside! What the hell can we lose if we were to apologize to them publicly?! Plus I know that you're going to waste that ten percent that they asked for in some useless shit such as building more vacation homes for yourself! At least it's fucking better than the Rosen kingdom situation?! I heard that they set loosed an army of undead to ravage their land!" when Sith heard William answer, the man quickly rushed over and grabbed William head and began shaking it repeatedly.

All the other cardinal also agreed with Sith as well.

In the Evergreen kingdom northern border army camp.

After the little shenanigan with the Church and the Rosen army, Vandal ordered all the enemies corpses to be piled up for Leonard (which amounted to at least five thousand), whom quickly raised all of them into zombies within three days and gave their rights of command to Erik.

Needless to say, Erik was quite happy by the new troops and quickly lead an invasion toward the Rosen kingdom, along with his trusted aide, Conner- and leaving Vandal behind at the soon to be "old" border camp as a backup, also- it seems that Erik took quite a liking to the Corpse spear that Leonard has previously lent him to fight Sirius, so before the man left the camp.

He shamelessly walked up to Leonard and placed a hand on his shoulder- while having a warm and fatherly expression on his face.

"Leonard...would you mind giving me your spear?"

He was completely speechless by his own father, of course, he decides to gift the man his spear since he rarely used it to fight anyway, might as well put it to good use.

Currently, Leonard was standing inside his tent, and surrounding him were Luminous, Mavis and lastly, Ryan who was injured and still had bandages covering her body.

"I'll be going now...take care of yourself ok?" Leonard went to Ryan and gave her a hug.

"I will…" she said shyly.

"Leonard, you sure that you couldn't bring any of us along with you?" Mavis asked him.

"Nope, it told me that this is going to be a solo mission," Leonard replied back to her.

"Don't worry, I'll try to not get myself kill, just wait for me ok? If my dad asks where I've gone, just say that I decide to go on a long trip and won't be back for quite some time." Leonard added.

Hearing this, Mavis and Luminous could only nod.

"Also, look after Clementine as well," he spoke those words to remind them about the little Loli that they left in the garrison city with John and Tyrant.

Before be was swallowed by a black portal under his feet and vanished without leaving a trace.

*****

Within the garrison city lord manor.

A little girl in a beautiful yellow dress was currently sitting outside on the balcony watching the sunset, beside her was a table filled with all kind of sweets and snacks with servant attending to her every need.

John also stood quietly in the back holding a letter.

"Princess Clementine, I received news from lady Mavis and lady Ryan, they said that they found your brother, young master Leonard, and they said that they will be back here in a day or two," John told her.

Clementine expression instantly got brightened up.

"Really? I missed them so much, thank you, John." Clementine replied to the man.

Whom could only look away.

"Oh she is just too cute?!" he yelled those words inside his heart when he saw Clementine happy face.
