Ryan complexion now was quite pale after listening to Leonard.

"...you mean...we likely be stuck here for quite some time?" she asked.

Leonard just nodded.

"...why me….just why me…." she was about to burst into tears.

Leonard upon witnessing Ryan reaction was sweating bullet.

"Sister! This isn't like you! This is the first in this life that I needed your tigress side!" he wanted to blurt it all out however he just kept quiet.

Mavis notice Leonard reaction then tries to cheer up Ryan.

"Lady Ryan, please don't worry! It doesn't seem to be that bad, Leonard did tell us that we could also get some benefit from this world while we waited for that god to send us back," she told Ryan.

Conner just nodded his head.

"Don't worry, since I'm here, I swear that I will protect you all, I may not look like it, but I'm a seventh gate master," he told everyone.

Everyone included Leonard and Mavis was quite surprise when Conner told them of his strength, as one might know, a master of that level could roam anywhere on the continent freely without much restriction, in fact, many powerful families would try to recruit them into their rank as well!

Leonard who was only at most count as a first gate, could see how perverted his strengths and power is, by comparison to a standard human he is 5 times stronger than them, now Conner told him that he's a seventh gate master, he could only guess what kind of disaster Conner would cause when he is pissed off.

"Well that's reassuring...I'm only a 5th rank mage, at least with a powerful warrior distracting those things, I won't afraid of being targeted." Mavis let out a sigh of relief.

"Alright then, why don't we try to kill one of the undead?" Leonard suggested and then pointed at the same creature in the distance that was feasting on a corpse.

They all agreed, by Ryan was still somewhat nervous.

"Don't worry Ryan, you'll be fine, I'll also protect you as well," Leonard said.

"Funny how this little tigress use to beat me black and blue back then, now she's like a timid cub...time does change a person I guess," Leonard noted those words down in his heart.

Ryan then looks at Leonard with her beautiful blue eyes.

"Since when did he become...so dependable?" she thoughted and then blush.

Leonard then looks at Mavis.

"Please torch that thing for me," he orders her.

Mavis nodded and then began her incantation and channeling the mana through her finger.

"Fireball!" she yelled while pointing her index finger at the undead.

*swoosh!

A bright ball of flame shot out of her finger hit the undead creature and exploded.

"Rwawrrrr!!!" the creature wailed then crashed on to the asphalt pavement with a thud.

"...well...that was easy….but why don't I feel any stronger?" Mavis asked.

Leonard and the other then walked closer to the burned corpse.

As they walked closer the tattoo on Mavis' wrist glowed for a second then dimmed down.

"...I definitely felt something...but it wasn't anything that major, maybe my magic increase by a tiny bit?" he told everyone.

"As long as there's an increase then it counts as something...don't worry...there's a million more of these things at the very least, so I wouldn't worry too much," Leonard said.

"Also, just a heads up, don't get bitten or injure by these things, or else you will be turned into one of them." he continued.

They all just nodded.

These words go especially for Conner and Ryan as Conner was a close combatant and Ryan...well she's just a now helpless girl.

"How in the freaking hell did that Leonard Welser kid gets beaten black and blue by this little girl back then." he wondered.

"Shh, quiet I heard something…behind us, something big is rolling toward us." Conner told everyone.

Leonard raised his eyebrow.

"Rolling?" he asked.

He then looked down the road behind the party and he could barely make out a blue truck coming toward them from down the road.

When the truck got near the party it slowed down and stopped.

Then out from the driver seat, a middle age man with a mustache walked out.

"You folk doing alright?" he asked nervously.

"Well, I'll be damn…," Leonard said excitedly.
