1 Life

Life is beautiful, ugly, often fleeting, but still an annoyingly long process. I particularly felt that last one as I waited for my Hotpocket to finish cooking in the microwave. *Beep*Beep*Beep*. Looking at the door of the machine I crossed my fingers, and opened it only to find my Hotpockets halfway cooked... "Stupid Microwave! I swear I'm gonna replace you one of these days." I knew I would too if only I actually had the money to spend on the thing.

Starting it back up I started pacing back and forth, until I started hearing a short fizzle of electricity. Running over and trying to stop the microwave to see what's wrong with it; I then promptly found myself on the floor with pieces of the once whole microwave sticking in my body. 'This is it huh. It wasn't truck-kun that did me in, but disrespecting the Hotpocket gods. A shame.'

I remember just having a long rest after that. One that helped my soul relax and all my stress melt away. I no longer needed to worry about happenings from my world. I even had an instinct that most things had already passed after a certain amount of time. Like my family's and friends' lives, and so I drifted in the space of the great void until one day I felt a small pull. Following it and not resisting I found myself before a giant orb made of what I assumed to be the theory of numbers and their effects on the Omniverse.

I had a feeling it asked me to do something. But having no clue what and not wanting to offend some eldritch being I let it freely do what it wished. Plus I felt no negative emotion from the being, but then again that just might be my lack of care that had developed over the years of being some incomplete soul (brought about by my death) which only seemed to know pieces of what it once knew.

And then I was gone.

Coming to I found myself slowly feeling on a deeper level again. No longer just a soul round up in a plain empty afterlife with my thoughts having no place to collect and organize properly, and constantly feeling them drift into the void. Looking at my hands then my legs and slowly getting used to having a body once more I found myself wondering why I wasn't freaking out with my newly restored emotions. Fortunately I quickly found out.

*Status

Host Identified: Carson Mirrors

Perks: Gamer's Truth- The power of a gamer's soul, mind, and body. Prevents Mind, and soul alteration from any being below Divine Rank 333. Body alteration is possible through normal growth and "stats". Body can't gain debilitating effects unless the hosts wills it ex. Temporarily losing an arm to escape the grasp of an enemy. This perk does not work on certain "Game like" status effects. This is so the user doesn't rely too much on this perk once on a higher level.

System Draws:1*

I found myself drawn to the short page on a holographic screen in front of me. Obviously using the draw as it seemed to be the obvious thing to do I found myself with three selections to choose as my prize from Frogger, Call of Duty, and finally Ratchet and Clank. I didn't want a joke system like the Frogger so I immediately dismissed it. At least I assumed a game about jumping and dodging stuff was useless when other options gave you guns seeing in the name of the systems. Thinking heavily on it I decided I wasn't ready for future fantasy gear when I couldn't even shoot normal gear. I also remembered some gear like the fire whip needed you to know more than just pulling the trigger.

Immediately I had a HUD pop up in my vision with some sort of HUD Opacity setting that made it not stick out as much when I didn't need to see the information. At the bottom there was a stored/ready ammo icon, a health icon, a grenade icon, stamina icon, and finally some sort of box set aside for future cool downs on different items. There was also a Black Market Symbol and a Cache symbol from Bo4. Sure enough clicking on it brought me to a store where I could by certain weapons for certain amounts of cash and a mission listing option that would give me caches to claim rewards if I completed listed missions. The last two features I noticed were that I could access HUD settings by yelling "settings" earning a few looks from people around me as for some reason I had been brought to this world I was now in, in a dark alley way of all places. And the other feature being an important one had a connection with the missions. Certain missions once accepted sent you to kill zombies, and from what I could gather would either spawn a relic in the world you're in, or send you to the Trayarch universe itself. Mostly the second from what I could tell.

With all the wildness going on there were two things I planned on knowing. What world I had been brought into, and where could I go to sleep. Thankfully the First one brought itself to my attention.
