83 chapter 23
The Rosen invasion army.
Almost a week has passed, now they have arrived at the border.
Gilbert, one of the great general of the Rosen kingdom, was currently leading the Rosen army to the border to start another invasion against the Evergreen kingdom, with 10,000 troops and a few "Stone Punishers" among them, he was quite confident at first, however now- he started to have a really bad feeling about all of this.
"I hate this feeling…" Gilbert muttered, to which his squire caught wind of.
"General, is something bothering you?" his squire asked him.
"I just have a bad feeling about all of this, Lenn," Gilbert told him.
Gilbert then lets out a sigh.
"Forget it, it's probably nothing," he informed the squire as he looks toward the direction of the setting sun.
"We should set a camp around here and wait for sunrise before we start our assault against the Evergreen army at dawn tomorrow," Gilbert told the squire...
"I will go inform the other officers immediately, General." the squire obeyed and immediately turned his horse around.
Later that night in the forest.
"Alright, you all know the protocol by now right?" Leonard looks at the group of people around him, they all nodded and pulled up their crossbow and loaded it with a bolt, dipped in a small bottle they had on their belt.
"Alright, Luminous go lace their camp with some flammable liquid, target their supplies wagon and the trebuchet," Leonard ordered the woman, to which she nodded and sneaked off.
"Now we wait for her to send the signal." Leonard grinned.
Within the Rosen army, it was quiet- with occasionally a few knights walking around patrolling around the camp.
A slim figure wearing a dark cloak wearing a backpack was sneakily going through the camp, passing through the patrolling knights
That figure was none other than Luminous.
"Now, where could the supplies wagons be….the trebuchet is over there…" she muttered.
She then tosses a dagger out of instinct without looking back.
"Hey, you! Who-gurrghh" the dagger that was tossed by Luminous found its mark right in the neck of a patrolling knight.
"Oop?" she said in an indifferent tone.
"Now, I guess I should go to the trebuchet first." but before she headed there, Luminous first had to hide the bloody mess that she had made, with that finish, she quickly made her way to the trebuchet and took out a few glass bottles from her backpack and began spreading it on all four trebuchets, after she finished with the first task, she quickly made her way onto the next target, the supplies wagons.
"...hmm...they should...over there! Yes!" once again, she sneaks off toward the direction where she believes the supplies wagons is located.
"What a waste….all these foods and supplies could go to the poor and homeless children that reside in the capital of the Holy Kingdom." she then remembered the faces of those cute little children back in the capital.
"...*sigh...let just get this over with.." she then once again pulled out a few more bottles of flammable liquid from her backpack and spread it all over the supplies wagon.
"Done...now let get-" she was about to head off however she notice a presence behind her.
And once again tossed another dagger.
"Now now my dear Luminous...that was certainly rude of you...is that how you greet your superior?" the dagger that Luminous tossed was caught in between the finger of a man.
"Sirius...what are you doing here!" she was shocked.
"No no, that should be my question to you- what are you doing here…" the man said in a threatening tone and tossed the dagger right back at Luminous at a much higher speed, a speed of where no normal human could catch sight of.
Out of instinct, Luminous immediately pull out another dagger and strike at the incoming projectile that was aiming for her.
*clank
"I need to get out of here immediately!" this thought raced through her mind.
Outside of the camp, within the forest where Leonard and some of the guerrilla forces were hiding.
Leonard currently was using a spyglass to look at the camp.
"Damn...what took her so long…" Leonard muttered.
A guerilla fighter then walked up to Leonard.
"My lord, could lady Luminous encounter some sort of trouble?" he asked Leonard.
"Maybe, but let just hope that she could take care of herself," Leonard replied to the man.
"Have all of your bolt been soaked in the liquid?" Leonard asked him.
"Yes my lord, all of our bolts has been soaked in the liquid when the signal is given we will light it up and torch their entire camp." the man replied back to him.
"We continue to wait for her signal." Leonard them.
Back to Luminous.
*clash *clash *clash
The sound of metal clashing against metal ranged throughout the tent.
It was the clash between Luminous and her former superior Sirius, Luminous use her dagger to try and slash, sometimes attempted to stab Sirius, however, she either misses it or it was countered by Sirius.
*Clank! Luminous use her full power on a final strike, however once again it was parried.
That final full power strike from her kicked up dust and air which is powerful enough to completely destroyed the entire tent.
It immediately attracted the attention of the nearby patrolling knights whom immediately rushed over and raised the alarm.
"Shit! I need to get out of here before I'm surrounded!" her heartbeat was racing a mile a second.
The commotion caused by her and Sirius clash didn't just alert the guard, it also alerted Leonard group as well.
"Change of plan! We need to go and save her! Light up the bolt, we are moving out!" Leonard gave the order, they immediately rushed out of the forest while igniting the bolt, of course, he used fire magic to light up the bolt, the other guerrilla fighter uses a small fire starter they each carried on themselves.
When they were close enough to the camp.
"Take aim at the targets! We need to start some mayhem now so it can give Luminous enough time to escape!" he ordered and then took aim, they all followed his command and also took aim.
"FIRE!!!" *clank *clank *clank.
The sound of crossbows launching it bolt ringed out.
