Chapter 2

With the first ray of sunlight, I stood up and looked around myself. The dawning sun is beautiful even here. I have no idea how or if I can go home, so for now I should just focus on living.

Nodding to myself I checked the system, although I can get a rough feeling on how my skills improved through the night it still is something different to see numbers go up.

[Earth Control lvl 5:

Your control over the earth is 5% more effective]

[Moonlight Control lvl 8:

Your control over moonlight is 8% more effective]

[Sand Control lvl 3:

Your control over sand is 3% more effective]

[Energy Sense lvl 9:

You can sense and control energy 9% more effectively]

Of the three energies, I interacted with during the night moonlight really felt good to interact with, a shame I can't use it properly throughout the day. I still have energy left over from the night, but I don't think I can regenerate it.

It's similar to a mana pool, that I can only fill during the night, which doesn't regenerate during the day.

As for earth and sand, I don't think I'll run out of it anytime soon. And now that it is daytime I can also start practising with sunlight too, who knows I might be able to become an Ascended without the Sun Disc.

But Ascended or not I don't want to stay in the desert, where to go now, south, east, north or west? South is a no go for sure, although I do not know during which timeline I arrived in Runeterra I do not want to risk dealing with a void infested desert and whatever is going on right now in Icathia.

The west isn't too dangerous, but there is not much to find near mount Targon. East would lead towards the jungles of Ixtal, still too dangerous, but if I head north before I enter the jungle I should be able to reach the coast.

There will probably be a port town somewhere along the coast, and if not I can go towards Zaun or Piltover. With some luck, I am in a Runeterra before the current timeline. If that's the case then Zaun hasn't sunk yet.

From Zaun, I can look for either a boat that goes to Ionia or a caravan going towards Noxus or Demacia.

Ionia, Demacia or Noxus.... Demacians consider elemental control magic so that's a no go. Noxus is filled with hidden threats such as the Black Rose, and Vladimir. As for Ionia, from what I know it's arguably one of the safer places as long as you respect it.

Ionia it is. And as for how I'll get there, haha I have a system and I also know every single champion of which there is one with abilities similar to the one I gained throughout the night, her name is Taliyah the Stoneweaver and would you guess what? She used those powers to travel through Shurima at incredible speed.

She had two ways of riding stone, the first was creating a massive pathway of stone, and the other was using a somewhat larger stone as a surfboard.

Knowing my own limits I quickly threw the idea of imitating her ultimate away and just focused on surfing on the sand with a stone large enough for me to stand on.

Moving around on the stone was truly weird. I've skated and snowboarded before but this somehow feels very little like it. I can choose whether or not my feet stick to the stone and stone doesn't accelerate by going down, instead, I simply will it to go forward. The height at which my stone floats over the ground is also controlled by my thoughts. As since I am not touching the ground, as long as I don't willingly stop, the only friction slowly stopping me is the air.

Slowly getting a grasp on how to not lose my balance I continue north-north-east. As I continued surfing I was getting faster and faster having more and more fun. Each dune became its own ramp, ranging from miniature ones to enormous ones letting me soar through the air.

I continued surfing like this until it became noon. With the sun at its zenith, it became a bit harder to keep track of the direction I was going in. Sure the minimap helped but I really didn't feel like checking it every other second to make sure I was going in the right direction. It kind of took the fun out of the surfing.

Now you might ask me, what am I doing here thinking about fun, while I am in the middle of a desert with no food and drink and there probably some beast lurking nearby, to which I say that's a good point but it's not like I'll starve or die of thirst since I can restore my body via meditation. And I won't just sit here taking a break.

I sit down and start meditating, this time it will be a new energy type, the energy of the sun.

Focusing on the sensation of the heat and the sun heating me up I slowly rotate the energy in my body. Last night after gaining Energy Sense I found out that whenever the energy in my body was in motion it would interact much better with energy. It helped me gain Sand and Earth control much faster than Moonlight control.

Slowly I could feel the energy within my body heat up. Just before the heat became unbearable a notification from the system rang out and a comfortable warmth spread through my body.

[Sunlight Control learned]

Oh, this feels good. Unlike the refreshing cold of the moon, this is a very comfy warmth, almost as if I was laying in a bed covered by a thick and soft blanket.

Having gotten used to the sensation I stop meditating and get up to continue travelling north. Surfing on the dunes I realize how little there is to do in the desert. Watching the sun slowly set over the dunes is beautiful as well, but I should look for something else to do while travelling except for watching sunrises and sunsets over and over again.

Hmm... Thinking about it there is one more element that surrounds me at all times, that I can train in. The wind. Perhaps I can even practice the wind while surfing, training two things at the same time. Sunlight and Moonlight have been more complex than earth control so I wasn't able to focus on another element, but I feel like I've been getting kind of used to Earth control, so I might be able to use it with Wind control.

Having a plan for what to do the next day I stopped travelling, used my Earth Control to build a shelter and spend the rest of the night, learning how to feel and control the wind at the same time as the earth.

All in all, a fruitful night.
