73 chapter 13

"You should sound the retreat quickly, my troops will try their best to cover your guys," Leonard told the old man who was on the ground.

The old man, however, was quite surprised by Leonard he froze there for a second before he pulled out a horn and blow on it.

That horn is the retreat signal for their army.

"Good move, stay alive youngster." the old captain told them and then quickly left the battlefield.

"Alright, time to get back to the carnage." Leonard put his mask back on and went back to causing mayhem now that the Evergreen kingdom army has begun to pull back.

Flashback, a few hours before the battle start.

Leonard stood in the middle of the carnage left by the reinforcement army.

"Alright, time to wake up!" Leonard began unleashing his power of necromancy onto the surrounding corpses.

The fingers of the corpses that was near him, began to twitched and begun to stand up.

*urghhhh the zombies moaned and growl.

Soon, all the corpses were turned into zombie minions for Leonard.

Leonard then finds a set of armor from a too battered corpse and wore it, next he armed each one of his zombies with a magical sword that he stored form his inventory.

One has to ask, how could his inventory hold so many swords when it only had sixteen slots? He discovered that the items of the same type were stackable, so he abused it.

Now that his minions have been warmed up.

"We march to the enemy camp now!" Leonard ordered them, and they began marching since all their horses either ran away or dead.

When they arrived at the Rosen kingdom camp.

"Where have you guy been?! And why the hell is you so battered up?! What happened to the rest of the troop?! And where is your superior knight?!" the camp commander questioned Leonard.

"Sir, our troop was ambushed along the way and most of our troop was dead...along with the commander...this is all that left...we had no horses so we had to make our way here on foot," Leonard replied timidly.

"ARGGHHH!!!!" the commander banged his head on the table.

"And we had such a perfect plan too!" he raged.

"Drag this man out and execute him!" the commander ordered.

"Hold on sir, wantonly executing our own soldiers like that could drop our troop morale! You must not do that! We need all the troops we can muster to fight in the next battle!" his advisor shouted and try to persuade the commander in charge.

"Grrrr!!! Look like you just escape death, now scram!" the man shouted at Leonard.

Leonard obliged and salute his "Commander" and quickly left the tent.

Outside of the tent.

"Damn, I'll make sure that you guys are screwed over...BIG time…" Leonard curses under his breath, a soldier then walked toward him.

"Quickly go join the formation, the fight will begin shortly! Go now unless you want to be disciplined by martial laws later!" the man reminded him.

Flashback ended and back to the carnage at the battlefield.

Leonard was currently running around the battlefield in the Rosen kingdom knight armor and the corpse spear, slaughtering any Rosen enemy he came across and quickly ran off mixing in with the crowd to continue on confusing them.

He also notices his zombies were doing pretty well against the Rosen knights too, their sword just went through the knights' armor like it was paper.

He fought until the Evergreen army successfully fought their way out, then he and his zombie too, quietly left the battlefield.

Back at the Evergreen kingdom camp.

The old captain and his troop have successfully retreated back to safety.

"What happened out there? I heard that you were surrounded" Vandal came up from behind him and asked.

"My lord, something unexpected happen out there." the old man then quickly told Vandal what he has witnesses when he was in the middle of the fight, he described the appearance of the man that had saved him.

"Do you know that person?" the old man then asked.

Vandal, who heard this from the old man was quite surprised as well.

"I had a person in mind, however, I doubt he would be anywhere near a place as chaotic as this…" Vandal replied to the man.

"Is he in the army?" the old man asked.

"No, he's not." Vandal told him.

The one that Vandal had in mind was none other than Leonard, his brother, however, he had known that little brother of his for so long, and he could describe the teenager as a good for nothing debauchery who spends most of his time fooling around in the capital.

"There's no way in hell that it could be him." Vandal thought.

"That's strange...who could he be then? He told me that he's our reinforcement." the old man told Vandal.

"I don't know old man, however, it's good for us that he went against the Rosen army….my thought is that he might be a rebel in the Rosen army." Vandal gave his suggestion.

Then a knight ran up to the two of them with short breath.

"reporting-sir….*breathing *breathing" he struggled to catch his breath.

"What happened, soldier?" Vandal asked.

"There is roughly a hundred Rosen knight in battered armor waiting outside, and a young man, who was leading them requested for an audience with you." the knight quickly reported.

Upon hearing this report the old man looked at Vandal.

"I think he might be the one that helped us….you should go and have an audience with him," he suggested.

Vandal nodded and followed the knight outside of the camp.

There, he met a group of ragtag who's armor was covered in blood and all battered up.

Leading them was a young man holding a spear, he had a face that's way too familiar to Vandal.

"LEONARD?! What are you doing here?!" Vandal shouted while pointing his finger in disbelief.

"Oh hi there big brother, long time no see!" Leonard greeted him with a smile on his face.
