7 Chapter 7: Advice

Lucas sat down and watched the exquisite performance of charms and spell work that the professor showed him, which made him see some new things about charms that he did not think of before, but before he got carried away with those thoughts, he just enjoyed the moment as he knew this was rare plus, the cupcakes are absolutely delicious from his experience.

After enjoying his third cupcake, the professor completed his work, and turned to him.

"Yes, so what issue are you facing Mr. Lucas?"

"Professor, I wanted your advice on something that I made. Please tell me if it is possible to sell this."

Lucas then took out his set of pens, papers, and inks along with just memory crystals separately and laid it on the table in between them.

"Oh? It seems that your research has bore fruit. So would you mind explaining me you objective and product before I examine it?"

Professor Flitwick asked as he looked at my creations with a glint of deep wisdom in his eyes.

"Of course professor. If you don't mind, would you like to watch a small performance of mine, which I believe would more accurately display my product?"

"Okay."

With his approval, Lucas took the first paper out of the stack, which was filled with words in a rainbow ink which swirled around even if it had dried up.

Holding his wand in his hand, Lucas gently waved it across the whole paper diagonally from start to finish and let the work speak for itself.

As Lucas completed his action, the words lit up and a hologram formed, in which a non characterized person was sitting in front of a desk with all the products laying on it.

The video started with a curious background music playing showing the story of a worker without any face who came back home from work and found the complete set of products on his study table.

The person started using the pen by first selecting a normal black ink and using it on a parchment. First he wrote it himself in his own handwriting, after which he started experimenting with the tools.

The font size, style and texture started changing with the change in the tip of the pen. He seemed to think of something as the music was switching over to more excited one as the pen itself started shapeshifting from a pen, to a quill, to pencil, but the functions remained the same regardless of appearance.

Seemingly satisfied with it, he was about to change it to the new paper, but accidently scratched across the parchment with 'Important Document' at the heading off to the side. Just as he was shocked, with a sudden serious music to celebration, he watched as the ink refill changed as per his wish and the pen automatically erased the scratched part without affecting the 'Important Document'.

Overjoyed, he then started giving commands to write something in his head, as the crystal on top of the pen glowed, and he pressed his head against it, and then the pen started writing automatically, and as it continued, he discovered that he could also change the font style to a more pleasing one, calligraphy, anything he wanted.

Similarly, he then discovered other functions of the different inks, paper, and the temporary and permanent memory crystal and became promoted at his job. The whole video then came to an end as the text flowed back down on the paper and turned to the text version of the story.

As Lucas enjoyed another cupcake, he awaited his professor's response.

"This is amazing work Mr. Lucas! It will not only make work of many people easier, but also make the books and studying more interesting! How did you accomplish this? Most importantly, how much of the functions are there in reality? Even if the most basic are there, it will be fine."

The professor genuinely expressed his happiness and excitement at his student's accomplishment and making a name for himself.

"Thanks a lot professor, before I tell you my boring story, why don't you try it for yourself to see how much the functions resemble the video?"

"Okay then."

After about twenty minutes, he was done checking out the pen, and suffice to say, he was very happy with it, in appreciation, Lucas gifted the set to the professor, especially with the design that he had made was specialized for ravenclaw with a blue and bronze color coding and an eagle model on top of the pen, and a watermark of a bronze eagle on the blue paper with lines, and the like.

That was one of the five sets that he had made. Four for each houses, and one office themed. There were many more theme ideas that he had in mind, but that was for later.

"So how do you plan to sell these products Mr. Lucas?"

"Please professor, call me Lucas. I actually wanted to consult you about this. I have the mass production capabilities, but I lack the connections to acquire a stable source of materials and sales channel."

"Even if I have some investments in a couple shops in the Diagon Alley, I don't think they would be able to sell this sue to the different nature of the shop themselves. Also, I think the Ministry of Magic should not allow the mass sale of memory crystal, just like the official bags with traceless extension charms."

Lucas openly shared his situation with the professor, recognizing that this direct approach would likely yield the most assistance. Moreover, engaging in business talks, a task he struggled with and didn't particularly favor, seemed overly cumbersome.

"I am happy that you trust me enough to ask for advice, so I will definitely live up to it. I have a few old friends and students who can help with this, but are you sure that you can manage the production on your own provided that you have the materials?"

"I am not doubting your capabilities, Lucas, but just worried that the workload will be too high with the product that you have made."

Observing Professor Flitwick's genuine concern, Lucas felt deeply moved as it was a rare moment of care in this new world, warming Lucas's heart and soothing some of the scars that lingered, causing him to smile from the bottom of his heart as he continued his talk with his professor.

"Thanks professor, but you don't need to worry as I have automated the process so that I don't have to do it and it can do the repeated process as long as materials are present by using charms, runes and alchemy. Would you like to see it so you can let me know what changes would be needed to pass the market test?"

"Sure!"
