34 chapter 10
Leonard was currently carrying Lee on his shoulder and dragging him through the office to join up with the group.
From the distance, he could see Kenny running toward him.
"Lee! Leonard, are you two alright?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I could say less for Lee though, that old coot Larry gave him a knockout punch," he told Kenny.
"Ughhh" Lee groaned, "What happened?" he asked.
"Larry punch you hard, and you passed out, I manage to drag you back behind the door before you became walker chow," Leonard told him.
"Thank." he told Leonard, "I couldn't really deny not to help you when Clementine was about to run back to try and help you," Leonard told him he then look at Kenny.
"What are you doing here Kenny? Shouldn't you be with my group and your family?" Leonard questioned.
Kenny just shook his head. "No, I couldn't let another person be eaten by those things, especially friends," Kenny told them.
"I think I can walk on my own now, thank Leonard." Lee promptly got off Leonard back, seeing how a scrawny teenage kid manage to carry an adult on his back, he thought that Leonard was quite exhausted, however to Leonard, carrying Lee on his back as much of a problem.
"Alright let join up with the other," Kenny told them and promptly lead the two to where the others were, they quickly make it out of the drugs store to an empty street where a car and Kenny truck was waiting parked, where they found everyone- except the one that was eaten by the walkers waited.
"Leonard!" Mavis, Ryan, and Carley called out to him. "Lee!" little Clementine also called out to Lee and ran toward him and giving him a hug.
"Yo, what's up? Good to see that you made it out safely," he told them.
"No, it should be us who should tell you that," they told him.
They let out a sigh of relief.
When the chaos broke out his uncle Conner prioritized the safety of the group and lead them out along with Kenny and his family, leaving Leonard behind since they don't have much time to evacuate. Leonard doesn't fault him for that, in fact, he was glad that Conner did what he did, if someone like Ryan were to die here in this world then he wouldn't know how to explain it to his father and the lord of the Windstad family, plus Conner wasn't worried too much since he knows Leonard could take care of himself.
"Rawwrrr…" *moaning sound.
"Shit! They're here! We need to go now! Everyone get in a car, we're heading out!" Kenny called.
"We can go to the motel down in Peachtree! It probably cleared out by now, and if not we can just clear it out." Leonard suggested.
"Yeah let go there." Kenny agreed and they quickly drove off.
Along the way they indeed manage to run into a few walkers, however, Kenny truck would just mow them down without much of a problem, if it doesn't kill them then it would at least break their bones and leaving the thing immobilized and unable to follow them.
It wasn't long before they reached the motel down in Peachtree, when the group arrived they could see that most of the walkers have wandered off into the woods, leaving only two behind to walk around aimlessly until they heard the sound of the car engine.
"Stop the car." Leonard knocked on the glass informing Kenny, the engine stop and the walkers just limp toward them while moaning and growling.
He then hopped out from the back of the truck and walk toward the walkers with his ax.
"Huhhh!" *Clunk the blunt side of the ax hit the first walker on the head.
After the first walker was killed he quickly launch another attack on to the second one with the blade.
*crack the ax decapitated head from it shoulder clean.
"Alright let drag them into a pile burn them, we don't want them to spread any weird diseases and get everyone sick right?" Leonard told Kenny.
The men began to pull the body one by one into a pile which took quite a while, Kenny then spills in some gasoline on them and light it up with a lighter.
The both of them watched the corpse bonfire burning.
Leonard then notice Clem who look pretty downcast on the side, she then walked away from the bonfire, however, he said nothing.
He then looks toward Glenn who was standing beside his car listening to the radio about the current situation in Atlanta, from the broadcast he concluded that the situation was pretty bad there.
"I think I need to go," Glenn said when he notice Leonard walked toward him.
"Got friends or families in Atlanta?" he asked.
Glenn just nodded. "yeah, I can't just stay here knowing that they could be trapped in that city," he said.
"It sounds really bad there Glenn," Lee chimed in.
"But I got to take my chances.." Leonard then looks at Lilly and Lee who listened to the conversation on the side and then back at Glenn.
"Go find your friends man," Leonard told him. Glenn gave Leonard a surprised look.
"You guy be safe then," Glenn told Leonard and then get back inside his car and start the engine.
Just before he rolled up the window Leonard stopped him.
"Here's some advice, just beware of the cult leader type of people- and try not to be walkers bait alright?" Leonard told him, Glenn nodded and then rolled up his window and then drove off toward Atlanta.
