94 chapter 34

"Are you serious? Leonard?" Erik asked him in a serious tone.

"Yes father, it is indeed true- the Church Demon Hunters has arrived to aid our enemy, the Rosen kingdom," Leonard replied to his father about their situation.

"The situation just got much more complicated now," Erik muttered while all the other commanding officers of the army discussed among themselves about their next move after they heard of Leonard bad news.

"Now the church has decided to fight us openly huh?" Vandal slammed his fist onto the table and roared out angrily.

"I know that you have more than just bad news on you, Leonard- mind continued on telling everyone here more about it?" Erik questioned Leonard.

"Yes father, you are correct, I didn't just return to informed you and everyone here with just the bad news." Leonard nodded as he continued on with telling them what he did.

Such as infiltrating their enemy camp, and poisoned them, slowly reducing their numbers and the fact that he and the troops that he brought along intercepted their couriers who were tasked with the important duty of informing the city of Trost and requesting more rations.

Immediately upon hearing of Leonard good news, the atmosphere within the tent immediately lightened up, Erik also seems to have his mood lightened up upon hearing the news as well.

"That's the best news that I ever heard from you in a long time," Erik told him.

"Thank you, father," Leonard replied back to his father, Leonard thought back to the time when before he actually took over this prodigal son body, this guy never did once to actually brought in any good news for Erik, the only thing he seems to bring back was a headache upon headaches.

"Now you know that the Rosen army cannot fight against us at their full strength, and our only enemy is the Church Demon Hunters itself, by now the Rosen Army could only be considered as a joke to us," Erik told all of the commanding officers.

Suddenly a knight rushed into their tent while breathing heavily.

"What is it, soldier?" Erik questioned the knight who intruded upon their meeting.

"Your grace, bad news!" the knights shouted out those words and went back to struggle to catch his breath to speak further.

"Take a deep breath," Leonard told the man, of which he followed his instruction and took in a deep breath and breathe out slowly.

"Already speak, what's making you run in here in such a hurry yelling bad news?" Leonard questioned him.

"The Rosen army! They're preparing for another attack!" the man then retelling the tales of what he had seen on his watch duty a moment ago.

"Is there anything special among those who are prepared for the attack?" Erik asked the knight.

"Yes your grace, leading the Rosen army troop as the vanguard were strange soldiers! They all look really well equipped, far superior to those of the regular in the Rosen army!" the knight reported his finding to his superiors.

"No doubt they are the Church Demon hunters," Leonard told his father.

"Yes, they seem to be very agitated and start an attack immediately within the day upon their arrival." Erik nodded and replied back to Leonard.

"Alright, you are dismissed, return to your duty soldier," Erik told the knight who rushed into their meeting to report the enemy to get back to his duty.

The man saluted to his superiors then marched back out of the tent.

"Your grace, what should our move be now?" one of officer asked Erik.

"Mobilized our troops to meet the enemy of course." Erik gave his order.

"Wait, father! I have a suggestion." Leonard interrupted him just before one of the officers was about to leave his seat to go out and mobilized the troops to meet their enemy.

"What is it, Leonard?" Erik asked him.

"I suggest that you use my undead troops as the vanguard to meet the Demon Hunters in combat, while you used our crossbowmen to deal some damages to them, as you might know, all of my troops are replaceable, as long as you can bring me corpses and me having enough magic inside of me, I can always create more dispensable troops for our uses, no need to waste the lives of our men against them," Leonard suggested.

Upon hearing his suggestion, all the commanding officers within the tent look at one another and nodded in agreement, Erik also seems to agree to his proposal as well.

"Your undead troops shall be the vanguard then," Erik told Leonard.

On the Rosen army and the Holy Church side.

"Their army look quite shabby…" No.0 commented on the Evergreen army as they lined and ready themselves up to meet their own armies in battle.

"They made look shabby, however, they have competent peoples leading them to stop our invasion, so please- do not underestimate them." Gilbert who stood by No.0 side, informed him.

"Competent people leading them? Or is it your incompetent that caused the whole mess?" No.0 smirked as he spoke those words to Gilbert.

Upon hearing what No.0 just said, Gilbert had a terrible urge of wanting to strangle this man who stood next to him.

"Look, they're making a move, switching out their vanguard troops?" Gilbert then when and changed topic by pointing at the Evergreen army movement and questioned.

As he said those words to No.0, No.0 expression became much more serious.

"Why so serious? You notice something?"

Gilbert noticed the man expression and asked.

"Those troops...they're strange."

No.0 nodded and replied back to Gilbert.

"What makes you say that?" Gilbert questioned the man.

"I- no I believe that all the Demon Hunters within the army can see that those soldiers who stood as the vanguard have a strange aura of death surrounded their body, they gave off the same feeling as the Necromancer that escaped from our base camp earlier today," he told Gilbert.

"Are they going to be a problem for us?" Gilbert asked the Demon Hunter in a worried tone.

"No, it doesn't matter, nothing will stop the advancement of god army!" No.0 shouted and began the charge against the Evergreen army by rushing out first.

All the Demon Hunters that followed No.0 did their battle cry and quickly followed him.
